I am a twin and gay, but my twin is straight; and a twin friend is gay but his twin in straight. Likely because we are not identical twins which means we do not share the same DNA unlike identical twins.

Your post has awakened some memories for me, not all of them pleasant. The steps I took to hide my feelings (not my actions, I hasten to add) embarrass me in recollection.
At the same time, I was aware of two associates at work who, I believed at the time, were harbouring similar secrets. They both married and had children.
I thank God for Pattaya every day of my life. To sit in Panorama of an evening a, surrounded by like-minded guys, and watch the go go dancers joking and making eyes at us on their way to work, with an evening of fun ahead...if I could choose  where to spend eternity, it would be there.
Younger posters may find it hard to comprehend just how liberating Pattaya was to my generation, who had spent some of the best years of our lives in the closet.

Yes.  But there are some persons confused about that, such as former U.S. President Bill Clinton. 🙄

To each their own… For me, time is more valuable, so rather than taking extra day off, I fly business/first, shower and relax during layover, and arrive refreshed. If the layover is more than 8 hours, I opt for a day room, or a hotel. If it’s less than 8 hours, I’ll try to fit in a massage or spa treatments. I do not do it at the expense of my accommodations, or activities either. More you spend on travel, better the perks accrued, and at a higher rate. Once I’m retired, or on a fixed budget, I may alter my traveling habits. However, at this point I can only take a very limited time off and it’s worth it for me to spend a little extra to travel in comfort.

I am 6'3; thus I need "leg room."  For the past ten years, all of my international and long distance flights have entailed my having to travel first or business class.  Ah, for the comfort and for my legs.  I've gone through brokers or discounters in obtaining my seats and have save some $$$'s in my doing this.  The amenities and lounges and professional service have also been quite appreciated.
My being comfortable is number 1 when it comes to my long distance travel: domestic as well as international.

No, they neither claim nor are considered Native Americans, or First Nations. As for the term American, even though it’s widely used to refer to US citizens, technically, describes the citizens of both continents of North and South Americas

Nobody will force you to have real sex anywhere but minimum tip is minimum tip.
HJ or BJ is still sex, no?
Some massage places in Saphan Kwai area have lower minimum tips

Anybody who has a friend who is hiv+, and  I have two in Thailand, will warn us not to believe that it has gone, or even more dangerously, that it is no longer a big deal.  A variety of problems may continue throughout life, including weight-loss, residual fatigue, problems with teeth and even sight. The recent Covid pandemic , as may other similar ones that  follow it, has fed on the vulnerability of hiv+ victims. And I am referring to two people who are fully-up-to-date with their medication.
Put simply, it is a lifetime of worry. And so I'd advise insistence on condoms for both partners, including for oral sex, in full knowledge that the chances of infection are small. I've seen what hiv does, not just to the victim but to those who love  him or her.
I also wear a seat belt in my car, though I've been driving accident-free for over fifty years.

I actually feel empathy for the farangs I saw who were very large sitting in economy,I'm 98kg myself so I even found it difficult cramped for the 3 hours so if that farang I saw was I would say 150kg plus just imagine that flight for him.

There is another angle to this, pity the poor normal sized person in economy sitting next to the overweight guy.
I am 78kg and a couple of times had this on long distance flights, it was not a happy experience.

    Good question Olddaddy.
For me, the choice for Pattaya/Jomtien - was that I did not like the alternative choices - which from my Western point of view were:
USA, Italy, and Hungary  - where I saw how the non-elderly gay community treated the elderly gay retirees - as if they should just be invisible and to be ignored.  I did not want to finish the last chapters of my life in this way - especially when the point arrives in our lives when we will need assisted living care - in some assisted care center where the life there is conservative and to be out and gay is frowned upon.  So, it would mean to go back into the closet.  No thanks!!   Of course, if you are extremely wealthy in the West you can negate most of this by hiring gay staff to give you the illusion of not having to be invisible. Thailand - I saw in the vibrant gay ex-pat retiree communities of Bangkok and Pattaya that it is not necessary to be invisible and ignored.  Why?  because us elderly retirees are numerous - and we have created our own infrastructure and support systems - where being old, gay, and elderly - with all of our special needs does not need to be looked down upon.  In fact, it can be a very positive experience. Here is a proof-in-point story.   During my last trip to Thailand, in 2020 - I saw a VERY elderly feeble Western gentleman, who could barely walk, be assisted by two kind Thai guys to help him walk from his apartment in Jomtien to his favorite table at his favorite Jomtien Supertown bar.  It made me cry - in happiness - that this gentleman would be taken care of by the kind likes of our Thai guys.  In this way, I do not need to DREAD what it would be like to be so old in Thailand - to still have dignity and respect to enjoy our lives right up until the end.  For me, Thailand is the pot of gold at the end of our gay rainbow.
Lastly, why Pattaya and not Bangkok?  My dream has always been to retire at the seaside.  Although Pattaya City is situated on the seaside - it is too urban and congested for my tastes.  I truly enjoy the Dongtan seaside area - especially the seawalk from Thappraya road all the way north to Phra Tam Nak 5 - that piece of seafront is truly lovely and peaceful for me.  I do love the energy of Bangkok - but thinking long-term, I find that Bangkok can be stressful from a moving around point of view - as I like to walk a lot.  So, I will probably head over to Bangkok every 4 to 6 weeks for 3 to 4 days to get my high energy fix.
So Olddaddy - let me ask you a question.  Where on our Planet Earth - do you believe are the best places to retire for us elderly gay guys with our particular needs and care issues ?

I do have a boyfriend(s) and do go to the gym but have no interests or hobbies. I like to socialize with some friends and do enjoy the bar scene, but only at night. I have been coming here for 20 years and now made Pattaya my home. Just another old farang who enjoys sex whenever I can.

Stay in and have a quiet night!! Seriously. If I have been there a few months I have usually had enough by the time I go home. It’s a long journey to the UK and I don’t need to start it knackered!
I used to visit BKK on my way home from Pattaya but have decided it’s too much hassle moving hotels etc en route home. Pattaya is only a little over an hour in a taxi to the airport.
If I want to go to Bangkok I now usually do it on the way to Pattaya, or as a side visit whilst in Pattaya.
