I never knew the appropriate amount to tip for foot massages. I always thought 100 baht would suffice but T, my Myanmar friend, told me to tip 200 baht regardless it is 300 or 400 baht foot massage. Ever since he said that, I have always tipped 200 baht.

I believe most of us have a pretty good handle on what a fair tip is regardless of they type of massage they receive. And I don’t think most of us don’t travel many thousands of miles for a foot massage.

I did frequently tip a boy at Family Mart with loose change after a purchase and one day I said "see you later" and his reply was "when".

Just a few days ago I did view the video, The Rescue, which Reader posted about in Oct 2021. It was an excellent presentation of events that transpired during the rescue operation.  It seems that the diving team  had almost zero hope that any of the boys would survive their ordeal, but they did!

I’d be interested how the guy providing a very personal, hands on service might judge it.

Many—if not most—shops do not remit any of the fee to the guys.

I agree with colmx, the minimum tip should be, at least, the cost charged by the shop. Naturally if a lousy massage a tip can be reduced.  The masseur/masseuse live on their tips, not on the fee charged by the shop.

In a traditional massage or foot massage shop I have always worked off the premise that the tip is commensurate with the shop fee
So 200b oil/foot/traditional massage should result in a 200b tip. Same for 300 etc.

As for bad service, BF says pay in coins, that's what's given to beggars and can cause a face loss for them.... That's of course if you are prepared to face the consequences of said face loss!

Soda Massage always been good to me; variously had HJ/BJ finishes and 'full service' finishes. Mostly gay boys there.
Same Foxy massage around the corner, had several 'full service' massages there which were excellent. Even had one of the Foxy lads back to my room in April for a more relaxed 'full service' massage. Gay and straight boys there.
Both places know exactly why you have chosen them to visit for your massage 😂
Always had the full hour in both places and usually a well managed hour to ensure you get both a decent massage, and also ensuring that when you 'turn over' you are visibly good and ready for the extras to follow! 😅

I stayed at Mosaik about 3 months ago; very inexpensive.  Believe I paid 8000 Baht/month which included electric and WiFi.

Inspection is a casual way to give tips to the boys, which they may not get just standing on stage.

Nice Boys has its own Web Page and Facebook page,
Opening 8pm - or thereabouts, and officially open until 12 I think .....
Sometimes only a handful of boys on stage, sometimes a dozen or more - they are freelancers and it depends on the time and on the day as to who you find inside. Less boys now that were commonplace pre-Covid.
No underage!, most in their 20s, occasionally one or two 30 or more. These are all straight boys, often with day jobs, wives and GFs; all 'gay for pay'.
Drinks, yours and the boys 200 baht each.
The boys are not shy, well most of them - it takes new arrivals a week or two to loose their shyness. Pre-covid they wore just their pants on stage which would drop to their knees at the slightest encouragement. Now they wear jeans, but their belts usually hang loose.
If you call them off the stage they would expect you to buy them a drink and they will mostly drop their pants and produce their cock for you to look at and play with. No fixed tip pricing, but a handling of their cock I give 100 baht, if I play with it for a period or suck it (yep that's ok), then maybe 200,  but if they chuck-wow for you and cum then 300 baht is the expected tip.
Lots of wriggle room as to individual requests. Last time I was in there were a couple of ladyboy customers with a bottle of whisky and one of the cuter boys completely naked parading around the bar, from their seats to the stage etc. Never did work out for sure what they paid him for that, but I think 500 baht?
Off fees are three or four hundred baht, I can't recall specifically. Boy's fees in your room negotiable, I usually pay 2,000 baht for a visit be it ST or LT and never had any of them ask for more, although maybe an extra 100 baht for a taxi bike.
Your trouble will be finding the bar; its on Soi VC backing onto Sunee rather than in the plaza itself; but trust me, it is worth the search. I have had many great nights both alone and with accompanying friends in Nice Boys!

In my early Thailand days, I encountered a guy with a mook in Adam's Apple, Chiang Mai.  Innocent and ignorant, I thought he had some horrible VD I'd never heard of. Spoilt the occasion for me, naturally. I spent the next few days checking to see if I'd caught it off him!
Only once did I off a guy with a  silicon-enhanced penis (if "enhanced" is the right word). By then , I'd learnt enough not to fear a VD.....but it was still a distressing  experience, particularly because in other other respects he was both cute and willing.
I wouldn't wish to raise a controversial subject, but I feel the same about other forms of self-mutilation.....such as tattoos! Thais have such beautiful skin, i regard any such alterations to their bodies to be verging on the sacrilegious.

True and not true!  If the silicone is injected into the outer skin of the penis, then that skin can be removed but that can be tricky. If the silicone is injected into the body of the penis then you have it for life!  But, as you say,  an ugly looking cock!

The height of the balcony railing plays a significant role in accidental falls. I've noticed that many older buildings, and even some newer ones, have balconies that don't meet recommended building code of 42 inches (107 cm).

This photo illustrates a man leaning against a railing that appears to be constructed at the minimum recommended height. His center of gravity is well below the railing, minimizing accidental falls.
