  1. Meeting my boyfriend in Pattaya two decades ago was one of the best things that happened in my life. And there are other posters who have been similarly blessed. Yes, there are gold-diggers, as there are here in the UK. I'd visited Thailand on thirty occasions before we met and even then, it took a year before I even considered using the word love. It could happen to anyone. For those nine years as a butterfly, I swore I'd never fall for a Thai guy- I was having too much fun. Now look at me! Still besotted!

For several years the Taipei Pride Parade has been fixed as the last Saturday in October - so Saturday 28 this year. Note that in addition to the Parade there are various parties during the weekend. These get booked out quickly and there will always be queues outside the venues with guys hoping to get in. All gay venues will be packed. Even the hot spring. Some years ago when Chuan Tang was the 'in' gay hot spring (the management changed the policy soon after), I went on to the hot spring after the Parade. I had never before had to queue. This Saturday it took a good 20 minutes just to gt through the door and then another 25 minutes to get to the lockers. When I looked over to my left to see the main pool, I was surprised that i could not see any water - merely a vast array of naked bodies! The point about hotels is worth considering. Taipei's Pride weekend atrracts gay guys not only from all over Asia but also from Taiwan itself. Added to the usual tourist numbers, the cheaper and more popular hotels can get booked up fast. For those who have not read about the Parade before, here are a few photos some of which I have posted before. Many participants assemble at Peace Park to prepare. They then move to the large open space at Taipei City Hall Square. This is the assembly point and also the destination. At the end there is a concert in the Square with usually some gay Taiwanese and Hong Kong singers. Because of the nuimbers attending, the route in pre-covid years was been split into three. So you have to decide which one you will follow. All will be packed with cute guys, but only one is likely to have the Speedo/Aqux boys. Keep your eyes peeled!

Yeah, it can definitely be called the Asia Gay Pride as it's gets around 7-10 more people than other Asian cities that hold a parade like: Tokyo, Bangkok, Manila, etc. Soi13 during that weekend is the same as that hot spring Peter described,. Packed with naked hot bodies. I remember the year before Covid started between the sauna and the apps I got not just local guys but also guys from: Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, Japan and mainland China. All of them were in town just for the pride, so definitely hotels get fully booked and the rates are higher than normal. If I remember it correctly they stopped doing that in 2019. Let's see what the program will be this year. Here are some of my pics from the years I've gone there:

Just came across this place. It's located near MRT Blue Line Charan 13 station. It has a Twitter site but if I link it here it will consume excessive space. Here's a sample of posted staff photos.

I was in Rio in December and I always use Smart Fit, day pass BRL $24.90. I looked into monthly pass on previous trips but believe you need CPF number but day pass is cheap enough anyway. Smart Fit in Ipanema is very gay. But there are Smart Fits all over Copacabana.

Christ, I hope you’re kidding. Or maybe you live under a rock? 5 officers have been charged with his murder (it was a simple traffic stop), and another was just fired for his role. But let’s move along, no police corruption to see here!

  10. Quite a few Asian BLs are subbed on an amateur level, but this one takes the cake: One could probably practice comprehension of MB scene English while watching this show. I should add that I’m grateful for any and all subtitles, including this one, as they make watching these shows possible.

    Athens Report

Update for January 2023 and thank you to the OP and all of the other posts: The peri post COVID world is a very different place. I had great luck on Grindr with regular guys as in the past. I think I only saw 1 pay for play boy and I was not interested. In Athens the Kosmopolit Cinema is closed. There are folks hanging out in the alley away from Onomia Square and towards the police station half a block away. Usually only 1-4 at a time, and I assume mostly druggies. There is one nice looking guy from pre COVID days that does hang out in front of the Cosmopolit Hotel occasionally. He also hangs out with the druggies too, LOL. Sometimes the police hang out in this area and thus there is no trade to be had. The hotel can still be used by the hour. 30 E for the guy and 10 E for the hotel. Only saw a very other folks hanging around and possibly plying trade in this area and towards Omonia Square sort of at the side of the Hondos Center and alley / street. Another hotel by the hour is the youth hostel on a perpendicular street about 2 blocks away. 10 E for 1 hour. Only saw women hanging out for trade here. The park north of the archeological museum still has some action, but far less than in the old days. The park is moderately large and I only walked around the several block areas near the Athena statue and entrance Konstantinos on horseback statue. Not sure of the cost, as I was not interested in those offering pay for play. Several potential boys never got away from their cell phones to say hi. All of the guys seemed to be in their 20s - 40s. Be aware that lots of kids and families now hang out in the park. Very few did in the past, when druggies predominated. Several times I did see some truly hot guys but going into the hotels with a client or likely on the way to meet a client. I do not speak greek or arabic and I think this is what those boys spoke. Never saw these boys again. Never sought trade in the big park near Plaka that folks talk about. Never sought trade much after sunset in a park. Also, too cold to do this at midnight. Samy's Bar is open, but I did not go there 1 am on a Friday / Saturday night. In the past, this general area had folks plying trade. Did not see anything obvious on this trip. Also did not see any places with "open" doors for folks to romp around in this trip. I would guess the local politicians have invested major resources to clean the area up. I had good luck at a very clean adult porn theatre about a 10 minute walk west of Cosmo. Just average horny guys, no pay for play. About 7-10 E entry fee. There is a grimier adult cinema perhaps 25 meters from the Economy Hotel, the one closet to the corner and perpendicular to the hotel, not the adjacent one a bit further away. Another porn places faces the Economy, but seemed permanently closed. Wow, had lots of fun here. One guy, likely in his 40s was about 10 E, others wanted more. Usually only 1-4 boys when I went and sometimes 1 or 2 were asleep sometimes on a couch or in the main theatre, LOL. Some spoke some English, others spoke no English, French, Spanish or German. Guys always asked for more when paying. Up to 30 E. There is an upper level and a lower level with lockable door rooms, but you need a cell phone for lighting, as there is none otherwise. One guy stole about 25 E from me and accosted me in the locked room as he wanted far more than agreed to. So be warned, some of this is rough trade. Despite screaming, no one will try to assist you. Did tell the guy who takes your 5 E entry so he could make sure the guy does not come in again. Also had the best sex in Athens trip with another boy to follow !! We had another romp a few days later in a hotel for an hour. Couple weeks later he calls me on what's app trying to get me to send him money, LOL. I mostly was looking from around 1400-1800 hrs in the park and Cosmo areas and as late as 2000 hrs at the cinema by Economy. All in all, despite a bit of danger, I had fun

I echo all @fedssocr comments. A few years ago I did one of the organised 5-day round-the-island coach tours staying at very good hotels. I was amazed at how beautiful the island is, having earlier only visited Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung. We started at Sun Moon Lake where in addition to a large hot spring pool in the basement, each room had its own mini-hot spring pool! Sun Moon Lake We then drove down south of Kaohsiung to the far south coast with its crystal clear water and visiting the main Buddhist monastery before returning to Kahsiung for the night. From there we moved over to the East Coast and worked our way up to the stunning Taroko Gorge where our hotel was virtually at the top of the Gorge. Much of the upper part of the East coast looks rather like parts of the north coast of the Hawaiian Islands. Returning to Taipei is quick as the road goes through several long tunnels. You can do all these sights on your own and save quite a bit of cash. I just wanted to be lazy for a few days to sit back and enjoy the island in comfort.

  15. Covid changed things and one thing that is good is that there are now massage services that deliver guys to your door. I normally get them for 3k all inclusive and that is an OK rate if I don't want to travel. Specifically, Homespa, 24m, 15m, and Intra all do delivery. Kman and KK are hit and miss depending on the guys. Does anyone else know if places that delivery consistently?

My first was 2011. I had not heard about the Parade until a year earlier when I checked in to my hotel. There on the front page of the newpaper on my desk were photos of the previous day's ParadeI decided there and then I would be take part in 2011. In total I have been to 7 Parades. I had to miss 2015 for business reasons and 2019 since i had returned from a tiring European trip just the previous evening. I just checked flights and hotels for this coming October. Already prices have gone up.

Outdoors not for faint of heart past few weeks, mercury consistently veering to 30C by morning traffic rush; “feels like 35” kind of thing. Hottest in 8-year memory. I’ve been doing my beach boardwalk brisk steps at dawn in Rio or in Recife approaching sunset when the condo towers shade the Boa Viagem strip. Been doing gym resistance training on per diem $6USD basis rather than weeklies because I stagger those routines and have been moving around somewhat. Bottom line, just search academia, in whatever location and swing by one or more as they are ubiquitous. It is unlikely you would be staying within easy access to my neighbourhood. Some gyms are more flexible than others wrt time period contracts. I once requested a one-month membership and the facility tried to charge me for a year. I had mentioned that I would probably return within a one-year period block but naturally only wanted short-term contracts. The manager was fluently bilingual but my sense was he thought that there was a chance that I would not object when I saw the receipt after payment. I had foolishly entered my senha and then endured the rigamarole of a card credit. He was wrong, unless my hot trainer were to throw in a programa or two. Incidentally, the facility was small, crowded, off prime drag in a far from tony zone and evidently not hurting.

Seems also a much smaller crowd. I went there from 2017-2019 and I remember the crowds getting bigger year after year. I knew that in 2019 there were almost 200K participants, but was a bit surprised to read on Wiki that they had 120K last year when Taiwan had just opened up and the entry rules were not very clear, so it was mostly locals. Still it means that there are at least 50K visitors in Taipei during pride weekend. By far the biggest gay gathering in Asia, ahead of the White party and Songran in Bangkok.

I don't know this to be true...I've heard this so many times that it could be urban legend. Some saunas make the boys enter as a client their 1st time until they prove themselves....I've been in with random hookups that entered as a boy so to pay the cheaper cover. And I've gone in with sauna boys that paid as a client so they could keep their street clothes on. The only verification I'm aware of is that if they have a big dick, Junior or Rodolfo want to know them personally first 😬

To be clear, all Club 117 knows thus far (because of their cameras) is that Kadu did not LEAVE the club with a garoto from 117. Until the perpetrator can be ID’d, no one knows for certain who it was (hopefully, the motel where he was found murdered has similar video cameras and makes copies of all ID cards, but it’s possible that they don’t).

@pauleiroOMG! That is so sad and tragic. I was warned about traveling to Brazil before my first visit and was skeptical about going because of some of the violent things i had heard and seen on social media. then i discovered this forum and was happy to see all the positive posts about brazil and its legion of hot guys. If you are a new traveler and havent been to rio, please go. just be careful as you would in any country including your own. Fortunately, I dont have to travel alone, but im still cautious even though im with my husband. sometimes you let your guard down and slip because we get relaxed after having a good time and the alcohol begins to kick in. Plan that trip and go have a good time. There are a few safety videos on youtube regarding brazil. I also watched those and they helped calm my fears. Times are hard for people all over the world and people are becoming more desperate to make or steal a dollar even if it means taking someones life to get it. Dont make yourself a target by wearing jewelry, expensive clothes, shoes, watches, etc. In one of the STRAIGHT travel groups im in on social media some guy was robbed last week because he wore his expensive chain in colombia. He was a big guy with a tour guide and 2 friends with him. After his chain was snatched, he lunged at the guy and the robber quickly pulled out a firearm, but didnt fire it. a 38 year old attorney was robbed and killed a few weeks ago in chile because he was in the wrong neighborhood taking pictures. go go go. you will love brazil. when leaving 202, my husband and i call for an uber and wait upstairs on the 2nd floor until the car arrives. we both wear undergarment waist pouches that cant be seen. we each take one credit card and only take enough money for 2 sex romps while at the sauna. we also wear cargo shorts and keep our cell phones in the lower pockets buttoned up. we also take collapsible canes as a deterent when were out at night. who knows if it works, but it gives us piece of mind and might make someone think twice about mugging us. In these desperate times a mugger wouldnt give a ish. also, try to get a an apartment that has around the clock security and be extremely friendly to the front door attendant. if we go eat, i ask the attendant if theyre hungry and would like for us to bring them food back. believe me, this goes a very long way with them and a quick and easy way to make an alli to help keep you safe. If youre a horny slut like me then only getting sex in the club wont be enough. you can ask the front desk clerk to take your visitors identification and only give it back if they personally get a call from you. as stated by other travelers in this group, dont make yourself a target and always be aware of your surroundings. its also a very good idea to maybe meet some other travelers in this group to travel and hang out with them, if they allow. I know this is done in a lot of groups on social media. someone who is traveling for the first time to another country will post in the forum and meet up with other guys who are traveling at the same time. dont allow fear to overtake you and miss out on the fun that many of the contributors in this forum are engaging in. trust me, we keep going back to these countries for good reason. the good far outweighs the bad. dont forget to check out some of these youtube videos. they helped me to overcome my fears https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0GGmpGpoAc

  27. Pattaya Koh Larn island trip report - November 2022 This is my trip report to Koh Larn from Pattaya. It is written for those who might want to venture over to this beautiful island for a day trip or to stay a couple of nights like we did. I travelled with 2 of my Thai friends, as it was one of their birthday’s, hence these chosen dates. Why Koh Larn? Because you may want to get away from the hustle & bustle of busy Pattaya to stay at some truly beautiful beaches that have transparent blue turquoise clean water with nice white sand. As we know, most of Pattaya, and lesser so, Jomtien beaches have brownish water, consequently making it sometimes difficult to enjoy a true pleasant beach experience that Thailand is known for. Note, that Koh Larn is NOT at the level of beauty of Koh Samui or Phuket – but for only being 20 to 30 minutes away from Pattaya – it is a nice quick and easy substitute for them. Day ONE - Monday 21 November 2022 We took a Grab taxi from Jomtien over to the Bali Hali Pier in Pattaya. At the pier, there are many offerings for private tours via speed boat (costing thousands of Thai baht) and also transport via speed boat for ฿150 baht per person one way. We opted for the speedboat transportation modality, which takes 20 minutes. Note that if you continue towards the pier you can buy a ฿30 baht one way fare on the ferry boat, which takes 40 to 45 minutes. Note ferry schedule below – there are 2 destinations available – Naban Port which faces Pattaya, and Tawaen Beach which faces west into the Gulf of Thailand. http://kohlarn.com/getting-to-koh-larn.html The speedboat ride was quite enjoyable, as the sea was calm – consequently there were not many bumps. If you find that the sea is rough, then I would suggest that you instead take the ferry. Each of us wore a life vest – including all of the other passengers. After exiting the speedboat onto the floating pier, you will be almost immediately solicited for room rentals, taxis, and motorbike rentals. My 2 Thai friends had already reserved us a place in a 2 unit bungalow that they really liked (from previous trips) because it is isolated and private and still within the Naban village. We walked about 5 to 6 minutes south from the pier (as indicated in the below map) to where my 2 friends were greeted by a friendly Thai lady who acted as the broker for our 2 sleeping accommodations, which included 2 motorbikes (1 per unit). The price was ฿1,500 baht per unit and we always took 2 units – as I like to sleep alone. This is our first night accommodation. Simple – but nice and very private with a rocky beach front – when the tide is up the balcony is on top of the water and when the tide is out the balcony overlooks the rocks. Nice places to sit on each single balcony with 2 chairs each with a small table, nearby tree with tons of shade and an outdoor table if needed. From the below photo, you can see that the rooms are modest but practical. There was good air-conditioning and normal bathroom with hot water for a shower. The best part was the view of the Pattaya city and Jomtien skylines. For some months now, I can see Koh Larn from where I live in Jomtien and now I can look back to where I live. I have to say that it is very impressive – more so from Koh Larn looking towards Pattaya/Jomtien – especially at night when the entire city is illuminated. Note, there was NO breakfast included in the above mentioned price. View of Pattaya City and Jomtien from our Koh Larn room balcony – quite impressive. We unpacked our bags and then headed out to lunch at one of the many roadside cafes on our way to our first beach destination at Hat Nuan beach – which is on the southern tip of Koh Larn. Beach was pleasant and nice, but was not my favorite because when you walk into the water, it quickly gets deep – as there is a drop-off in the sea floor. I prefer a gradual drop off where you can walk out far into the water before it gets deep. At the far end of this beach – towards the rocks – are a group of monkeys. Many tourists were feeding them. I did not attempt to get too close as I saw many Youtube videos where the monkeys will steal something from you (like your mobile phone) and run away. No thanks. After a couple of hours at Hat Nuan beach, we then drove over to Samae Beach, which is on the western side of the island. The center of the island is dense green with large hills – so the ride from west to east and east to west are breathtaking – as the views from high up are stunning. Note the following - The roads on Koh Larn are narrow and there are NO cars – only the occasional baht busses that shuttle passengers back and forth between the different beaches. Each way on the baht bus is ฿30 baht for each single ride. Consequently, since there are NO cars – it makes driving on Koh Larn very pleasant, as it is just motorbikes going about – and they tended to drive slowly without any chaos. This is truly a nice experience after the crazy chaos of motorbikes in Pattaya city. Also, even though I have my official Thai motorbike driving license – I have not yet started to drive a motorbike in Thailand. I believe that driving one on Koh Larn will help me get over my fear to get started. Consequently, during this trip, I was the 2nd passenger on one of our 2 motorbikes. Going up some of the bigger hills puts a strain on the motorbike – so, if you plan to go 2 persons on a single bike – make sure that you get a motorbike strong enough. For sure, 2 falangs on a single motorbike might not make it up some of the steeper hills. In my case, we were always 1 falang and 1 Thai – and as we know, the Thais don’t weigh much. Next stop, was Samae Beach. This beach I really liked. During this trip, we visited 5 beaches in total and Samae was tied for my favorite with another beach that we visited on day 2. Samae, has the type of white beach sand that I really like with the gradual decline in the seabed, that allows you to walk out quite far before having to start swimming. The water is a beautiful transparent turquoise color. After almost arriving to sunset, we drove back to our room to freshen up for our Main Event – the birthday celebration of my Thai friend at the infamous Klom Klom restaurant / bar. The Klom Klom restaurant / bar is truly an eclectic cool hippy type of place and was an excellent choice to celebrate my friend’s birthday. This was one of my most favorite places in Thailand – something that I would expect to find up in PAI, in northern Thailand. A jazz band was playing during our visit. The food and drinks were very good. The only negative is that the food came from another affiliated place that is across the street – which made the wait for our meal somewhat longer than normal. When I thought that the bill would come, instead the waiters and band played and sang happy birthday for my Thai friend – which was a nice surprise. Even the customers joined into sing. A weird jello birthday dish was served with a lit candle in it (?? Thai tradition ??). To find this place – see below map – as it is about half way between Naban village and Tawaen Beach. Anybody who lives on Koh Larn knows about this place as it is super famous. Back home for some more drinks on our balcony to enjoy the illuminated Pattaya skyline. Day TWO – Tuesday 22 November 2022 We had to switch accommodation locations because one of our 2 bungalow rooms was rented out to another party (surprise snafu). So, we moved north of the main Naban village pier to ธนัชชา รีสอร์ท (Thanatcha Resort). Note from the map below, that this place is VERY close to the main ferry pier and if you remember from the above ferry schedule, the first ferry is at 6:30am bound for Pattaya. It starts blasting its horns for departure at 6:20am. So, I would avoid this place if you do not like to wake up early. Also, it is kind of run down and you can see that it has seen better days. It has a large wooden deck that is tastefully illuminated in the evening with an excellent view of the Pattaya city skyline. Breakfast is included. Price was the same as the previous accommodation, ฿1,500 baht per unit and we took 2 units. This place includes breakfast out on the terrace, which included a Thai kind of rice / chicken soup, toast and marmalades, and eggs sunny side up + coffee. Our next destination was to go see the BIG giant Buddha up on Buddha hill. What is impressive about this place is that you have an incredible view of almost all of Koh Larn – especially looking down onto the tourist packed Tawaen beach. Furthermore, this is where the paragliders take off and land – it was truly breathtaking to watch all of them as there was at least a dozen of them up in the air above us. Have any of you tried this paragliding thing? https://www.flykohlarn.com Driving down into Tawaen Beach, the scene was overwhelming, as the beach was teeming with tourists mainly from India – it was loud and super crowded. I told the guys to continue onwards, and we found a great place to have lunch just before the next beach over, where Tong Lang Beach starts. It was much more quiet and tranquil. I believe that Tawaen Beach is extremely crowded because the main ferry from Pattaya also stops here. Here is a photo of the tranquil and beautiful Tong Lang Beach, where we relaxed for a couple of hours. It was nice and pleasant – but was still not yet my most favorite beach spot. Our next stop was Tiennara (Tien Beach). As I mentioned from day one this was also my most favorite beach. But now after writing this report and reliving the fond memories, this beach is my number one favorite from this Koh Larn trip. Why? It is a very BIG (long) beach with many variations within the beach, such as lush green canopy overgrowth where there were many places to stay shaded, eat, relax, etc. There are even secluded places to lodge and stay overnight here --> I definitely need to return to sleep in one of them. Have any of you slept in any rooms that are directly at Tien Beach? If so, please share with us the relevant contact information. To arrive at this paradise, you first park your motorbikes and then walk on this elevated concrete pathway until you arrive onto Tiennara (Tien Beach). It feels different than the other beaches as you feel more isolated and more immersed into the nature with the white powdery beach sand. Note that walking north (opposite way from which you entered) you will eventually find some red chair lounges. This is where we stayed, and the older owner/manager is most likely gay and one of his sexy younger workers appears to also be gay. He was quite flirty – another reason to return to this beach. On our way into this beach over the elevated concrete walkway, my 2 Thai friends acknowledged a group of fellow gay Thai individuals who were heading back – as they only came for the day. So, perhaps this is the beach more frequented by us gays ? The sun was starting to set and it was time to drive back to our accommodation to freshen up and to head out to our last dinner on Koh Larn. The chosen Thai restaurant is, ยกยอ-เกาะล้าน (Lifted Yo - Koh Larn) https://yokyor-kohlarn.business.site/ which is located on the main road going south from the Naban village that follows the sea shoreline (see below map). It is a somtum type of Thai restaurant and the food was great. It received a 4.3 rating out of 5 maximum in Google. After dinner, we made a quick stop at 7-Eleven (even on Koh Larn they seem to be almost everywhere) to grab some beers to enjoy our last view of our hotel sea deck illuminated Pattaya / Jomtien city skyline. We had breakfast in the following morning at our 2nd day hotel and then off to return our motorbikes and join the crowd looking for speedboats back to Pattaya. Again, ฿150 baht per person one way. In about 22 minutes we were already back at the Bali Hali pier in Pattaya. We called a BOLT taxi to take us back to Jomtien. Would I go back to Koh Larn? MOST definitely – I was truly enchanted with this place and I see that it will take several trips to discover all of the nooks and crannies on this wonderful island – truly an oasis in nature to get away from the craziness of Pattaya city. What would I change? 1.) To have better control over the accommodations that were chosen – there are tons of them and some are truly amazing. 2.) To get over my anxiety to drive a motorbike in Thailand – as Koh Larn is definitely a tranquil place to overcome this fear. In closing, I hope that you enjoyed my long trip report. I hope by sharing all of this information with all of you that it will encourage some of you to take advantage of this unique place in Pattaya.

  28. I’ve been to Thailand about a dozen times and have always felt perfectly safe. There is petty crime like pick pocketing and bag snatching, although I have not experienced it. One thing to avoid is falling “in love.” Many a gay or straight for that matter have fallen for a Thai, then gone home and the emails start. The Thai has a dying mother, sick brother, the rice field back home is flooded etc problems that can only be solved by a generous cash contribution. A friend of mine showed one of these emails from a Thai he had a fling with in Bangkok. It was a pro forma ( that he had obviously used countless times) with banking details. In this case it was the flooded rice field. My friend was sufficiently cynical and worldly wise to laugh it off. I have read countless stories on internet sites of foreigners who have had their hearts broken and their bank balances diminished by boys just after their money.

  29. Not just mobile phone banking, surely. Even if you use your laptop, there's a similar risk of trojans and phishing. So you'd have to avoid all online banking. But then how to pay? Either credit cards or cheques? Credit cards have their own problems (cloned cards and skimming), and increasingly vendors don't want to accept cheques or cash....

    Taipei Info/Tips?

I wonder how many people would be there at soi13 at 1am? Probably not that many. Three weeks is quite an optimal time period to explore Taiwan. I would suggest 7 days in the south, around 7-10 for Taichung and Taipei and then a few days exploring the East coast with mostly guided tour if you don't want to do too much planning by yourself. The HRT makes navigating the island a breeze. It only takes 1.5 hours to go From Kaohsiung to Taipei and it's pretty cheap compared to even Korea and Japan. I am debating with myself if I should go again in May or head to HK, where I haven't been for more than 7 years. I definitely know that I'll be in Taipei for pride week at the end of October. I'm pretty sure Taipei pride will make a big comeback this year. I wouldn't be surprised if the attendance is higher than 2019. It's only February and already some of the most popular hotels in Ximen( like Westgate, CitizenM, etc) are already sold out for those dates. So I don't know when you plan to go but if I was you, I wouldn't want to miss that if you plan to travel to Taiwan. Soi13 during that weekend is close to a heavenly experience. Plus October is usually pleasant weather-wise in much of Taiwan. I would suggest going there possibly together with a local guy. It's a much better experience, especially since it's your first time, though Taiwanese are very friendly people, so there is less of that awkward feeling than other in countries like Japan have you have to go by yourself.

  31. oops, I forgot to add a NEW restaurant that we tried on our first night - which was Racha Buffet, which is next to the One More club on the main road heading south out of the Na Baan port village. https://www.facebook.com/people/บุฟเฟ่ต์ราชาปิ้งย่าง-Racha-Buffet/100066811082230/ This was a NEW concept for me. It is like the MK restaurants Hotpot concept but instead is a BBQ buffet type of restaurant. The front of the place is a HUGE selection of fresh caught seafood and vegetables and eggs, which you select for yourself and place in plastic containers and bring back to your table and you cook them on these very hot BBQ coal fired clay type of ovens. Koh Larn was full of these types of restaurants where the prices were from 280 baht to 299 baht for All-You-Can-Eat!!! Truly a bargain and a fun experience. For our second night restaurant, we returned to the Klom Klom restaurant mentioned at the beginning of this trip report thread. Again, there was a live concert, great food and fancy mixed cocktails. Fun was definitely had by us. https://www.facebook.com/people/กลมกล่อมเกาะล้าน-Klom-Klom-Kohlarn/100064826403085/?mibextid=ZbWKwL

  32. Yesterday 03 Feb 2023, I just returned from my second trip to Koh Larn. I won't repeat any of the above details - as this trip was an 80% repeat of the November 2022 trip. However, I will document below, additional details (as many of you requested) and an additional beach that we went to visit. On the first day, we returned to my still favorite beach, Tien Beach, where I was able to get additional lodging information which I can share with all of you now. There are 4 places for lodging that exist on Tien Beach - of which 1 is closed and out of business - a 2 floor wooden motel like structure. The other 3 are open - of which, 2 are owned by the HardTien restaurant, which are the 2 pirate looking ships that are situated on the northern most part of Tien beach, and the 8 rooms, which are above the HardTien restaurant. And lastly, as reported above at the beginning of this post, there are the 3 lovely bungalows available at: https://www.facebook.com/tiennara.kohlarn/ and for booking: https://reservation.roomscope.com/1694/en --> Note that these 3 bungalows (listed above) are the MOST expensive - at 4,500 baht per night. Below is the business card from the owner of the HardTien. Rooms are 1,800 baht per night - on the steep side - but you are on one of the most beautiful beaches of Koh Larn which is in a secluded and remote part of the island - thus making it extra special and subject to premium pricing. The owner mentioned to us that you can be picked up by one of their private speed boats from the Bali Hai pier in Pattaya and brought directly to Tien Beach (1,800 baht one way). The price is too much in my opinion. Better to take the normal ferry for 30 baht (one way) and then the bahtbus for 30 baht (one way) or via any of the Bali Hai pier normal speedboat s for 150 baht (one way), and then take the bahtbus or rent a motor bike to get to Tien beach. The below HardTien facebook page displays the photos of BOTH the pirate ship rooms (more rugged but more private if you want to have a party and be more intimate) and the rooms that are immediately above the restaurant. These rooms are more "luxurious" - modern than the pirate ship rooms. https://ne-np.facebook.com/people/หาดเทียนเกาะล้าน/100083400457762/?sk=photos I've decided that in the future I will organize an event here with many Thai friends - as I want to spend 2 nights on this fantastic remote beach - to see it in all of its natural glory after the last tourist boats and ferries have all returned back to Pattaya. This Youtuber posted the below video about this place which truly helps to appreciate why I like it so much. Another new discovery that we made at the Tien beach was back in the forest that is behind the beach is a place called, "Goose Beach" and in this large area are the wonderful geese that are let loose onto the main beach once the day trippers have started to return to Pattaya. As we could stay late on the beach, we had the privilege of seeing these geese run around the beach. Our lodging for the 2 nights was in the southern part of Na Baan - the main port village of Koh Larn - at the same place we stayed back in November 2022. Ban Lung Khao - Green Bungalow on the sea rental contact details: https://www.facebook.com/people/บ้านลุงขาว-เกาะล้าน-รีสอร์ท-081-410-5906/100057360703785/?mibextid=ZbWKwL We spent 2 lovely nights here. Bungalow is on concrete stilts above the rocky coast with a direct view onto the Pattaya / Jomtien skyline across the sea. The additional beach that we visited this trip, was the Ta-Yai beach, which is at the extreme northern part of Koh Larn, with a direct view onto Ko Sak island. https://www.facebook.com/tayaibeachclub This beach was very nice but very small and very crowded. In fact, ALL of the beach chairs were already occupied as we arrived around 12 noon. So, I guess you need to arrive early to get good seating. This is mainly a falang beach - as it is serviced by the Ta-Yai Beach club with typical falang/western beach service. Consequently, we did not stay long. We walked to the farthest northern point - beyond the beach chairs - which was very picturesque, where many people were making instagram photos. Unfortunately, one of my 2 Thai friends slipped on the rocks and cut open his foot so we had to wrap it up as best as we could and then head back into the main Na Baan town to go to the main hospital where they treated it - which put a damper onto our 2nd day activities. After the hospital visit, we drove over to the Samae beach and hung out at that beach for the remainder of the afternoon. Ok, this concludes this trip report. Hopefully, it includes the additional information that was asked by many of you that I could only obtain by visiting this wonderful place again.

    Babylon-like Sauna?

Pattaya has a bar scene? I'm getting to the point that "self service" doesn't seem like such a bad option. Besides, it's probably much less expensive to every so often send flowers to my hands . . .

  34. well you did not visit X-Boys as they were definitely naked with their cocks on BIG display. They even did a fuck show where the guy who is being fucked by a stronger guy is brought to your lap - instead of "lap dancing" -->> it is a form of "lap fucking" https://www.facebook.com/xboyspattaya/ https://www.facebook.com/100064714895257/videos/544059427654982

  35. Taking one for the team - I visited the Boyz Music show bar (part time disco) last night - as I had the occassion to visit Boyztown with the partner of @AndyUK, who are here on vacation and we were hanging out in the Jomtien Complex. Here is a picture of their new stage, DJ booth, and upfront seating area. Here is a picture of the bar and the main seating area. Here are 2 pictures of the various drink price lists. Note that drinks for the staff are 350 baht - whereas a beer for you is 200 baht. I had a chance to make a very brief interview with one of the workers there. What time does this place open? 1am What time does this place close? - he would not say it verbally but showed me with his fingers to be 3am. As we know the curfew is 2am. Rumor says that it stays open until 4am. Is there dancing? He replied yes. What kind of music does the DJ play? Techno, house, pop-techno. I said, what about retro music for us falangs? He replied, "can can..." Andy's partner and I, our real mission was to go to X-boys to see their lovely and VERY sexy show. If you want to see big cocks, touch them, fucking, etc. then this is your place. The X-Boys show is MUCH more participatory than the BoyzBoyzBoyz show - which is more industrialized and less hands on. And the BIGGEST plus is the music at X-Boys is loud but tolerable, whereas, the last time I stepped foot in BoyzBoyzBoyz, with visiting member, @spoon was intolerable as they seated us underneath one of their humungous speakers - and I was nauseous, felt pain in my heart as my heart beats were in conflict with the base beats coming from the speaker and I could not hear properly for 3 days afterwards. After our X-Boys fun - we passed by again at the NEW Boyz Music place, and it was about 1:15am and their show was about to show and the go-go guys were up on the stage and 90% were fully clothed and looked like the SAME guys who parade on the BoyzBoyzBoyz stage. We did not stay for the show and we did not stay to see if after the show there was truly the possibility to dance. The music was that techno trash that I do not care much for - as I am more into retro music where there are real people singing and pouring their hearts out - like the great divas - that is mixed well with a nice dance beat. Ok, I took one for the team (this readership) - now it is your turn for one of you night owls who can resist until 4am to tell us what really unveils during the night at the newly reopened Boyz Music show bar / disco - located on the left when entering Boyztown from Second Road.

Not yet to Moonlight. My friend wanted to see the show of Freshboys. Not really my style of boys (too young and to slim) but the show was really good. I may go back for the show as it was really entertaining. Lots of cocks displayed and fun. But you are right, next time in Bangkok will be Moonlight time.

    Jupiter show & Mr Boom

With age dementia must be hitting me because I noticed that from trip to trip I like Jupiter more and more. Visited last night, just before show bar was packed to standing room only. I was barely squeezed in, almost on lap of other patron. From the look at audience I can tell Chinese wave is back. Jupiter is finally joining 21 century, in the show one could observe no less than 8nerect members attached to at least 6 different guys. Five were somewhat discreetly covered in mesh but other 3 ere in plain view. Now if I think again perhaps is not dementia but those dicks, starts with "d" anyways. But old sins still persist, music insanely loud, boys hidden other than their parade, show too long and disinterested look of most of boys parading. Shocking scene, Chinese lady sitting in 2nd row tried frantically tip one guy but he did not notice her hand with if I, m not mistaken 500 baht note. She sat down disgusted and did not try it again. As always I tipped one of guys 100,he grabbed it but during second parade he did not even look at me, I was sitting right by walkway, not that he must have been confused. At end of day when singers took over, finally several bare chested guys stood right by the door. So I opened door, in a second realized how stupid move that is, closed, stepped back and invited some well muscled guy to sit down, gulp a drink at my expense and it took less than minute that our fate was sealed. Off fee and boy drink came to 950, don, t know what was 450 and what 500 (my drink was 500 when I entered) Paid with 1000 and did not receive change, it will be a while before I tip waiter there as I must recoup it. Before I asked guy, Mamasan announced tip for the boy of 3000 and from somebody who offs from there often I knew it,s too much by 500-1000. But I had feeling it may work so gulped that. Off we went to UNESCO designated where my companion ordered most expensive dish on offer, some steak. I was after dinner already so had a tea and some tart, so you understand that 525 invoice was NOT for what I consumed. Then to Rose and things went very well . Word is coming to an end, my 2nd off from Jupiter in few months and guy performed very very to a degree that even with those greedy antics I, m thinking about repeat. Of course at good bye time he asked for taxi money only to be told "you already got plenty for taxi" but to his credit he took it with smile and even Lined me "thank you" from said taxi. For such tip expected but still.. So Jupiter I despised for so long finally hosts in my heart.

While I appreciate the advice, apparently you are assuming I even know what that means, much less how to access it or do anything with it. You are talking way above my scope. Folks, I'm doing the best I can. I have already made it clear - when it come to handling this kind of problem I am clueless. I am going to wait for Moses and that's that. Moses is already well aware of the problem. If he has any advice, he'll let me know and I'll follow it. I truly understand some of you are genuinely trying to help, but I'm getting advice I didn't ask for from people I wouldn't know if they were sitting next to me, and it is advice I have no idea how to follow. No offense intended, but I am going to wait for Moses. If he has any advice for me in the meantime, I'll follow it. If anyone truly wants to help, please send your suggestions to Moses, not to me. If it's something he thinks I should do, then he'll tell me and will tell me how to do it.

  40. Day 3 - My First Repeat. From Icon Siam, we took the taxi back. N told the driver to drop him at some point, before the bridge. Since it's already close to 6pm, I decided not to go anywhere and rest before the night out. I asked A if he wanted to go to onsen today and he replied it is already close to dinner time lol. J told me earlier that another friend of his will join us tonight. I laze around in the room, probably dozing off but fret not, I set my alarm around 8pm so I won't miss the witching hour. Around 8, A asked me if I had plans for dinner. I buzzed J but he didn't reply so I went ahead for dinner with A at G Bangkok. Good food as always. J replied when we were having dinner saying he didn't check his phone and told us that they were at the Circus. So, A and I made our way there once we finished our dinner and saw J and B were still eating their dinner. We sat down and ordered drinks and chatted for a while and discussed the plan for tonight. I told J that I haven't been to Moonlight and Freshboys yet, and B seems eager to watch a good show. My plan was to go to Freshboys first and if I don't find anyone I like, which is most likely the case, I can find solace in Moonlight. But since it's B first time visiting bars, we went to Moonlight first to catch the show. We walked past patpong 1, through some girlie bars, Foodland and the other bars to get to Wall Street soi, where Moonlight bar is. It is almost full but we managed to get seats towards where most boys were seated, on the right side of the stage. I immediately saw K, a hunk from Myanmar that I've taken a few times before. He didn't see me at first but after a while he saw me and smiled at me. Not long after, he came down and greeted me, and A, who met him before. He planted himself behind me but didn't really ask me for an off or a drink. He then left to meet a diff customer. Shows about to start and right before the show started, K came to me again, and this time, I offered him a drink. He knows my weakness for sure lol. One of the reasons I wanted to go to Freshboys first is because I know I would not be able to resist taking him if I saw him again, especially when I haven't met him for 3 years now. The show started with several numbers from a few models, then introduction of the models one by one, the part that Moonlight always recorded and shows on their social media. Not long after I bought K his drink, I told him I will off him LT, and he said ok. He told mamasan and then excused himself to change to his street clothes. I saw him go to another lady customer, most likely informing her that he was already taken. At least that's what I think he did anyway lol. I told him we would like to stay and watch the show and he stayed with me for the remainder of the show. The show continues with more numbers by models. The major difference with pre-covid is Babe is doing a diff dance number now, and there is another model who is also doing a solo number to a Backstreetboys song. And there are no more shows by any of the floor boys. All shows are strictly by their model. I believe tonight, we managed to see the full line up of Moonlight's models as I believe there are 9 models tonight. My favorite number is still the number where all the models will go down on the floor and dance on the walkway. Too bad we didn't sit near the walkway. The usual display of wealth of awarding the models with money garlands by some customers still going on that night. In fact, I believe I saw that each model was given 2k baht notes for doing a nasty shot. I saw many of them suffer after downing the shots, and saw babe trying to escape from drinking another shot after. I managed to tip Nut directly as our seat is quite close to the stage. By the end of the shows, all the available floor boys go back up the stage. Since we plan to go to Freshboys after, I asked K if he wanted to join us or stay in the bar and he said yes. Before leaving, i tipped another floor guy that i like, and who smiled at me when our eyes connected at some point. So all 5 of us went to Freshboys and the big cock shows just started as we entered. Pretty impressive dicks indeed, quite a few of the boys joined in, and the will walk to several spots up and down the stage. The different is, there is no pestering audience by all the guys at the end. If you would like to tip or get a feel, when each model come down, u should gesture them to come to you and they will. Otherwise, they will leave you in peace. Refreshing to see this and especially grateful since most od the boys here is not my type. But if i recall correctly, i still call one guy with impressive dick and tip him for a feel. J said he recognized one guy who used to work at moonlight. Took me a while but i believed i did saw him at moonlight before. But since he isnt my type, i didnt pay much attention. He is fair skin, cute face, fit body, shorter than most guys. Id say look wise, he is the cutest there. I asked K which of these guys are his friends, or someone he know, and he pointed to two guys, one of them is the guy who used to work at moonlight, and another one i didnt recognize before. I tipped him before we left the bar. J took the ex-moonlight guy. A and B didnt take anyone, but B said he definitely prefer freshboys more than moonlight. We part ways, J and me with our boys went to 7 E to get some food then went our separate ways to our hotels. We saw some of moonlight guys also buying food at 7e. One of them is the handsome twink that B really like. Too bad B wasnt with us or he couldve taken this guy back to his hotel hehe. Back at hotel, K as always, delivers great service, maybe even better than i recall, or maybe because we havent met nearly 3 years. In the morning, i asked if he wants to have breakfast together, and he said yes. So we went down to Starbuck at Surawong, my first ever visit there, and only because im with a guy hehe. We had a really nice talk about his experience with covid and discussing about his future plan. I will categorize K as a really bright guy who can hold conversation and really know whats important for him. Too bad he is a straight guy, otherwise im pretty sure he will be a good candidate for a BF. But then, maybe its a good thing he is straight, otherwise some rich gays probably wouldve taken him out of the market already lol. Next - Day 4 - Onsen, Hotmale, Tawan (again!)

Moses is my web site guru. He is my hosting support. He hosts my board on his own server. In order to fix that, or other problems that have occurred, it requires him to have full administrative access to my board - the same access level I have myself. There is no one else I would ever trust with that kind of access and his level of expertise. So, I'm sorry, but I'm going to wait for Moses. Also, 10tazione's advice to remove the link is good advice. TotallyOZ has my full "green light" to edit it out.

  42. Hello from Phuket where we celebrate Chinese New Year... without that many Chinese visitors... but so many Russians everywhere. The gay activity is still to be found only around the Paradise Complex. But I can say it was quite busy for the shows last Thrusday and Saturday. Mix of young and older farangs. Happy to see many old farangs in good shape, smiling, and enjoying their life here... Don't be upset if you go at 9.30pm and find a quiet place. Everybody arrives around 10.15pm for the shows at 10.30pm. Bars are then really packed. After the shows, around 23.00 23.30 many customers move to the Zag dance floor. Many farangs. On Gindr activity intensifies then with many Asian boys offering to meet. They don't come to the bar to find customers but hunt on Gindr. Very easy to find any kind of boys then. The massage places around were very quiet on afternoons and little busy at night. The boys there are apparently struggling to earn enough to survive as they are ready to do everything... I discovered how the 2 year Covid period is still beating them hard : they all borrowed money to banks...and now they must pay the banks back... so when tipping please don't be cheap Charlie if the boy try to do his best...

For those who are familiar with sauna 117 in Rio, they certainly know Kadu who was a very friendly bartender. He passed away a few days ago. I do not know the circumstances but I think it was linked to the fact that he was gay. RIP, Kadu. I will miss you

    RIP Kadu

I do not think that it is not respectful to Kadu to share what I learned since my first post. It will illustrate what TotallyOz mentionned above. Kadu was Brazilian, almost real Carioca and pretty much aware of the risks. After his service in 117 on sunday, he went to an hotel in Lapa where he met a boy - certainly not a boy from 117. He was found the next morning robbed and killed. Police is investigating. Inviting a new boy from 117 to your place or - worse - going to his place is not always safe. From a reliable source I heard the story of a gringo going to a 117 boy's place in Ipanema and being almost thrown through the window in order to get his money and credit card codes ... Finally, I was in Copacabana for year end and I was amazed to see how much police was there. All groups of boys and girls likely coming from favelas were systematically searched by police. It is the same for Carnaval : lot of police. When I was in Rio, there was a crime which was heavily commented, committed on a tour guide who was walking back to his place in Centro. He was killed by 2 girls on a motorbike. The whole scene was filmed by cameras. https://www.google.com/amp/s/g1.globo.com/google/amp/rj/rio-de-janeiro/noticia/2023/01/06/guia-turistico-reage-a-assalto-e-acaba-morto-a-facadas-por-duas-mulheres-no-rio.ghtml

  46. Dr Iain Corness obituary: a Pattaya man of all the talents By Barry Kenyon February 1, 2023 One of Pattaya’s best-known foreign residential achievers has died here after a long battle with cancer. Reviewing the life of such a gifted man with so many success stories and fields of interest is no easy task. Iain’s achievements ran from medicine to motor racing and from photography to philanthropy. He was a restaurateur and a raconteur who opened Australia’s first fast-food Thai eatery and later became Pattaya Mail’s most prolific and original contributor. Twenty years ago, special correspondent Peter Cummins admitted he couldn’t decide whether Iain was an over-achiever or an over-whelmer. We now know it’s both. Born in Northern Ireland in 1941, Iain always stressed he was a Brit of Scottish ancestry. “Just because you are born in a stable doesn’t make you a horse,” he used to say. As a young teen, he was a guest of the Australian government courtesy of the 10-pounds assisted passage scheme for families. The youthful Corness attended Brisbane Boys College and introduced himself to the labour market with jobs as a night watchman and a petrol pump attendant. He took the advice of his nurse mother to study to become a doctor and duly qualified in UK. He paid for his passage back home to Australia by being the ship’s doctor. “I wasn’t too busy, “he recalled, “after one patient with a toothache screamed during the difficult extraction.” A positive avalanche of activities in Brisbane duly followed. Iain opened his own medical clinic and, subsequently, the Thai restaurant in his spare time. Not to mention getting married. He also indulged his life-long obsession with car racing, building his first MGB model under his house. Successful racing soon caught the attention of British Leyland and the by-then modified MGB was recognized as the fastest of its class in the world. In 1990 he formed his own racing team. He also became a commercial photographer and became accredited to the Institute of Australian Professional Photographers. “The camera was expensive, so it had to earn its keep as quickly as possible.” Not everything was plain sailing. In 1992, he miraculously escaped from a blazing inferno on the race track losing only his eyebrows and lashes, carrying scars on his back for the rest of his life. After vacationing in Thailand in 1975, Iain planned to start a fresh life here and finally moved permanently in 1997. Asked why he chose Pattaya to domicile, he explained “it was the only place with an auto race track (Bira Circuit).” He never travelled abroad again and explained in 2022, “You see, I absolutely hate filling in forms and the immigration procedures made it impossible for me to consider going abroad.” Pattaya in 1997 was a very different venue from today. There seemed few opportunities outside of sex and booze. But Iain managed to weave all his qualifications and interests into a truly revolutionary career. Never a retiree waiting for the bars to open, Iain bumped into the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital where he became a non-practicing consultant, work permit and all, where he advised thousands of patients over the years about the real deal and won praise for his empathetic bedside manner. He wrote two books on idiosyncratic Pattaya Expat Life which were a sellout at Bookazine and on Amazon. He was a regular attendee at Pattaya business meetings and social gatherings too numerous to mention. His car racing continued with gigantic enthusiasm until a year before his death. His connection with Pattaya Mail, the resort’s first and now only print newspaper with daily internet updates, went back almost to the foundation in 1993. Iain wrote regularly and voluminously under his own name – Automania and Modern Medicine – as well as under barely-concealed pseudonyms. He was, of course, the gastronome Miss Terry Dinner, the flash-photographer Harry Flashman and the book worm Lang Reid. Not to mention Dear Hillary, the agony aunt coping with naive expats and their heterosexual wanderings. He also produced news items, one-off columns and multitudes of “fillers”, the bits and pieces between the commercial ads. Iain’s journalistic contributions often revealed common-sense advice to the expat community: don’t fall in love with ladies of the night, be careful when ordering Indian curries which are often too spicy and don’t forget an annual medical if you are middle aged or worse. Dr Iain Corness, the Good Doctor as he was affectionately known, is irreplaceable in Pattaya annals. Pattaya Mail offers to his family deepest condolences from both management and the general readership. In one of his last public appearances, at the Pattaya City Expat Club last October, I asked Iain what he would do if offered the keys of the city. “Ask for a duplicate set of course.” Requiescat in Pace Iain Corness: 18 November 1941 – 30 January 2023. https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/dr-iain-corness-obituary-a-pattaya-man-of-all-the-talents-423117
