As a follow-up, even though I thought about giving the boy the benefit of the doubt and that he asked for payment in advance just for fear of being cheated, I heeded your advice and moved on to the next boy, who is 19 years old, from Isan, in Bangkok to study (he told me). We were also pleased with S as he clearly was interested in sights , tried to explain to us some motives and rituals. That was pleasant contrast with last time I was there with a guy who couldn’t wait until we go back.
 Wat Po with Reclining Buddha is walking distance   but ever stylish we took tuk-tuk to take us there, 50 baht for good start of the day for driver.  The same situation , few visitors,  while in normal times seeing Reclining Buddha is testing patience, fact well testified by signs on the floor ‘wait here” and so on. Us three and perhaps two Japanese girls was all crowd in the grand hall with statue.
Instead taxi or MRT ( Sanam Luang station nearby is very impressive ) we decided to go by the river to walked to a Wat Arun ferry nearby. They made us waiting 15 minutes so we had some beer and S called him Mom in Cambodia proudly showing her farangs he was guide of , at least this is  how he presented us I presume. Don’t believe he said ,”mom , tonight I slept with that grey haired  guy in glasses, he snores like saw mill “. Ferry is whole 4 baht , 25% rise from Decemver when I paid only 3.
From Wat Arun we took tourist boat to Saphan Taksin  at 50 a piece for single trip and there by BTS to Silom where we parted our ways. Than you both gentlemen for such interesting trip.
Jet lag is still there so I had some rest in the room, went to change money as at those tip rates is almost daily ritual, did some laundry and at dark to soi 4 for my daily schnitzel .I truly don’t like soi 4 and never did but somehow this trip I’m frequenting it daily, shame on me.
After dinner to Hot Male downstairs bar for chat with paulsf, jimbill  and bar boys there with Alex behind the counter and tiny Laotioan clingy as always.
From my rotation today was supposed to be Jupiter day so it’s where we went to feast on their handsome guys , in process to get frozen and deaf  at the same time. A/C was set waaaaaaaaaaaaay too low and sound volume  waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too high.
   We had out drinks , watched the show and parade of their semi-gods looking great and even greater but lacking smiles as always but due to noise it was impossible to say and hear the word so with great relief we left that noisy Arctic and I went to Tawan . I wanted to off Dum who fortunately was available and I sensed , upon seeing me full of hope today will be his turn. It was late so not much time in bar, drink , off fee and off we went to Raya.
Since I offed him few times in the past he had all advantages of known quality. Wanted 4000, I offered 3000, he reluctantly but wisely agreed . Why wisely ? Because that was max I ordered myself to offer for tonight.
K, hero of my first night no doubt told him what he got as they are friends and hailing from the same city but  muscle  beats belly any time in my books and he knew it. But there are very few babies in the world who have such silky skin Dum has. So I finished day 4 holding 30 y.o. baby in my arms.

Day 2 : Grindr Day
On day 1 of my trip to Bangkok, I already had the feeling that the Bangkok bar scene wasn’t the same anymore. Not sure if the glass was half full, or half empty.
Thai people call day 2 of my visit Visakha Bucha Day, a public holiday that commemorates the 3 mayor events in the life of Buddha. All bars are closed today and now Patpong looks really bad and deserted, especially after dark. Without the neon lights, these sois are really ugly. Glass 200% empty...
For me, day 2 was a Grindr Day. When you connect to the app, it is easy to make contact to boys in the neighborhood.
I recognize one of the boys I had been drinking with in 4T-bar in Jomtien during pre-covid visit, so I invite him over. He now is freelancer, travelling between Pattaya and Bangkok. He advertises as “happy boy” and sure he made me very happy. As it was time for lunch afterwards, I invite him to Indigo Restaurant, a real referenced Michelin restaurant on Covent Road. I don’t often offer food to boys, but happy I did it this time.
It is amazing to see how many of the better looking twinks are now freelancing on apps instead of working in bars.

I was in M2M, Jomtien Complex, tonight to watch their Monday show. It was good, highly energetic as usual. There is one dancer who looks hot and I think he's also the best dancer of the night. Probably even has some formal training in dancing the way he moves and pirouettes. Just wonder if we have a chance to off a performer from a show? Anybody here tried it?

My memory is a bit fogged due to Singha beer but as I recall:
The ground floor premises was originally a Tapas.  Welcome bar (next to Telephone and rented from Balcony) then, or later, rented the upstairs room and opened it as a small gogo bar, named Banana Room. It also had ladyboy shows but they weren't happy because the low ceiling spoiled their headdresses.
At some stage Tapas became Banana Bar. The upstairs was Banana Room Club (still to this day owned by the owner of the now defunct Welcome bar).
I never found out if Banana was connected to Twilight Banana.

For a long time the downstairs was being renovated, then lockdown.
At some time during the last two years, upstairs operated as a 'restaurant' where people could sing along .

Day 1
Tittle sounds somewhat dramatic but I couldn’t think about something better reflecting that, my 22nd trip to Thailand  so here we go.
As soon as I recovered from jet lag after returning from my December trip I start plotting when my next one should be. Not only missing Thailand but also still not depleted travel fund  made itching to go unbearable  so I decided to go in May , in my circumstances meaning ASAP.
Thailand Pass approval came in a day, I managed to secure quite good  flight price with somewhat exotic connection through New Delhi with equally exotic arrival time at 5 a.m.
On my way I had a bit of crisis sitting so long in the silver tube, after 8 hours realizing that it’s only mid-way  that I started having doubts if  it’s to long before I decide that those  long  flights are not for my anymore.
At 5 in the morning Swampy was quite empty and since plane parked at very far end of terminal it was good 15 minutes walk to immigration allowing me to finally stretch my legs  not to mention ventilate my digestive system after almost full day on the go. Since I travel light no waiting for the luggage, just purchase Thai SIM card and I was on my way to train station, managed even to check exchange rates in adjacent kiosks and find them this time disappointing  so wisely as it turned out I decided to  exchange money in my favorite spot XONE on Suriwong  close to my first stop – Tarntawan.
Historic moment for me –  for a first time I took first train of the day out of Swampy  and in 45 minutes or so I was marching toward hotel through already bustling part of Silom .
I did not want any issues with early checking  so took an advantage of their low rates and booked for day before  asking them to keep the room  as I will be arriving early in the morning. This way I could go straight to the  room to shower and take short nap.
Rested I went to world famous , UNESCO heritage , 7 ½ Michelin stars Foodland for a breakfast, exchanged money , made rounds through Silom sois and around 1 pm went around the corner to see if it’s really true that Tawan is offering massages during day. It was opened, sign posted ‘massage 500” and lonely guy named  M sitting at the door. He lead me through now empty bar to a staircase , we climbed all the way to 4th floor to find  few neat massage rooms.
Massage was good , after about 1 hr I made some indecent but well received move  and we went to stage 2 . Good start of the trip , promised to come later for the show, tip 1500 for 1.5 hr. session.
 Walked again length of Silom on both sides to see signs of gentrifications with shiny eateries and shops taking place of former ordinary ones. In the hotel I nap for a hour, than used Line to ask certain V, known to me from last trip if he can come for 2 hours of reunion . Answer come right away and soon he was knocking my door. Tawan is by far friendlest bar in BKK, as soon as we showed up buys and mamasans rushed to shake our hands, few boys recognized me right away including Dam , whom I offed few times already and M, who massaged me few hours earlier. A few minutes after he came into the hotel room, it started raining outside. So looks like we were stuck indoors for the afternoon. I filled up the bath tub and let T choose the bubble bath flavour. He chose lavender and the next hour or so we got reacquainted. Once the rain stopped, we headed out, had early dinner at a Japanese restaurant followed by massage at Prime massage. He was shot and fell from cliff into the ocean. "But they didn't show his body," T said. Yes, I agree! For all his fans, I hope he returns in Squid Game sequel.
T and I realised that we had not watched the latest season of Stranger Things. I did a screen mirror of my tablet to the hotel TV and we lay in bed and started watching the first two episodes of season 4. After all, it was still early. We had planned to go to Fake Club at 10pm.
However, after the cliffhanger at the end of the second episode, I turned to T, "How about we forget about Fake Club and let's just spend the whole night watching the entire season 4 of Stranger Things?" T agreed and I clicked to start the third episode. And so that was how the night went. Instead of partying at a club with loud music and drinks, we were a domesticated couple watching TV. At midnight, we went to Foodland Patpong for supper then came back to hotel room to continue watching Stranger Things. We called it a night at 2am with another two episodes of season 4 to go.
I was up at 8am and felt T's morning wood next to me. I woke him for some light fun. After that, we went down for breakfast at hotel buffet. I had not booked a room package with breakfast so I would have to pay for any breakfast separately. Usual price 800 baht but I was given discounted price of 360 baht. Good value for money. We ate and surveyed the other hotel guests having breakfast. Most seemed to be here on business trips. Only some who are here on holiday. There were 2 Chinese guys eating together. Tall and gym fit. Eye candy for the eyes. "Singaporean?" T wondered. We then tooks turn walking past their table to get our food. Nope, from their American accent, either Taiwan or US.
After breakfast, we went back to hotel room to continue watching Stranger Things. This time round, I could turn the volume of the TV up as unlikely to have other hotel guests in nearby rooms in morning. At 11am, T had to go off to report to work. We hugged and I thanked T. I was grateful and happy to have had the chance to experience what couples enjoy. No wild night but a simple quiet night of domestic bliss.

Le Meridien does give you a small bottle of mouth rinse per day. You can find it in the bathroom, right below the sink.

I was in New Twilight last night, around 10pm. 5 or 6 groups of customers, not bad for a rainy Monday night. 350B for a soft drink.
They had 4 floor boys in total, who were fully clothed (not even a sleeve or seam off) and stayed on stage the whole time (Some members reported 20 guys during their visits, so I guess it was just my luck).
Their shows, obviously home-grown, were amateurish with some performers in slow motion trying to remember their next moves One of the dancers is out of shape, bald and beer-belly in a tight, he looked more like a customer than a performer.

When I left, no problems of Marmasans rushing in for a tip (maybe cuz I don't look like I have much money to throw around).

Seriously, though, I don't think the young guys I have been lucky enough to meet up with have been attracted only by photos - although if I had photos which made me look like the face of a camel I might have had a problem. There just seem to be some guys in some of the cities I listed whose only interest is in hooking up with older farang. For them this is certainly not so easy when living in Tokyo, Taipei and Danang, and no doubt quite a few other places.
A former bf of 5 years who lives in Taipei and with whom I get together for brunch whenever I visit is always complaining that he is unable to find a suitable older westerner.
