  1. Maybe not a boy anymore but definitively a handsome man
  2. I like Thai food, but sometimes I get homesick and Dolce Vita is a good cure. If you are also into Italian food I highly recommend "Marcos", 5-10 minutes walk from the Jomtien complex https://www.marcospattaya.com/
  3. Thanks for the great report about Phuket @vinapu ! So, whats your take about Phuket? Is it worth a visit? I was on Phuket 3x and the last time (10 years ago) the gay scene was small and a bit depressing. I could imagine to visit it again (maybe as a stopover on the route to Kao Lak). I also don't like the animal zoo's. I also don't like human zoo's as in the north of TH close to the border to Birma/Myanmar (Meo tribes). Humiliating and embarrassing... but that's just my humble opinion. Did it once and never again.
  4. Can you share the name of the restaurant? Chicken/cashews is one of my favorite Thai dishes
  5. Some of them are quite pushy and aggressive (Foxy Smile for example). Soda on the other hand are friendly. Sitting in O Delices you can watch them coming and going 😉
  6. https://www.gaysupertown.com/ And on Twitter (X): twitter.com/GaySupertown
  7. Lately I was very surprised when I had a meeting with my students. Normally they bring their computers/tablets/handy in those meetings and are doing something online during the meetings. This time I was the only one with a computer, all of them were writing their notes on paper and were quite were present and focused. So, there is hope...
  8. quite possible that I am wrong because there are no windows and I mixed it up. Cellars are rare in BKK because the groundwater is close to the surfaced
  9. Well mixed. from 18 (estimate) to 50. The average I would say is around 30-35. When I arrived, the average probably went up another 5 years 😉
  10. Ok, I am already back from 39 Underground (no need to stay any longer 😉 ) It's just a 2 minutes walk from the Saphan Khwai BTS Station at the dead end of a small soi. Entrance fee was 250 (weekend price). At 2 pm it was already crowded. About 100 Asians and 2 Farangs 😉 The sauna spreads about 4 floors, 3 of them underground, hence the name. There is also a little bar and a roof "garden". In the very dark underground there was action on every square inch. As expected, most of the guys were more into Asians, but I had my fun too... plenty of it. It's not the cleanest place on earth, but I found it acceptable. All action was raw, never saw a condom in usage. I hope they use at least PREP since it's much cheaper here in TH. Today was naked theme, that`s why you only got a small towel and you were not allowed to carry the towel in the action areas. So for me, the visit was worthwhile, even though I was more or less the only Western guy there.
  11. I will try 39 today. I hope it's not too crowded today because of Chinese new year. An old sauna saying goes: the more people, the less action. There used to be a sauna in BKK that was notorious for ripping off and discriminating older farangs. Which one was that? Have I already said how much I miss the old Babylon?
  12. Chivapuri Beach Resort is quite a remote place. It's a very nice resort, clean, nice beach and a fast stable internet (important to me as a digital nomad). Not the cheapest one though. The hotel's restaurant is good and there are some small restaurants in the neighborhood , but that's it. So, if you enjoy a diverse selection of restaurants and bars then I fear this is not the right place for you. But you can compensate for this to a certain extent by having your own car.
  13. Thanks a lot for the report. I stayed on Koh Chang last week (in the very south, Chivapuri Beach Resort) and liked it very much. having your own car is great. The ferry for the car is only 120.
  14. Good old days. I really miss the Babylon (the old one at the beginning of the road, now an apartment house and of course the new Babylon). The Pinnacle had a quite high gay factor during those days. From time to time I still book Pinnacle the have a confirmed homebase from where I do some trips around BKK and Hua Hin because it's so cheap. Pinnacle is a bit ran down nowadays, but still ok for that purpose. I had never the impression of a hippy ghetto though.
  15. Switzerland is one of the most expensive countries on this planet. But a short time is normally in the range of 150-300 Swiss franks (160-320 Euro or 170-340$). If I hear prices like 8k in TH then all I can do is shake my head. Don't take that as offensive, everybody can do with his money what he likes to do. But this boy earns so much money in one night that his farming family in Isan has to work for a whole month. His attractiveness will fade at some point and then he will find it difficult to lead a normal life. As I said, please don't take this as a reproach, just random thinking 😉
