Santa Marta is indeed a great place. Don't forget to visit Tayrona national park and Minca. Tayrona takes at least 2 days, but Minca can be done with a motor guy in 1 day. In Minca you can go there with a car or taxi, but travel around Minca is with motor. Roads are bad, and it is very mountanius place. Forget about Baranquilla, it is not turist place, but all the boys come from there. Cartagena is a nice place. the best beaches are out of town. usually on a small island. a lot of history, excellent food and music places. Boys are more expensive in Cartagena because there is a lot of tourists.

i am exactly the opposite. i think that Brasil is better. or let's say, you can compare boys in both countries. same quality and easy aproach. however, from tourist point brazil is much reacher. i love their beaches. salvador, manaus or iguacu falls are better then cartagena, bogota, santa marta, medellin and tayrona park. i have not been to cali. it is on my to do list.

i was staying in Rio de Janeiro in many airbnb appartments over several years. i never had problems with bringing guests in. if they were coming with me they were not checking their ID. if they came alone and i was waiting in the appartment the doorman checked their ID and called if it is ok to let them in. never a problem.

what are the prices in puerto vallarta comparing to rio?

complicated. you can not be close to everything. you can be outside on hotel beaches, mostly north of the city. or you can be in the barra, which is pointed as gay beach, but is more like a normal beach, but nice anyway. or you can be in old town for historic buildings, capoeira boys and ladies in national costumes, and some music nights in old town (once or even three times a week). salvador comes in clusters. safe and not safe areas. in between areas you travel with taxi or uber. i would not stay in old town, i would visit it a few times during my stay. i usually stayed in barra, i liked it, but is more a question of taste.

As I may have mentioned, I have visited rio and recife in january. A little bit more than a week in rio and week in recife. All stores and restaurants were opened. The beach has usual crowds. Maybe there were less vendors on the beach during the week. I did not visit saunas, because a new wave of omicron just started to grow in brazil. I was said when I saw that my my favorite bar Tonemai on Rua de amoedo in Ipanema is closed. Now they are refurbishing the place and the domino pizza will move in short time. This was my first trip after January 2020. Maybe the prices of food did increase, however the exchange rate is taking care of the increase. What is more sad, is that I feel that quality of food is getting worse. As I said, I did not visit the saunas, because of covid fear. However, grindr is rich with boys who are willing to do anything. Some will start their offers with 500, some with 300 reais, but they will all settle for 200 reais. It was particularly interesting in Recife. I did not know, how the hotel will treat visitors. I have read on tripadvisor that hotel’s policy is liberal. And really, whenever, I came in the lobby with guest the security was looking literally away. No problems. Recife is not much up to, but village near by Olinda is beautiful old village. I would also recommend uber trip to beach in porto galinhas. Really nice, but avoid weekend.

i have been in rio for the last 10 days. i have returned on sunday. i have not been here and i have a feeling that the famous gay road is detiriorating. first, the hotel ipanema plaza is closed. renovation???? does not say anything. second, subsequently asian restaurant on the corner that belongs to hotel is also closed. logical. third, cafizinha the lovely coffee shop has moved somewhere in copacabana. no more italian capuccino here. another restaurant has been across the street from cafizinha. closed. tonemai, that has been packed during weekend is almost empty. even on weekends only 2 or 3 guests watching the men walking around. ipanema gay beach is still the same. crowded with a lot of cuties.... pointe and 117 are going well, but personally i prefer grindr. grindr is crowded. younger guys mostly for sale. they all go for 200 reais, but ususlly they are willing to go down to 150-170 reais. but what is going on with the area?

i would say bogota is more like 4 day destination. i would add mercado de paloquemao on your list. they sell various mostly tropical fruits and vegetables. it is a good idea to take your last night friend with you and taste different fruits. mercado de usaguen is nice on sundays. arrive after 11.00 in the morning and stroll around. out of town trip to zipagueira is nice. underground cave and church. nice. organized trips are over 50 bucks. if you take a local friend you can get there by bus for very little money. if you hire a boy it makes sense that he helps you find attractions during the day, and is hot during the night. 24 hour company will be easy to find for 300.000 pesos. someone might start at 200 $, but when you say i give 300.00 they will accept. boys are facing hard competition. for the rest of trip, i would suggets cartagena or santa marta. medelin has interesting boys, but touristic is not interesting. if you are not admirer of pablo escobar, however. have a nice trip, and write. i am following in january....

rtu, thank you for your interesting report.... but i do not agree with you that you do not have anything to see in brazil... have you been to jesus christ or pao de acucar and admire how did africa and america separeted a few million years ago. a visit to few samba places in lapa or samba school are great. acquarium is large, new and superb, as well as museum of tommorow. have you been to ilha grande, which is close to rio? it takes 3 days it is national park and it is more than great. not to mention smell of slaves in salvador or nature of amazonia? and yes boys on beach are for fun, but the appreciate an option to make a few extra reais. enviroment is very friendly. adn shopping centers are everywhere. also in brazil.

personally i look for quality, not that much on price. at the same time i do not want to be cheated. however if there is a quality guy, i do not mind paying a few reais more and give him a nice meal.

internet price of 200-250 reais for cute guys is quite ok, because you will have at least 120 reais of additional cost if you go to sauna. transfer with metro 20???, entrance to sauna 60 + room 40

i always travel in january. reason is to cut european winter in half. and i do not want crowds for new year or carneval. the plus is.... a lot of visitors from other parts of brazil, like belo horizonte, and local tourists mostly like to earn additional reais.... no problem. not owercrowded for my taste. with exeption of sunday beach in ipanema. this is crazy.
