I read way too much Narnia when I was lutheran and small. In Junior High my tastes improved.

Nothing about the style of his short story (I haven't read The Englishman) turned me off, it just wasn't a particularly captivating style like say Colm Toibin or Dennis Cooper. You may not have noticed, but the picture that the link to the music video you posted in "this" thread had a photo of a kid, so we had to delete it.
