  1. Giving back after taking from this forum..... Since I was forewarned that Tuesday is a dud, I went there early Wednesday (had to fly out that evening). At 4:30 I was almost the only seeker. Apparently it's enough for a newbie not to speak Portugese to merit special care. Without a hint from me, the receptionist called the english-speaking owner-manager. Roy asked if I needed any help, I said no (given my Rio experience), but he nevertheless imparted some wisdom: the customary rate is R100; if you enjoyed the boy very much - do not give him more than 150..... The place was squeaky clean; each of the 2 towels was nylon-wrapped; I liked the layout better than 117's. Entering the shower, I met Lucas who left the water running for me. He is just my type (see photo enclosed), and being short on time - after showering I looked for him. He was softly flirtatious, hugging, stroking, offering his endowment. When I asked for his rate, he surprised me with "80", and off we went. We spent 30 minutes together, and he was really into satisfying me; VERY generous with his kissing and flexible on all matters oral. Per instructions, I paid 150, which made him happy as well, and departed for my flight. Probably won't be back to POA, but fortunately for me - he generously obliged me with souvenir photos.

  3. Numazu deserves praise if for only livening up boytoy.com as it hits the summer doldrums. I remember the days when Asians took a back seat, and it is thrilling to see Numazu take the lead on a hot topic here. Not only is that thrilling, but his tales are too. Now, if he would just show more than a tease of Gabriel!

  7. A couple more pics that may interest you. This is a standard bathroom in any home in Argentina: As you can see, there is a bidet. It is really unusual an Argentine bathroom without one, and I will never understand how Americans, so focused always in max comfort have not yet acquire this as a national standard. For those into cooking, like my adorable @epigonos, this is one of my favorite traditional dishes in Paraguay and Argentinean Northeast, the mbaipu or mbapy (name from Guaraní, language of the homonymous native nation).

  8. Thanks! If I can inspire anyone to travel because of just knowing about my experiences then I know that writing about them is worth it. Better start traveling, coz the world is huge (and the cocks, and the asses)! Thanks for reading me accurately. Though I would never tell anyone to piss off hehehe. And Tarte's post really wasn't unsavoury at all! Be that as it may, I'm a big boy (trapped in a short asian's body). I can handle it. Muito obrigado meu amor! Do I have a sycophant squad? LOL I need this in my life. He is very very skilled with his fingers... And yes, he has saved me plenty of money this trip. I had a budget in mind of two garotos a day, on top of the 250 reals I intend to pay Gabriel. I obviously did not do this, at least as of the current Day. I still have a few posts left before I wrap up. Oh, and I am also good at math and play two types of instruments... Oh wait, I am all those things. Damn it. Hehe Rob you know me. I told you I started out as a bottom twink in my teens and early 20s and graduated to what I am now. Somehow Brazil is pulling me back to my youth. Which is good I guess. more replies later...

  9. It's too bad it took a lie, a D-minus at creative writing, to lure you into sharing your own revelation. Nonetheless, I enjoyed reading about your future, OneFinger. If one is going to work for a corporation, I can't imagine a better compliment than: "My company really doesn't want me to go." Given that, I'm not surprised you were able to work out a "win-win relationship" moving forward. This sounds like a mutually happy transition. The vast majority of corporate workers don't have these happy stories to share. I'm not a fan of work-causing stress. Stress is no friend to one's health. If you can achieve a less stressful life while still enjoying the financial benefits of working on your own terms, I'd say you hit a home-run. Congratulations. The word retirement is foreign to me. It always sounded like bringing something to an end that you didn't enjoy. A kind of relief. I'm fully aware that most people need to work, but very few truly love the work they do. I consider myself lucky, because I've always loved my work. I was advised early in life to follow my passions, and that financial security would follow me. That's exactly what happened. As long as my brain continues to function, I can produce and create until the day I die. I have no desire or will to stop. I'm hoping the work keeps my brain exercised, while the gym membership works on the body. I've witnessed a few retirees who aged very rapidly and let their mind and body go. Without certain goals and achievements, a sense of vitality and determination can easily disappear.

    Retiring this Friday

I salute you. I'm turning 55 in August and am taking a sabbatical. I wasn't happy at my job and am close to what I need for retirement, so just said "fuck it." and quit. Going to do a fun around the world trip, and then look for something new when I get back starting in August. But I have to say this freedom is pretty intoxicating after 35 years of the grind!

  11. The novel Less, by handsome Andrew Sean Greer, is a humorous tale of a writer who travels the world in order to avoid having to go to his ex-boyfriend's wedding. I finished it last week and enjoyed it all the way. Author Greer is the subject of a profile in today's Washington Post, where he lists the novels that he liked most when coming out: https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/books/andrew-sean-greer-5-books-that-were-important-to-me-when-i-was-coming-out/2018/06/18/37db1df4-6d92-11e8-bd50-b80389a4e569_story.html?utm_term=.13885c19d46e The Author

  12. Larstrup's retirement post encouraged me confess that I'm retiring this Friday, 22 June. I notified my employer after the Christmas holidays and have been working with them on a plan. Currently working in Program Controls on a $1.5B project in San Diego. Have done this kind of work for 35 years and I'm getting burned out. Have been training my replacement for a year and feel he's up to the challenges. My company really doesn't want me to go and we've worked out a win-win relationship. There is a limited amount I can earn each month before it affects my Social Security. The company has agreed to make me a part time employee and let me work by the hour up to the SSA limit. For example, I'm flying back to San Diego the 3rd week of July to work 40 hour and help with month-end reports. Airfare, hotel and transportation are covered by am expense report (not considered income). After that, I can work remotely from our Portland office for up to 40 hours per month. Thank goodness for VPN techology. I've had some significant health issues and need to minimize the stress in my life. Hopefully, the health will improve when the stress is removed. Still own my house in Utah and plan to be there 30% of the time. The other 70% I'll live in my condo in Portland.

Sex workers rallied for Patel, creating a new feeling in his campaign. We can be surprised that more don't oppose this phone attempt to stop sex-trafficking, but grateful that some are shining a light on it. https://www.thedailybeast.com/a-new-york-political-hopefuls-sex-worker-fight?ref=home

In my case, 3 years would be too long FOR ME. If I could make it three months with the same one guy, I’d feel accomplished. So if the guy left me after 3 years, he would be doing me a big favor. I most likely would’ve ended it way before that, and given him the freedom he wants. My philosophy is that if someone would rather not be with you, call them an Uber. But regarding your prenup, one of my best friends from college and his wife of 20+ years went through a divorce involving tens of millions of dollars and a post-nup drawn up during the marriage. It was invalidated by the judge as onerous, one-sided (no consideration given in exchange for the agreement) and unfair to the husband, who had earned far less money than the wife in the final years of the marriage. They ended up doing a multi-million dollar settlement in exchange for alimony.

  21. I am puzzled. I recall that a couple of years ago, or so, you wrote a negative report about sauna Thermas in Barcelona. In your report, you said you were not happy with the dress code requirement and that you left the place shortly after your being advised of the sauna dress code. You said that you were at the sauna only a short time when you departed. You also said you did not engage any of the available hustlers in the sauna. What happened since your report to change your mind for the positive? Good for you that you will give that great sauna another chance. It really is a good sauna.

@sanddunes is quite correct. Interestingly, this happened several times in Spain in the last few years. Older men had met handsome younger men in Cuba. They provided the paperwork and guarantees required, brought them over/married and resettled them in Spain. As soon as the 3 year residency in Spain was completed, the younger man acquired all the legal rights of Spanish citizenship and immediately filed for divorce. In Barcelona alone, I know the younger men in 4 of these cases and each simply views it as 'the older man got what he wanted, and I pleased him for 3 years to get what I wanted'. @SolaceSoul is sensible. FWIW you can (like me) have a very strong pre-nup indeed to which the Courts will have regard if you observe 3 things: - you pay for independent legal advice for the younger man - you make full disclosure of assets and net worth - you get the pre-nup signed well in advance of marriage and not at the last minute In addition, my own high-powered lawyer advised me to offer a very modest allowance for 12 months if the relationship broke down after 3 years

  26. Day 8.5: The Mezzaninu Puzzlement Maybe we got there too late. Maybe there were too many customers tonight. Maybe its because I brought someone more good looking than anyone else in the place. Whatever it was, it just didn’t work out. So for the record, I really really wanted this to materialize. Gabriel has been wanting to fuck someone at the sauna with me, and tonight was our last night together this trip, so it had to happen tonight. After our unexpected but rewarding detour into Rio Grande do Sul’s countryside, we finally made it to Porto Alegre. We decided to skip driving around PA and just drove straight to Localiza to return the car. After navigating through PA’s awful traffic, we return the car with no issue. We get an Uber to get back to the AirBNB. We procrastinate a bit before deciding to go to the mall to get something to eat and do some shopping. We choose Igautemi Shopping this time, and it was a much better mall than Moinhos Shopping. There was a branch of Caracol Chocolates here, though no hot boy manning the store: After lunch we decide to do some quick shopping. I always like doing a small shopping spree with the chosen boy du jour, just because (a) it makes me happy to buy them something, not extravagant stuff, especially if they withstood all my demanding sexual and non-sexual needs, (b) I get a little bit of shopping done myself and (c) because I can. I thought we could do some clothes shopping after Gabriel’s need to borrow my gym shorts and underwear this trip, so we head over to Zara. When I first met up with Gabriel this trip, I noticed that he was head to toe decked out in original Adidas and Nike gear, as well as in possession of what appears to be genuine Louis Vuitton wallet and belt and some nice looking ear studs. He told me the clothes were from one generous client, and the wallet, belt and studs were from another generous client who brought him to LV a month before. Easily upwards of $3000 total for all of that. I told him I won’t be able to match those extravagant gifts for sure. He said it didn’t matter. I eventually bought him a pair of pants (175 reals, $47). He said he needed a new pair for a party he was going to tomorrow. I offered to buy him a matching shirt, but he said he didn’t need anything else. Okie dokie. We window shopped some more at other stores before we realized that it was already 6 PM. It was sauna time! We did not want to miss our window to get the choice boys. We had to go to the sauna tonight. Even if there were Porto Alegre free boys on Grindr available. Even if some of them make the corniest opening pickup lines: We hightail it down to the exit to catch an Uber. At home we showered and made ourselves presentable. Gabriel took my black exercise jacket and wore it. I laughed and asked “What would I wear? It’s cold outside!” He took his trendy adidas sweater and put it on me. It fit quite nicely. I am wearing a jacket that a client bought for him. That’s kind of cool. We get an Uber and off we go. We arrive at the sauna and notice there were a lot more cars parked up front this Friday than previous night on a Tuesday. This was a very good sign. Or not if there were more clients than boys: The receptionist teddy bear greets us and gives us our keys for our lockers. We venture in and notice some more activity this time. We head on over through the hallway to the bar/sitting area/stage/see through shower area to see what was going on. There was a sprinkling of customers here and there, and some younger guys who might be garotos. Again, it was hard to tell who was who. They weren’t stunners for sure. That’s probably why it was hard for me to determine which guy was a garoto or not. I talked to Gabriel about this. He pointed to a couple of guys who were younger than the rest of the folks out here and were in more or less decent shape. “They might be the garotos. I am not sure either.” We laugh at each other’s confusion. Gabriel goes over to the bar to fetch us a couple of waters. Gabriel tells me about his confusion right now. He says that when he works at Club 117 in Rio, he makes it a point to make eye contact with clients, especially those he thinks would be a good fit for his services. Most of the garotos in 117 are like that, he says. I ask him if they were all like this because most of them were Cariocas at 117. He says maybe, but some boys come from all over Brazil. I tell him maybe the Cariocas show them how to be assertive and therefore it made for a more interactive atmosphere at Club 117. He agrees and says that the boys here could need some assertiveness right now. “Maybe you can show them how it’s done,” I tell Gabriel. He laughs. “I could earn so much money right now,” he then says. He takes off his shirt to reveal his golden brown muscular torso. The customers look his way. Yup. He could make a killing here. He sits back down and just laughs. “We can probably try to see if there are more boys on the roof terrace.” I agreed with him. He puts his shirt back on and we go up the stairs to the terrace. There were more people at the terrace this time, as it was a clear night with no rain. I would say the tables were 2/3s occupied, which meant it was a pretty good turn out. We sit at the far end and just people watch while sipping waters: Gabriel points to some boys who were clearly garotos and asked me if any of them would be good for our threeway. I take a look at them and was on the fence. They were just not standing out for me. I tell Gabriel my criteria for the night: the boy should be at least as good looking as my Grindr hookup this morning. Since I’m paying, there is no sense getting someone less attractive than someone I can get for free. It made sense to Gabriel, so we kept on looking. We then see this gorgeous guy emerge from the bar. He was about 5’8 – 5’9, probably mid-20s. Lighter hair and lighter eyes. Gorgeous tattoos. In a towel and you can see some ab definition there. Again, not like Gabriel’s precision laser cut abs, but you know, better than my own loaf of bread. He sat down with a customer. “Pity,” I tell Gabriel. The one possible guy here in this whole establishment is with a customer. Gabriel tries to assess the situation. “Maybe we can wait to see if the client is wrapping up his programa,” he says optimistically. After 5 minutes the boy and his client leave their table. I guess it was the start of their programa instead of the end of it. Oh well, we got nothing but time. We check out the other boys, and I was close to pulling the trigger a bunch of times, but didn’t. I was holding out hope for the gorgeous guy. If any of the other guys would show initiative by going up to us to say hi, I might have hired them. But no one did. Some of them just sat there, staring into space. Gabriel takes my phone and looks at our photos from Gramado and Canela. He picked the ones he liked and sends it to his own Whatsapp. I had a ton of other photos in there. Lots from Chaturbate models from Colombia, most of them naked, some of them videos. When Gabriel sees a photo or video he likes, he asks me who it was and where was it taken. He goes through a lot of the photos. After about 30 minutes of just hanging out we get bored. The gorgeous boy and client are taking their sweet time. We decide to head back down the stage area to see if there were any new things happening. We get there and it was deserted. Gabriel was confused and livid at the same time. “What is wrong with this sauna?” He says. The bartender, who heard Gabriel’s statement, asked him if everything was alright. Gabriel says yes, but then asks where the boys were? The bartender introduces himself to Gabriel and me. Gabriel then tells the bartender that he was from Rio and knows how a Rio sauna looks like and operates, and is nothing like the sauna here. He didn’t say specifically that he was a garoto I think. I am not sure what the bartender thought but it was irrelevant. Gabriel tells the bartender that the boys in CLub 117 are more assertive, as the go up to the client and shake their hand, and usually has a spiel ready to make small talk, just to make a sale happen. He says that the boys here are passive and not as warm. I chime in the conversation and tell the bartender than my first time going to 117, I was overwhelmed by how forward the garotos were, but I appreciated the aggressive welcome, even if it was jarring at first (foi surpresa). Its easier to assess who to hire if you are up close and personal instead of just looking in a distance. The bartender surprisingly approves of our observations. He says sometimes he wishes the boys were more engaging with the customers. It would mean more business for the sauna. He also said that it was slow season this month. It was rainy, it was cooler. It was typically slower. And tomorrow is the sauna’s main day, he says. Saturdays are always super busy here. Lots of garotos, lots of customers. He advises us to come back tomorrow in the late afternoon so we have our pick of the boys. Gabriel laments that this was our last night in PA, and tomorrow we fly to Rio and Sao Paulo, respectively. The bartender says that the two cities we mentioned have better saunas anyway, so we are probably better off heading there instead of here. That doesn’t help us now. We ask the bartender about the gorgeous guy garoto. He immediately figures out who it was we were talking about and tried to look for him high and low in the building. He came back and says he couldn’t find him, as he might still be with a customer. That programa is really taking a long time. He must be good. We stick around for a while and keep the bartender company. After that we head up back upstairs to check to see if the boy was there. He wasn’t. I guess it just wasn’t meant to be. We start heading to reception to pay our bill. Two waters and two entrance fees. I fire up Uber and wait 7 minutes for our ride. Just like last time, while we wait, Gabriel goes behind me and wraps his arms around me. Again, he looks over my shoulder and talks to the receptionist. “Have you seen this boy we were trying to look for all night?” The receptionist said that he has left just 10 minutes ago. Gabriel and I just laugh. “It is just the two of us tonight,” Gabriel tells me. That was just fine by me. Maybe it was because Gabriel was with me. Maybe because I was too picky. Maybe it's because all the good garotos were taken tonight. Whatever it was, I will go back here, next time I find myself in PA. This was definitely a missed opportunity, and one that I will try to make right in a future trip. Our Uber comes. We get to the apartment. We strip off our clothes and make out naked. We spend three hours talking and laughing and sucking and rimming and fucking and cumming. That was just fine by me. Sauna: 2 Laziness: 1 Hot boy tour of the city: 4 Act of god: 1

However, since my retirement, I have been plagued with health issues, spend most of my time at doctors and taking medicine, and havent yet been able to enjoy the fruits of my labor. Before I retired, people used to joke, sure you work your whole life, then you retire and DIE soon after. Now I understand, maybe they werent joking ? Jack Was Here

Jack Was Here is one of my latest finds in the area of Novels set in Thailand. It is not a gay-themed story, but if you are like me after a few visits to Thailand, a good novel set in the Land of Smiles appeals. There are few quality novels that do have a gay theme. If you can live without that and just relish reading about things, places, and events in Thailand, then Jack Was Here might be for you. I sure liked it. A summary of the story can be found at this link: http://www.andrewlownie.co.uk/authors/christopher-bardsley/books/jack-was-here In short, though, a 19-year old backpacker goes missing in Thailand, and his parents have not had good luck in trying to find him. Enter Hugh Fitzgerald, a soldier who returns to his Australian home with PTSD. Hugh needs something to do, and the family hires him to find Jack. Hugh follows his own rules. The adventure he encounters brings us to various parts of Thai life, and to Thai people. Soon Hugh finds that drug lords may know where Jack is. I had a great time going with Jack into Thailand and Malaysia. When he saw bar girls, I saw bar boys. It worked for me! It's a great story that kept my attention start to finish.

  34. That is why Heinz makes so many varieties. Thank goodness. I would puke if I had to have sex with someone with facial hair. And, all the Thai guys I have been with have pubic hair but they have very little ass hair. I like a nice smooth ass. For kissing, a beard is just not for me. But, as you say, to each his own. My trips to Thailand are not for sex. I partake rarely as I have a long term BF who makes me quite happy. He does have somewhat of a mustache that he shaves for me and ass hair but I care for him so I tolerate it. However, some are turned off by his MANY tattoos but for me, they are a real turn on. Give me a bad boy any day of the week and if they are ghetto, I'm always down.

    RIP Lurkerspeaks

I shared LurkerSpeaks penchant for Insomnia. So I was awake when I got a mysterious pm at 2 a.m. asking me if I knew of any family contacts for him. This was after telling him repeatedly to stop messing about with OCT meds and go to a clinic (and giving him the name of a recommended clinic) a few days ago. On Sunday he confirmed that he was at the clinic. And then no further communication from LurkerSpeaks. I asked a mutual friend to investigate and this morning I got confirmation of my fear. Much thanks to TotallyOz for doing this for our community. I have lost a dear personal friend as well a fellow Hoovillian. I have been trying to process this sad news all day The fact that he left this world on the eve of his birthday makes this all the more tragic. LurkerSpeaks died as I hope to die. On an adventure! May he now rest in peace.
