  1. I was in Toy Boy Boyztown tonight. There were 2 Indians guys who came in together and they ordered one single beer to share between them.

After they left, another pair of young Indians in their 20s came in. The way the female clung to her companion, it looked like they are a couple. And the guy carried with him a half-finished beer bottle.

They sat down, gawking at boys in underwear on stage for a few minutes while the guy continued to finish his own beer, ignoring the waiter literally shoving the bar’s menu to his face. Then they stood up and left. The remaining customers looked at each other like what the hell just happened.

Maybe the business was so slow the bar tolerated such behaviors. It’s sad.

It's also possible that customer doesn't know Korn well enough. Korn is a recent addition to the Moonlight model line up.

At any rate, I felt bad for Korn too, but not bad enough to cough up 1000B just to help him save some face.

    ....

Slightly weirdly he was happy to suck said cock without a condom, but wanted a condom on his own if I was to suck that! Perhaps the performers are so used to a latex barrier between themselves and customers that is their best way to get it up.

Actually, the main purpose of wearing a condom during a show is the particular knot they made at the base of their penis to wrap the condom tightly around it so that it could stay hard for long. Certain straight boys may also use the same trick to keep it up during his sessions with a customer.

Just out of idle curiosity, what would you offer Justin Bieber then?

First time, I thought it was a comedy skit, something you'd see on old time TV.

Speaking of comedy, did you see that ridiculous big cock show in the New Dream Boy, where all the guys drag (wigs, skirts and all), stumbling around on high heels with their cock picking out under the skirt?

I think it should be a Japanese customer :)

I estimate the number of guys on stage at one time or another at Freshboys Saturday night at about 18 (give or take a few). I understand a few had been offed prior to show.

I guessed Saturday would always be busier. My last three visits in August and October (all week-day), there were never more than 12, and the bouncer also admitted they lost quite a few boys to competitors.

Is 'Super Boy" the same as Super A, first upstairs via  rusty, rickety  cast iron stairs and bridge, then to move down stairs with a permanent water leak and bucket just inside the door?

I'm not sure about the details but there is a big yellow "A" in the sign post and I talked to the same mamasan (or owner?), who been there before Covid.

  7. 2 hours ago, Gaybutton said:

That's because those boys would give kickbacks to the mama-san.  I don't know how much of a kickback they gave or if any of that still goes on today

It's usually 100B for both Bangkok and Pattaya bars, as I was told by various boys from different bars. I even saw a boy from Luck Boys gave mamasan 100B right before he left the bar with me and of course before he received any money from me. I was also told that some boys tried to one-up others by giving mamasan more (like 200B) so the latter would play favorite and push him harder to potential customers.

I can't conclude he said "required" from this screen shot. Sounds like a recommendation from the bar friends or mamasan, and there is nothing wrong with that.

"required" is actually the wording used by another boy (again through translation)

  9. 9 minutes ago, Gaybutton said:

The bar requires?  For me, that's a new one.  I've never heard of a bar "requiring" anything except its off fee.  In this context who, exactly, is "the bar" and why would the bar give a damn how much the boy gets from an off?

If it's not already obvious, I'll try to explain:  "The bar" is either the mama-san or whoever is in charge of the boys.  "The bar requires" is because whoever is requiring it demands kickbacks - and that is likely whoever is in charge of paying the boys at the end of the month or has some other kind of hold over the boys.  If the boy is really lucky, he might get to keep half for himself.

Yet another reason why I won't take boys off from those kinds of places.

It's hard to say as I usually got this through (google) translation and I also never heard of it before Covid. It seems Pikky and Divarium's owners attempt to enforce a minimum tip level (1500) to make sure their boys are not underpaid. In other words, their boys should not go with customers that offer less than 1500B for short time.

  10. @fitboynyc

In Silom area, there is Sam Yan Gym in CP Tower that charges 500B for a daily pass. Cheaper you may try Urban Fit Silom by UHG, 350B per day. It's actually a gym inside the Quarter Silom hotel, to which hotel guests have free access. I did use that gym when I stayed in Quarter. It's a bit small but have enough equipment.

There is also Jetts 24 Hour Fitness near Chong Nonsi BTS, which charges the same as Sam Yan (500B/day). If you stay long (more than a week), purchasing a monthly membership should be much cheaper. Since Jetts 24h also have centers around Bangkok and Pattaya, you can have access to all of them with a single membership.

I'm not sure if those gyms are qualified as "body-building" gyms though.

If I was a mb, I would try to unionize and request payment first like in most other countries. That would give more power to the mb.

We’re very lucky that’s not the case yet. But you never know.

Well, on this trip, three different boys from Pikky and Divarium, when asked how much they expect for a short time, told me 1500B then explained: the bar requires them to ask for at least 1500.

  12. Thanks everyone for chipping in. As a follow-up, I was in M2M last night for one more show before I leave Pattaya. To be safe, I asked a Thai boy to go with me 😅

I can confirm that the Hornet guy is indeed working there. This time, I saw him immediately upon entering the bar. He also saw me, then just looked away and I got served by another waiter. So that was that. I was so relieved :)

Usually I went to M2M just to watch the show and ogle at some cute dancers there. Also the guy in question is quite decent-looking but he wasn't my type. Although he might have gotten my drink orders many times before, we never so much as had eye contact (that why he said "you never look me" in his message). The fact that I had to go back to the bar to be sure it was him just shows how much I actually knew the guy :)

At any rate, I have been going to Pattaya for years and became a regular customer of a few boys (never sent anyone any money when I was not in Thailand though as my motto has always been "you have to work for it"). But this is the first time I had problems with someone I didn't even know. I have no intention of getting to know him better or trying to solve our miscommunication. I just wanted to know if I did anything wrong in order to be able to avoid the same mistake in the future.

Thanks @Gaybutton and @gayinpattaya for your shared stories. And I think @PeterRS made a very good point: "
unless you know a guy at least a little, joking with Thai boys often backfire" As someone who tend to make unwarranted jokes, I need to keep that in mind.

Thank you for a great update. Re the age of consent in Vietnam, does anyone know why Google confusingly says it is 16 and 18? I have had a few fabulous meets in Vietnam and want to stay the right side of the law on my next trip.

@zoomomancs The age of consent is 16, but to provide certain "professional" services, the service provider must be 18 years old or over. That's what makes it confusing.

So if you have a boyfriend, who is 17 and is willing to sleep with you with no money (iPhone should be ok, I think) changed hands, that's no problem.

Like in Thailand, prostitution is "illegal" in Vietnam, so if you are caught red-handed as a paying customer, that's considered a misdemeanor, and you will be fined (not jailed). But if you are caught red-handed paying for someone who's between 16 and 18 years old, it's considered a more serious offense and you face more serious consequences. Of course, if that person is not yet 16 years old, it's statutory rape.

So in principle, you should always stick with boys 18 years old or older and always check their IDs as younger boys frequently lie about their age just to get customers. Since boys in Vietnam often look much younger than their age, you can never be sure (when I was doing my first Master's degree, a lot of people thought I was still in high school and I was always asked for ID entering gay clubs).

There was this money boy in Hanoi, who was only 14 years old at the time but told his customers he's 17. A young guy from the Czech Republic (24 or 25 I think), who had been doing his family business in Vietnam for several years so he spoke decent Vietnamese, was very familiar with the local gay scene and knew a lot of money boys, became the boy in question's regular customer or probably the "so-called" boyfriend (the boy even put a picture of their having dinner together on his FB). Later business wasn't so good so the guy frequently stiffed the boy on his fee. The boy then got his revenge by working with the police to set a trap. The Czech guy received a 10 year sentence and I think he's still in jail as we speak.

He didn't give me that chance though. When I woke up this morning, Hornet noti shows he sent a bunch of additional messages around 3 am but when I logged on to check, his nick was gone. He blocks me and I am still not sure why he was so upset.

I think he may have been offended when you asked to go with him for free and he agreed then you declined by saying it was a joke.

nuances in English can be easily misinterpreted so 'just joking' could come across as laughing at him or something out of context like that?

I  have had some conversations do complete 180s with some Thai boys because my Australianism expressions don't translate.

That makes sense to me. Maybe he was serious about "going with me for free" and then thought I just treated his intention "as a joke" and him "as toy boy".

The guilt-trip techniques @Olddaddy and @colmx mentioned also seem plausible, but for those to work, I should have gone out with him (paid or not) at least once before the drama right? We hadn't even talked (in real life or on Hornet before), and as he said, I didn't even look at him when I was in the bar.

  17. 1 hour ago, reader said:

Maybe he misunderstood or misinterpreted "just joking" comment. But look on the bright side: you're loved by someone you obviously made a wonderful initial impression on. That can't be a bad thing. 🙂

I thought those were just the usual pick-up lines bar boys used to get customers. It wasn't until he sounded offended that I realized he probably meant it.

  18. I got a so-called love confession from a bar boy on Hornet. Have some vague ideas who he is from his online pictures. A waiter/host in M2M bar in Jomtien Complex where I frequented many times to watch their show over the last few months. I saw him in the bar but we never actually talked.

I don't even know how to respond further but saying sorry. Still don't understand why he was offended? Did I say something culturally inappropriate? Now I don't even dare to walk past the bar :(

    $43/night - Baywalk Residence (1500 miles)

    $44/night - Aya Boutique Hotel (2000 miles)

    $83/night - Avani Pattaya Resort (2500 miles)

Anyone have any insight on any of these three hotels?  I have stayed at the Baywalk and Aya before, but this was 2015-2016 time, so things may have changed since then. I am curious about the Avani Resort, pricier and arguably the least miles for the buck, but I wouldn't mind a little bit of luxury if its worth it. Obviously the joiner situation needs to be liberal.

    Thanks!

@numazu I just stayed three nights in Baywalk last week and seven nights in Avani last month. Both are pretty good, IMHO.

I prefer Baywalk as it checks almost all my boxes (closer to Boyztown and the beach with a sea view restaurant, gym, swimming pool, buffet with unlimited servings of fresh vegetables, spacious rooms, reasonably priced).

Avani is not that luxurious inside the room (certainly not at a four-star level), but it offers a pretty good buffet, a large outdoor swimming pool and a huge Asian-style garden with ponds that you can walk around (Families with kids would love it). Avani also has sea-view rooms (should go with rooms on the left wing as they offer better view) but it cost more (it cost me more than $100 per day for the cheapest sea-view room category)

No problems with guests to the room. Avani sometimes checks for Id, Baywalk wouldn't bother.
