  1. Hi,

I am coming to Rio for the first time in June 2023.

There is a lot of good information here, but maybe not so recent, so I decided to write for help ;).

First, of course, is the hotel recommendation. I would appreciate any suggestions for good gay/gay friendly hotels.

Second is the gay guide. Where can I find a nice gay guide that could show me the city during the day and maybe show me some night life as well.

Maybe also 2 practical questions: how can I get the local sim card (airport?) and where can I safely exchange some money (cash in USD).

Last, but not least, I am interested in young twinks. Any advices where is the best place to find them (escorts welcome ;) ).

Thanks all in advaance for any help and comments.

    Mat

My preferred option, email a day or two ahead of time with pickup and dropoff. You could probably call or line and ask for anyone available at the time, but i've always pre-booked my trips.

The driver has always been on time, in a decent car and they don't drive like maniacs.

I just got information from them yesterday, that they are very busy with not enough drivers, so going BKK airport - Pattaya - BKK airport only, at the moment :(

Some staff needs some training, when asked  if I buy 2nd drink for boy sitting with me answer "no, one is enough" was taken as "yes, one more"

Show without nudity, although some erections were visible through white Aussie Bums and  without lip synching either.

Drink and boy drink 350, off fee 500, tip quoted by Mamasan 2000 and up, quoted by aspiring model 3000 st 5000 lt.

Boys mostly not a bad looking but to model hood there,s mile or two. No Nut or Babe there yet but bar, boys, staff they all look promising and definitely worth checking.

3000 st and 5000 lt seems a bit pricey :(, especially for just inspiring models ;)

Apps will be working, some bars may be opened, just will not serve any alcohol. In such a case we can go and on Saturday evening instead of gin we can  drink water, just as animals

I think, I will have to try that ;)

@vinapu - Are you in Pattaya on Saturday as well?

Not that Complex is quiet, quite opposite. And you you take guy from one if bars you also parading him and yourself in front of 10 or so  bars. In short Pattaya is not for shy types although on bright side nobody minds your business. If guy walks with girl everybody knows what will happen. If two guys are walking there level of mystery i.e who is the top but really nobody cares.

I am so glad I will be there already on Saturday evening :D

I was on Soi 6 on Thursday night. But I never could locate this bar...haha I walked from Mango tree restaurant, past prime untill the mstar massage place which is the end of the Soi to the other side. Best part was I couldn't find anything and trudged the way I came back to Soi 2 into dreamboys...lols

I think you have to turn right where the entrance to Mango is located, not following the road to Prime.

Somebody can confirm that for sure ;).

A lot depends on where you want to stay, what your budget is and what your priorities are for the room.    Even which side of a hotel you stay on can make a difference, with sometimes a trade of for road noise v a view etc.

    Example hotels:

Near Jomtien Bars -Zing -reasonable price.    The Agate higher price.

South Pattaya:   Mosaik   -good value & convenient location for a few decent coffee shops;     Is well located for Sunee Plaza & Boyztown, but at the moment Jomtien is where the best bar scene is to be found.

Near Boyztown: Classrooms.   Warning, this is above The Classrooms (girlie) bar and A Bomb gay bar, but I've always found the higher floors to be quiet and comfortable.

I wouldn't do anything daft like staying in North Pattaya.

What about Baan Souy Resort? I have heard it is pretty nice place. Is it worth staying there?

I arrived at a busy time at the end of March. Although the mass of desks and logos was initially confusing, all I had to do is to state by hotel name to the nearest desk staff, and I was pointed to the right desk. All in all a 5 minute process from exiting customs to being in a car.

2500B extra got me a test result in under 2 hours.

The only clunky element to the Thai Pass process was the website which would not allow .pdf file unloads.

If you want to see chaos, visit a UK airport immigration hall.

Where did you stay that you got your test results so fast (under 2 hours)?

    Thanks for a hint ;).
