Tomcal, thanks for your answer and all of your posts, I'm new to the forum but all of your past posts have been really helpful! First time in Rio so I hope to not make so many newbie mistakes.

I'm planning to go to Rio in August and wondering since it's considered "winter" over there and not as many tourists go there since it's not the summer or Carnival - does Club 117 and the like still have a good turnout during the offseason for tourists? I know it won't be as busy but I'm still hoping to have a good time. Thanks in advance for the input!
