Thinking about 4 night in KL, than 2 more nights in Malacca for sight-seeing before flying back in Bangkok from there. Fully aware not to expect much gaylife or hanky panky in Malacca but can survive few nights without. After all, after that I will be whoring again in Bangkok for few nights. LOL

When I am in Malaysia or Indonesia, I tend to avoid saunas and any gay sex parties out of fear for situations like this. But in both countries, plenty of paid and free sex available to be had in the privacy of your hotel room.

All major 5 star hotels were fully booled with the ASEAN conference. I opted for a couple of nights at the KSL Esplanade hotel in Klang. About 45 mins fr KLIA. 
 

the onsen is not gay. But I reckon 80 % of patrons are gay, many bi/ married. 
 

lots of eye candy. Not a place for action but lots of opportunities to hook up if staying at the hotel.  
 

i had a lot of fun. Boring as hell aside from the onsen though. Good spa too. 

I'll probably be staying in Bukit Bintang.

The nicer hotels in KL have spas (sauna, steam, jacuzzi etc) for guests, usually with outside memberships. Notable examples are Mandarin Oriental, Hilton/Meridien, Shangrila, Grand Hyatt and Sheraton. They can all be very active for hook ups. Weekends are especially fun as Malaysians like to do KL staycations and other Asians hop over for a cheap weekend. KL hotels are absurdly good value compared to other Asian cities. 
 

There's plenty of rent boys on Grindr. Always ask if they are MB (money boy). Some non pros will just ask for 100-150 myr to help them out, the pros ask 250-400myr. 
 

No issues bringing guests to rooms. Ive stayed at all the above hotels over the years. 
 

I tried the massage place in Fahrenheit 88. Boy fucked me beautifully after nice massage for a decent tip. No luck in other 'mens' spas' - not even HE. 
 

Some of the skankier straight massage places on Bukit Bintang have masseurs keen to play. It's pot luck though. Use your gaydar before agreeing for massage. If they tout for  body massage, not foot, then it's more likely they're looking to play and earn a tip. 50myr is enough. 
 

However, it is Ramadan, so I was wondering if otot-otot sauna would be open.

I was there in November of 2023, entered the Country by train from Singapore, stayed one night in Johor Bahru, two nights in KL and four nights in Georgetown. From there I traveled overland to Chumphon, Thailand, and got on a boat to Koh Tao, but that’s a different story…

Johor Baru was an interesting, but unnecessary stop. I booked a night there because I wasn't sure how regular I could expect the border trains from Singapore to be or how smooth the border crossing would be. Very regular, very smooth turned out to be the case, so that left me a good half day, an evening, and a night to enjoy Johor Bahru before catching a train to KL the next day.

JB is not exactly a picturesque city and not very walkable, but you are probably not here for the family friendly version of my trip with sightseeing and good food, so I will leave those details for Instagram and go on to the topics of interest to this community; boys and men.

Malaysia has three very distinct population groups, Malay, Chinese and Indian, so both food- and hook-up wise there are a lot of flavors to sample. I don’t have a specific type and like guys in their 20s, 30s and sometimes 40s (so many men, so little time!). I must say however, that I found Malay Malaysian exceptionally beautiful. High cheek bones, almond shaped eyes, cute little noses, pretty lips and regular white teeth in just the right proportions seem to adorn the faces of many Malay men and women.

Grindr is my hook-up app of choice, and I got a decent amount of attention. One message was from a guest from the local sauna “the Maze” (or it might have been direct marketing from the sauna itself). I decided a trip to the sauna would be a perfect way to sample different types so I went. As far as I recall the place had a bar, a gym and a fairly big maze where the sampling took place. It was a fairly mixed crowd of mostly Chinese and Indian descent in their 30s, 40s and 50s, so there were samples to be had. Sadly it was mostly sampling because the maze was haunted by a little old man and his flashlight. I don’t know if his job was to clean or to make sure the hanky panky didnt get out of hand, but he did a great job at both. After a couple of hours of a lot of close close encounters interrupted by the infinite loop of flashlight man, I decided I had had enough appetizers and went back to the city center for dinner and another look at Grindr. 

Among others I chatted with an early 20s Malay man, we met for a drink and a chat and went to my hotel where we had a really good time. I stayed at the Bello Hotel JB Central and there was no issue bringing my date to my room. Maybe because I had booked for two, or they didn’t care, or my assumption that the receptionist played on our team was correct. 

I hope my sample of Malaysia is of interest to the forums and plan to make a report on KL and Georgetown in the near future.

Thailand will launch a new train service linking Bang Sue in Bangkok to Penang, Malaysia, within the next two to three months. The initial phase will be a six-month trial period, marking a significant step in cross-border transportation.

The announcement was made yesterday, August 20, by Ekarat Sriarayapong, head of the Governor’s Office of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). Awirut Thongnet, Deputy Governor of the SRT, attended the 42nd KTMB – SRT Joint Conference in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, from August 13 to 16 to discuss expanding railway cooperation between Thailand and Malaysia.

The meeting approved the principle of operating a train service from Bangkok’s Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to Padang Besar and Butterworth in Penang, Malaysia.

The desperate state of Chinese property developers was outlined in the following forum last month.

Having taken over as China's No. 1 property developer company from massively indebted Evergrande, Country Garden has been warning of its own disastrous financial position. At the end of last month it issued a warning to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange that its first half year loss was close to US$6.72 billion. It has also defaulted on overseas loans and is likely to be booted off the HKSE.

In Malaysia,some of its woes are there for all to see. Its massive residential development outside Johor Bharu and close to Singapore was launched under China's Belt and Road initiative. The ambitious aim of Forest City was to provide housing for 700,000 residents. Many were expected to be purchased by Chinese from the mainland seeking to park their savings offshore. One such investor was 29-year old Zhao Bojian from Henan province who purchased one of the existing 26,000 apartments prior to completion 5 years ago. He is one of only 9,000 residents. Most of these, though, do not actually live there.

Despite the Malaysian government being desperate to encourage local buyers, especially from neighbouring SIngapore, few have done so. To attract more overseas buyers, a special economic zone has been developed with duty free shops, a special income tax rate and multiple entry visas. Llittle has worked. With China's economy now in a very bad state, the flood of Chinese buyers has evaporated. Consequently, much of the overall development is incomplete. There are no streetlights, for example. Worse, the 4-lane access road has collapsed forcing drivers to take a longer detour.

Country Garden is now saddled with debts of almost US$200 billion. Its ability to continue with Forest City is unlikely. Virtually a ghost town, Forest City is destined to become an enormous whilte elephant.

After the massive 1MDB corruption scandal which has seen the former Prime Minister jailed for 12 years and his shopaholic wife sentenced to 10 years, a scandal that lost the country US$4 billion, one might have thought the government would be happy to remain out of the headlines for a while. That scandal spread the globe and involved dirty deeds in the banking, entertainment and political worlds. It has been described as "one of the world's largest financial scandals."

Now, though, thanks to a small Swiss watchmaker, the government will be back in court for what in most countries would be regarded as a trivial case. To celebrate Gay Pride, Swatch produced a limited edition of Pride-themed watches.

On arrival in Malaysia, the government seized 174 of the watches worth over US$14,200. Apart from the gay element, the government's reasoning was that the watches violated the Printing Presses and Publications Act of 1984. Swatch is suing the government for the return of the watches on the basis that this was an illegal act as they are not a publication which can be prohibited under the Act. The case will go to court on Thursday (20th). While it will be interesting to see the arguments put forward by the government, it is highly unlikely that the government will easily give in. The headlines about its being in favour of promoting homosexuality will be anathema to its leadership.

Malaysia’s government halted a music festival in the capital Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, a day after the frontman of British pop rock band The 1975 kissed a male bandmate onstage and criticised the country’s anti-LGBT laws.

Bangkok, 5 July 2023 – Bangkok has become the first international destination for Malaysia’s newest low-cost airline MYAirline, with the launch of a new daily direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Suvarnabhumi Airport on 28 June 2023 and a second daily flight to Don Mueang International Airport on 1 July 2023.

From 17 August 2023 a second daily flight will be added to both airports, bringing the total daily flights operated by MYAirline between Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok to four.

The airline, established in January 2021, said it was the first Malaysian carrier to fly to both Bangkok airports, and that it planned to add flights to other destinations in Thailand in the future, such as Phuket, Krabi, and Chiang Mai.

Since Malaysia implemented UNDI-18 last year which lowered the voting age from 21 to 18, it is apparent that young Malays are turning towards the conservative Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition. PN comprised primarily of the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), which champion for Islam to play a greater role in society, and the Malaysian Indigenous United Party (Bersatu), which seeks to maintain, if not enhance, the existing race-based privileges for ethnic Malays. As Malaysian voters are segregated into various streams in polling booths based on their age, the broad voting patterns for youths can be observed. Based on the available stream data, PN was the most popular coalition nationally among Malay youths, followed by Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH). The Malay youth vote played a vital role for PN (green) to expand into seats which were previously held by BN (blue) and to a smaller extent PH (red) in the recent 2022 General Election (GE2022).

In contrast, Thai youths are gravitating towards the Move Forward Party (MFP), which campaigns on a progressive platform with an anti-establishment undertone. Its core policies include welfare policies, protection of LGBTQ+ rights, military conscription reform, and amendment of the lese majeste law. The MFP is the reincarnation of the now-defunct Future Forward Party (FFP), led by Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, a wealthy and charismatic figure with an overwhelming social media presence and popularity among the youth.

The greenhorn FFP arose on the back of overwhelming youth support in the 2019 General Election. In 2019, the FFP secured third place with 6.2 million votes, defying predictions by even the most informed experts. Although support for the FFP among Thai youths cannot be observed directly since polling in Thailand is not segregated based on age, this conclusion can be extrapolated from advance vote where FFP performed incredibly well among the outstation university students vote. After the Constitutional Court dissolved the FFP in February 2020, the party’s followers, many of whom are high school and university students, took to the streets to voice their grievances and resentment against the political system they saw as unjust. This youth-led social movement has created a powerful, progressive force that the MFP is now banking on for the upcoming general election scheduled in a weeks’ time.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Malaysia’s foreign minister on Friday brought 24 Malaysians back from Cambodia who were rescued from human traffickers, out of a total of 148 citizens he said have been reported missing in the country.

Saifuddin Abdullah said 65 of the 148 missing Malaysians were rescued and brought home earlier, and 29 others are still at immigration centers in Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville and will be sent home when their paperwork and investigations are completed. Another 30 remain missing, officials said..

The Malaysians, mostly young people, were lured by fake offers of high-paid work in Cambodia and ended up in the hands of human traffickers and were trapped there, he said.

Saifuddin didn’t provide details on how the 24 people who returned Friday were tricked into going to Cambodia or how long they were trapped. The victims, who appeared at a news conference with Saifuddin, were mostly masked and didn’t speak to reporters.

Saifuddin said such job scams are not unique to Cambodia and have been reported in other places, including South Africa. About 500 Malaysian companies operate in Cambodia, and 5,000 Malaysians work or do business safely there, he said.

“What is most important is that they are coming back to Malaysia today safe and sound. We do not want to go into the details,” Saifuddin said. “There is no guarantee we can stop it (job scams) but we will try our level best.”

Malaysia on Wednesday (Sep 7) scrapped its mask mandate for indoor settings, with premise owners allowed to decide whether to impose their own face mask requirements. 

“Face masks indoors will be optional effective immediately,” said Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, adding that masks remain mandatory for COVID-19 cases, and in public transport and healthcare facilities. 

Healthcare facilities include hospitals, clinics and nursing homes while public transport covers e-hailing services, flights, taxis and trains. 

Masks are "highly encouraged" for crowded indoor settings, he added. 

High-risk individuals, those who are ill or symptomatic, as well as individuals who interact with vulnerable groups are also encouraged to keep their masks on.

Those who test positive for COVID-19 - and are required to undergo health checks at COVID-19 Assessment Centres (CAC) - will still need to put on masks.

The Health Minister said that although the wearing of masks indoors was no longer compulsory, premise owners could decide on the mask requirements for their premises, such as making them mandatory or optional. 

Tourists entering Thailand from Malaysia are expected to outnumber Indian tourists after the scrapping of the “Thailand Pass” requirement from July 1st, said Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn yesterday (Thursday).

According to the Tourism Authority of Thailand, 123,606 Indian tourists arrived in the country in the first five months of this year, followed by 96,323 from Britain, 78,523 from Malaysia, 77,707 from Germany and 72,482 from the United States. Total arrivals in that period were 1,336,068.

He admitted that he had hoped that the removal of “Thailand Pass” requirement would attract more tourists to Thailand, estimated at about 900,000 a month, up from between 400,000-500,000 in May and about 700,000 this month.

He said that the incentives that attract foreign tourists to Thailand include the weakening of the Thai baht against the US dollar, the relatively low cost of living in Thailand and reasonable hotel room rates.

Regarding tourists from the Middle East, the minister said that about 15,000 arrived in May, and that is expected to increase to over 20,000 this month, as he expects total such arrivals for the whole year to be at least 300,000.
