  1. Just read today South Korea has had a significant outbreak traced back to their bar and nightclub areas. They are trying to contain it now. China remains a high priority for Thailand because so much of the tourism income is now generated from the Chinese. The hotel operators are strongly lobbying for China to be allowed in as soon as possible. They are saying they will rely on China to screen those travelling. I will guess the Chinese will be arriving in June or July at the latest.
  2. Lets hope the massage shops can reopen soon. It is doubtful the general economy and Thais will be able to accept a shutdown situation much longer. I think everyone will end up just having to decide for themselves where they go and don't go and the risks involved. Some people will just return to status quo pre Covid but some likely will never go to certain places deemed to be high risk or at least for quite a while. I know many Thais out of work now and just want to get back to their jobs or find a new one if they can. I noted most of the new cases of Covid now are located in the southern provinces. So far no new outbreaks beyond that region.Hopefully the numbers will stay low so things can get back to some kind of normal soon.
  3. Having retired now and having a room in Jomptien which I usually visit twice a year I have the option of moving to Pattaya permanently. The question is should I ? Wondering how many others stay alone in Thailand and does it work for you ? Do you get lonely or have you adjusted ? I realize we are all different but would be interested in thoughts of others and particularly if you are already in Thailand. Follow these forums regularly and have gained a lot of help from many here over the past year. Thanks to all who post such great reports and information.
  4. Any tips for Laos? Boy bars ? Massage ?
  5. My experience also. I wonder how many customers they lost because of that
  6. That is a good thing. I first tried to stay there in 2005 and checked out the same night because of the sagging mattresses and dilapidated room. Great location but room standard didn't work for me. I hope they remodel it.
  7. If he is all that to you keep him. You may have found already what many others are looking for. Hope it is a win win for both of you.
  8. That is really true. I don’t know why. The straight farangs seem to hang out together much more. I suppose for me I am always cautious about getting too friendly with anyone to quickly. But talk about bars, boys I am more relaxed with. Just if there are too many questions about personal stuff I can easily overthink it and get uncomfortable. My hang up I guess. It is however really helpful when you meet someone who does understand how things work and can offer you some tips and advice.
