  1. I visited this new bar yesterday. You can see the owner invested a lot of money. I see 2 problems with the bar: location and clothing. The first one is the location: easy to find for regular visitors of the bar scene, but totally impossible to find for newcomers. The boys were wearing some kind of uniform: jeans, blue shirt and white sneakers. Well, not really a uniform as all had different ones. In other bars, boys are shirtless now. About 10 boys on stage, average looking. Not so many customers, but they had one beside me who ordered bottle of alcohol and was pampered by the staff. When you've visited Patpong bars, it is worth a visit, but not top priority.

You forgot one important advantage of bars over apps: 4 You get the boy immediately (ok maybe you have to go back to the hotel). With apps you don't know, a whether you will get an answer at all b how much time it takes to get an answer, which can be from immediately to several weeks c when the boy has time to come to your hotel if at all d if he will find your hotel and how many hours he will be late

  3. Please, notice that although my original plan was an intensive exploration of the local escorts market through mileroticos and Fercho, the things went in a different direction. I hired only two escorts. One from mileroticos, one from Grindr and @macdaddi's recommendation. For my next trip, I think I will make an experiment. To me, there is nothing like a GP Brazilian sauna. The sex you can have there sucks, but you can try whether or not the candidates are a good match, and then meet them in a more private and comfortable location. Up to my knowledge, there is nothing alike in Medellín. So I will try a substitute. I will sit in Adonde Aquellos or Chiquita, open my hooking apps, and invite boys to my table. Let's see how that goes. Last time I was there I was not alone, and had to reject many yummy offers. My Grindr was in flames with boys asking me to be invited.

  4. I went to Colombia this march for 2 weeks and as it was my first trip there and i asked a few people a lot of advice I feel that I shhould share a bit about the trip The trip was a week in Bogota and a week in Cartagena I started in Bogota and booked a hotel in chapinero which seemed like the right place lots of gay nightlife and a lot of escorts around. Bogota is a great city people are friendly and its very easy to find boys there. I speak no spanish and it seemed like noone spoke much english aside from a few people at some of the tourist attractions. That makes it harder as a solo traveler I think if i was travelling with a likeminded friend i would have had a blast in bogota. The boys I ended up taking to the hotel I met online I am not a big nightife fan and prefer a good fuck and a dinner to a night boozing. There were tons of goodlooking boys and they were eager to meet up. Making plans for several days ahead turned out to be almost impossible prehaps its a language or culture thing but i found it was better to look for the boy when you needed him and take who was available. All chat is on whatsapp and google translate was all i used and it worked well. Spent the second week in Cartagena where there were quite few rentboys on the sites and none in my flavour bracket ( twinks) but with the help of a spanish speaking forum member i had set up my grindr profile and soon i had a lot of messages and I ended up going out with a nice dark student while was there i had booked a cheap hotel and had no problems bringing him there Cartagena is a lovely town the old town is beautiful and the food in the resturants is great and reasonably priced I really enjoyed the city and prehaps its also because i had a great 18 at my side there who spoke a good deal of english which made it all a lot more fun. Generally a lot more people spoke english in Cartagena so it was easier to communicate. So all in all a great trip a little more hassle finding boys than in thailand but great sex with very passionate lovers even when you are paying

  5. I am sure we have all seen movies that for one reason or another become totally fixed in our minds. Of the most lighthearted ones, I will never forget the first times I saw Cabaret and Victor Victoria. Both remain almost crystal clear in my mind as I have aged. I have been interested to realise over the years that when showing these movies to a younger generation of Thais, they too have enjoyed them - sometimes hugely. I write as I have just seen another on one of the TrueVisions channels. The Reader, with a screenplay by the masterly David Hare and excellently directed by Stephen Daldry, was one of two movies for which the incomparable Kate Winslett was nominated for Best Actress in 2009. Many thought she'd win for Revolutionary Road, the tale of a desperately bored housewife in suburban America with dreams of moving to Paris with her boring and almost equally as bored husband played by Leonardo di Caprio. But she won for The Reader. I believe justifiably so. Set in the mid-1950s, in the movie she plays a mid-30s German tram conductor, Hanna Schmidt. Returning early one evening, she finds a young schoolboy of 15, clearly sick, sitting in the entrance to her apartment block. She cleans him up and takes him back close to his home where he is discovered to have scarlet fever. But he cannot forget Hanna. After his three month recuperation, he returns with flowers to thank her. She is distant and hardly grateful. She asks that he goes down to the coal cellar to collect two buckets of coal. Returning covered in coal dust, she runs a bath for him. With youthful bashfulness he strips off and luxuriates in the bath. Then Hanna is standing by the bath with a towel and we witness the first of what essentially are sex scenes with, had the Thai censors not been so active, considerably nudity. David Kross, the 18 year old German actor who then played the young Michael. looks gorgeous! There follow a number of scenes when he admits he is very much in love with Hanna, even though there is such a difference in their ages. It is, he tells her, his first time being with a woman and clearly he enjoys every minute of it! Even so, Hanna remains distant, her only desire that he read to her. Initially after sex; then prior to sex. One day he runs up to her apartment only to find it totally empty. She has disappeared. As one in the full bloom of first love, he is naturally heartbroken. Some years later as a law student studying the Holocaust, he sees her again. Unknown to him she had been an SS guard in Auschwitz during the war and is being tried along with 5 other guards with the ghastly murder of more than 200 children under their care. Watching her trial Michael is horrified and transfixed. Questioned by the Chief Judge, Hanna seems openly honest and truthful, but yet evasive. Only Michael had finally learned her other secret that, were she to confess it to the Court, could mitigate her sentence. But she is too stubborn. She remains silent. Finally he goes to see her in jail. At the last minute he gets cold feet and walks away. Hanna gets life in prison. As the film fast forwards. Ralph Fiennes as the older Michael has clearly been unable to forget Hanna. After some 20 years he goes to visit her. She has changed immeasurably, but his feelings clearly have not. Ever since meeting her he has been virtually unable to convey his feelings even to the wife he divorced and the daughter he loves. Only as the movie ends does he begin to open up. I find it a haunting movie - and not just because Kate Winslet is wonderful and David Kross is so tempting! It's largely about the choices we make in life and the way we communicate or not with others. It's also special as two of the producers were themselves so special in the world of filmmaking. Both died during production - the greats, Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella.

  6. Totally agree that Thailand has so much to see outside the main cities and tourist spots. There are also lots of local events that are stunning and quite unique to Thailand. I have referred before to the Candle Festival in Ubon Ratchathani and the Ghost Festival in the village of Dansai in Loei Province. These both take place during the period of Buddhist Lent and so usually the June/July period. Although there is occasional rain, it is not the main rainy season. The Ubon Festival is not a procession of townsfolk parading through with hand-held candles. For about a month beforehand, each temple prepares massive wax carvings on trucks. These depict scenes from Buddhist scriptures. About 30 or so of these form the main part of the Parade which also includes participation by thousands including many cute students from the local university. There are many ghost festivals around Thailand but Dansai is I believe the largest and most popular. Loei is a lovely green province where the weather is generally little cooler. There is even a large vineyard. The only problem for visitors to the Festival is the lack of good hotel rooms in or very close to the village. There really is only one on the hill above the village and so it needs to be booked far in advance. Many visitors stay in Loei which is about 1 hr 20 minutes away and go by tourist bus.

    Reporting from Bratislava

First time ever: as I walked into my hotel room, a sexy no-nonsense guy grindered me, and 20 minutes later he was in my bed. Other than that: No gay clubs or saunas here. He told me locals take a 50 mnts train ride to Vienna for that kind of fun. I was propositioned by 3 not-for-me locals, and 2 from Vienna who r now awaiting my arrival there Monday. Read somewhere that Bratislava is (was?) the porn capital of Bel Ami. Where r all those sexy guys?

    Stash that gold

Experienced travelers shouldn't have to be reminded that it's not wise to wear gold necklaces, watches or anything that advertises their wealth. That doesn't, however, seem to be the case as incidents are not becoming any less common. From Pattaya News Two Indian tourists claimed that their gold necklace was stolen, allegedly by two transgender individuals who approached and hugged them. This, in fact, was the 3rd time the hugging-and-stealing incidents happened in Pattaya recently. On May 6th, around 02.30 a.m. this morning, Puttharak Sonkhamhan, Deputy Inspector from the Pattaya Police Station, responded to a thievery report at second Pattaya road, Nong Prue sub-district, Bang Lamung, Chonburi. At the incident scene, Mr. Pravin Suresh Sutrave, a 43-year-old Indian businessman, was reportedly in shock and told the police that he was roaming around when two transgender individuals approached him and his friend, trying to seduce him and hugging him. Mr. Pravin said he refused and pushed the individuals off who then rode away on their motorcycle. However, he realized that his gold necklace worth 37,000 baht was stolen and immediately called the police. Initially, Pattaya police came to investigate the crime scene and requested security camera footage nearby to track down the suspects. They affirmed to catch the suspects as soon as possible to restore the Pattaya tourism image. TPN notes that the suspects in the two prior recent theft incidents, also described as two transgender individuals, have yet to be arrested. It is unclear if the same parties are responsible.

    Reporting from Budapest

I was there two midweek nights. Checked out the saunas at 6-9. I m a 65 y/o caucasian; not unattractive. Magnum sauna: After entering I was told "payment when leaving". Fortunately so. There were about 10 men around, looking older than me. In less than a minute I made an immediate U turn, and left. I wasn't charged the €17 entrance fee. Sauna 69: €13 fee. Impressive place; big; spacious; very comfortable loung; immaculately clean. Jaccuzi not hot. 3 oldies and 3 young guys walking around stone-faced, sometimes watching the porn screens. No interactions. Left after an hour. The nice receptionist was honest: "it's better on Saturdays". CoXx men's bar: Google says it opens at 9; went there at 10; was told by the 'receptionist' that things get going only at 11. Didn't wait. Apps: Was propositioned by 3 hot youngsters in Grindr and Romeo. One asked for "support"; insisted I set the sum. I was surprised he was ok with my trial baloon: 10,000 Florint = €26. We set the details, but he flaked; as did another. I met with the third, who was really hungry after a month of no sex. Didn't see any escorts on hunqz. There were 15 on rentmen. The very few posting rates: incall - 120; outcall - 145; overnight 800-1000.

    Bangkok has changed...

Just came back from Bangkok and it has definitely changed due to Covid... Patpong night market is GONE Went by Khaoson Rd on Sunday night...the club side was great....the other street with all the restaurants and massage parlors...super quiet and slow My favorite massage spot in the area didn't make it nor did the one I frequented near Patpong Great shopping as always, Chatuchak Market was lively and very busy on Sunday Malls are still amazing although MBK has also changed dramatically... I have about 8 massages in the span of 6 days including the first night that I had to wait for my test results... Overall a great trip... Looking to go back soon... No hot sex, as usual since I am not attracted to Thais and NO happy endings...Im sure I could have got that...

  11. So, Picard Season 2 is a SLOOOG but the last episode kinda pays it off. Not sure it was worth it at all. Way better than Picard Season 1 but so's watching dogshit turn white on the curb. HOWEVER, Strange New Worlds has be EXCELENT so far! --Anson Mount ME. Station 11, eh, interesting. The Offer on Paramount Plus seems amazing, it's about the making of The Godfather and a great glimpse into Hollywood of the time.

  12. I am going to add a couple of things to consider regarding hiring from Mileroticos. Note that @Latbear4blk recently posted extensively on this subject here and has reviews on his website. 1. The men that advertise on Mileroticos are pros. It is a paid listing service and these guys make a living escorting. So you can expect a professional experience where you will be asked what you want and the escort will deliver that. Full stop. Many of the men that post on Milerotics move around Colombia from city to city working the circuit (like your friend Maycol) as they develop regular customer relationships that pay their bills. Some even work out of client homes and vacation apartments (this is common in Cartagena). 2. The other listings (Skokka, Escorts Colombia, etc.) and the apps (Grindr, Scruff, Hornet and A4A) offer a large selection of men that escort on the side to earn additional cash. Look for keywords like Disponible, sólo solventes, or masaje which are generally dead giveaways that the guy is escorting. You will find many students in this category as Medellin has several large universities and students gotta eat. I would also add Ferchos Masajes to this category -- men that need to earn some cash and Fercho managing the process for them. Happy travels.

In an argument above I'm more in reader's camp but on another hand I'm afraid Z909 represents prevailing view. While I find guys in jeans sexy if they don't start undressing slowly but surely distinction between bar and street may be lost. And so will reason to pay 400 baht for 43 baht bottle of beer. But our view, one of farangs who renewed their drivers license many times may be one of minority. Majority of customers , after covid debacle ends will be likely younger Asians and they may look at things differently. Entertainment may mean different thing to different people too. As for myself, too loud a music chases me from bar faster than completely dressed twinks, others may run away at the very sight of boys in jeans. Lack of smiles on Jupiter guy's faces is more painful for me than their bodies covered etc

I think you've made a strong case why you shouldn't go to the bars where the guys on stage are wearing pants. You're evidently doing quite well on the apps. For me--and a fair number of others--the bars remain attractive options even if the young men aren't scampering around in their underwear. Not unlike the boys in massage shops, they wouldn't be there if they didn't want to meet those of us who come through the door. I find men in jeans a perfectly acceptable arrangement. It's not my first rodeo so I have a fairly reliable idea of what looms underneath. And if I don't find out for sure until I take the guy back to my room, that's fine, too. Sort of akin to the excitement of unwrapping a gift. Not that I'd walk out of a place where those on stage were in briefs--or less, but there's a hell of lot you can't determine just by looking at a guy in his underwear. To determine whether he has a playful approach to his job, or brings passion to the meeting, or satisfies your individual needs, you need to sit down with him. Sure, it will probably cost you 350 baht (50 of which goes to the boy) but that's what help covers the overhead. As for Fresh Boys, I'd be pleased to find that they're fielding a crew that represents a cross section of Asian men of different ethnicity, size and appearance. It's that great diversity that I'm looking for in any bar.

The Pattaya News is reporting that the Thailand Health Ministry plans to propose lowering the national Covid alert level from 3 to 2 at the next meeting of the Center for Covid Administration on May 20. Level 2 means that the public can mostly resume life almost as normal to the pre-Covid period. More preventive measures will be relaxed and more businesses will be reopened or fully operated. This may include the (legal) return of entertainment venues and some relaxed measures at outside venues like parks and beaches, such as mask mandates in certain settings.

  25. The green massage is still there, but I think it was closed in April. The shops across the road were open. There were a couple of massage shops open along Surrawong Rd, some more open on Silom soi 6, and I think a shop or two open around Silom soi 4. Things are changing rapidly so I don't want to recount my troubles finding the type of guys I like, but take a walk in those areas in the late afternoon/evening.

    Nice boys advice

Indeed, I remember at the Golden Cock, watching a farang being sucked off at the bar, while having a beer! Boys on the sofas, cocks out, encouraging you to pick them and go upstairs, with the hand rail that was not fastened to the wall. Had some good times there!

    Restaurant Tips

Re Le Bouchon, we dined there yesterday evening. It felt a little strange as we kept trying to work out where the Babylon entrance and staircases had been! We found nothing familiar. Not surprising since it had been a ladies spa and another business since Babylon moved out to the larger premises further down the soi about two decades earlier. We had heard mixed reports about both the food and the service. Some of the staff from the old location on Patpong 2 were still there and they were excellent. Three tall, younger Thai ladies were rather dumb but we assume they will learn. Once seated and with our drinks, everything moved up quite a few notches. We both thought the food was excellent, especially a starter with Hokkaido scallops. The salmon was also near perfection. My plentiful chocolate mousse for dessert had a lovely chocolatey taste and a nice consistency. My partner's Creme Brûlée was as good. Price for a three course meal plus aperitifs and a glass of wine each was 1,900 baht for two. Good value even if on the slightly pricey side. The present menu will be gradually expanded as the staff get into their stride. We were told that the set lunch at 480 baht++ is packed virtually every day. Last night it was around three-quarters full. Closed every Tuesday.
