  1. I, for one, take consolation in fact that Troy is older than me, 555 ( ha, ha, ha). As for communication with boys fortunately rarely we discuss with them merits of Thailand adopting riel as currency or Thai politics during II World War so it's fairly easy. They more or less know what we want and we more or less know whet they expect in exchange. What I found handy to break the ice is to take some interest in them. Even if language barrier prevents us from asking what city they are from or do they have siblings etc I always try to point on something they are wearing ( shoes, watch, t-shirt , tattoo) and thump it up showing I pay attention to them , not only their bulge. It may even pay in some benefit, when I asked boy from now defunct New Twilight what simple tattoo on his chest means ( names of his parents ) he proclaimed " ok, long time ok ' even if declined idea just two sips of cola before.
  2. No dispute that there were more choices in the past. But did most of us really used it? Perhaps expats or people on 3 months vacations. I like it better now because it's now and presents options I can use currently. Boys I was drooling about 10 years ago now are often balding , developing respectable waist size and often trying to forget about their past job. For me no memory substitutes for moment I'm entering bar and spa now, curious as ever what I will find on other side of door . If I dream I rather visualize my first walk next trip through soi 4 toward Jupiter on my way greeted by owner of G'Bangkok or barkers at Banana then recall some exciting first walk through soi Twilight bak in 2015 as much as I miss it. But it's gone . On merit of Sunee it's easy for me as I never really considered the place substitute to my more favorable digs - Boyztown. I liked Good Boys though but still can't say I missed it since it's not there anymore.
  3. tattooed guy\ at the very center needs glasses
  4. if memory serves me well he died on the flight to USA so likely found his final rest somewhere there
  5. even if that is the case , it's not excuse to an any degree for getting physical.
  6. that's steep , we are not talking Jupiter or Moonlight after all . Still not excuse to behave as he did
  7. That's true, with ever bigger and bigger slice going up to people higher in food chain and cuts everywhere in the name of effectiveness, no wonder though that it's happening.
  8. that may be your problem. English is not my first language and I speak with heavy accent , I noticed very often that people in the same situation understand me better than native English speakers. In Thailand is handy to know that 5 is "ha"' so "ha, ha' is not only laugh but also may mean 55.
  9. From what I recall from Januray they did not wear numbers during first walkabout but most of them did during second and last one. Those who did not wear then were already booked or just show boys not available for take out.
  10. never hurts to set internal limit of how much you are prepared to to fork out and stick to it. Protect your account and keep in mind that often best boys are spotted on last day or even worse , last night of the trip. You don't want be money dry when it happens
  11. take comfort knowing you not alone
  12. I'd say no. 2500 for app encounter is on high side that's first. You discussed price with him in advance and accepted HIS price without haggling, that's second reason. Of course if you feel happy beyond expectation there's always room for extra tip.
  13. Great and engaging report. Fact that alcoholic drinks are more expensive in Jupiter is novelty for me (last visit in January,) Don't get discouraged too fast, Even the same boy may perform much better or much worse few days later. Yes , as other advised if you require specifics in performance , better discuss it with boy beforehand . Try avoid mamasans as intermediaries or translators, their job is to make sure boy is offed , not that customer will get what he wants, that's byproduct. Tipping boy during parade is great idea as you can size up his reaction, lucky you to get 'wai' ( hands together salute ) . My 100 baht last time was greeted with blank stare so I got a message and went hunting somewhere else. Hope you will have fun as trip unfolds and don't give up on Jupiter, while attitude seems to be sucky , boys are looking great and with right match for which you need to get more experience , live and learn , you know - meetings with them can be rewarding. This comes from me who is not big fan of Jupiter.
  14. Sure, water was much more wet 20 years ago as well. What was different is that were more bars and more boys in them. Performances varied the same way they do nowadays. It took me 8 trip spread oved 12 years 2001-2013 before I put my step inside Tawan, all because I believed nonsenses circulating on various boards how lazy , greedy , out of shape and indifferent their boys are. 10 minutes after being inside I realized wasted 12 years of fun because all that propaganda. My worst experience oy was also in that supposed golden era, with Dreamboys boy back in 2013 ( not related to 1st visit at Tawan and not even the same trip )
  15. I think part of problem is easiness of communication those days and multichanneling, e-mails, phones, texts , Whatsapps, Lines , you name it that I sometimes have problem with keeping up with private massages from family and friends. People inundated with hundreds messages at work daily may have problems of keeping up and at one point they start not giving a s...t.
  16. marvels of time zones ! You were faster , I wanted to respond the same but mercifully read your post before started mine. Actually if I have a choice at BBB I always take those side seats.
  17. it looks that expats are ever getting resourceful but sadly in the wrong way
  18. it's why those balcony like walkers were invented to keep us seniors in balance
  19. no chicken with cashew nuts though, sigh and sob
  20. no, not double landlocked, borders 4 countries with access to the sea- Slovenia, Croatia , Ukraine and Romania
  21. issue no, but our curiosity needs some satisfaction , otherwise various more or less plausible theories will emerge while real reason may be mundane like business not able to pay it's rent or meet it's payroll . Certainly that short stretch of soi 6 has it's share of mysterious business disappearance recently, Coffee Grinder is still mourned by many including myself which is telling since I'm not even coffee drinker.
  22. some spas (Jey, Googuy, Arena, Sabaidee VClub ) can be our temporary salvation and some bars may turn helping hand to Tawan boys as well. We are waiting for reports of first sightings of them somewhere.
  23. sure , I only look stupid
