Ok, now after the amazing night and long sleep I finally dragged myself from the comfort of the bed and down to meet my ride to Pattaya. As usual, I booked Nam's taxi the day before and my driver was waiting for me just before our scheduled time. 1200 baht and a 2-hour drive from my Bangkok hotel to East Suites.
    Pattaya
I had already arranged my first rendezvous from Bangkok on Grindr, so when I arrived I had a quick shower and was deep in warm embrace within my first hour of being in Pattaya, off to a very good start!
After a while of relaxing as night was falling, I decided to go for a walk around Jomtien Complex. Wow! it is very busy compared to April,  I wouldn't say as busy as Songkran customer-wise, but definitely more guys/staff. It looks a lot less dreary with all of the lights on, and some new bars have popped up around the sois.
I decided to step into a Bu Bu bar, I didn't remember being there next to Dick's Cafe in April, but they had menus out the front and some nice welcoming staff. So I'll stop in for food and a drink, it turned out the menus were from the small restaurants across the soi. I went for the Thai menu made by Sofia's Thai, oh boy it was delicious! This Chicken Cashew was hands down the best I've had. I went back another night and tried some more dishes, it was consistently great food. I found Bu Bu was a good place to sit and order from, giving a good view of the edge of Soda Massage and the comings and goings of the guys headed to work in the bars.
As for the massage shops in the complex.
There's the small shop (I can't recall the name) on the Thappraya side of Dick's Cafe, only 2-4 staff, but they looked more muscular and suspect better at actual massage.
Soda Massage has a bright new sign above it, hard to count numbers but I think around 15+ staff, a mix of twinks and twunks.
Then the massage around the corner toward Agate (again, can't remember the name), around 10-15 guys mixed twinks, twunks, hunks. Some very hot guys here as well.
The Jomtien Complex bars between them had a LOOOOT of guys, I won't try to give estimates but I'd say something for everyone can be found there. Closing time is around 1-2am, then just as during April the party moves down to the beach where groups will sit around with drinks and food until the early hours.
Well, I'm back in Pattaya and I know there's a little gogo bar over in Sunee screaming my name, so at around 9pm I head over to Winner. 60baht and 5 minutes by motosai I'm headed down the darkened Sunee plaza with the shining lights and usual squeals of the boys from Winner filling the air. My happy place.
Now I won't sugar coat it too much, Winner has been struggling through covid. I often sat and talked with the owner at length in April and this trip about life and the bar, he's an absolute gem in my eyes, he cares for the staff and they care for him. However, there's a problem.. he is in a bit of a catch-22 situation, trying to keep enough staff to meet the customer demand without bleeding salary money in the quiet months after such a long time of having to keep the doors open with savings. Current guys in the bar is around 6-8, and they are all fantastic friendly cute guys (in white little speedos), but if it's a busy night and guys are being off'd it can be slim pickings. Get there early at 8-9 pm if you want to have the best shot at seeing all of them there. They don't tend to stand around on the podiums too long, they will mingle with the customers and run around the soi half naked to the food carts, so if you pop your head in and see an empty stage don't fret.
I spent most nights at Winner this trip, drinking and joking around with the guys, they're just good fun. The drink prices are cheap and no one is ever pushy, so I was content. I did have 3-4 of the guys in my sights, but I only ended up with 2 and repeating the second for a couple of nights.
I didn't make it to Boyztown at night, but when I did pass through on one early afternoon it looked a lot better. Ambiance is open again by the look of it, and all of the bars were setting up chairs out the front. Next trip I will dive back into BT and see what I can find in Toy Boys and the rest of this area. Time just wasn't on my side this trip.
I had daily massages at Soda Massage and the occasional Grindr meetup, performance was good on all accounts, not a single dud this time in Pattaya.
I'm reluctant to discuss this much, but I'll mention it. With the new laws regarding the decriminalization of the green flower, I decided to have a look at the offerings. I found the best shop was a dispensary one soi over from Sunee toward Tuckom called World Wide Weed (WWW), big selection and a friendly owner. I read some bad reviews about the shop(s) on walking street, maybe be cautious with them.
If you do partake there are some rules to remember, they can't sell prerolled but they have papers and anything else you need. You cannot smoke in public or in bars, it is a 25k baht fine if you smoke it on the beach, but your hotel balcony is ok or the dispensary has a dedicated space to sample your purchase. 750baht/g for most of the selection, allegedly the quality is very good.
I'm slowly trying every hotel in the Jomtien Complex, this time it was East Suites turn. The master room was very spacious, the price was really good, but no elevator, there was some noise pollution from the bars until 1 or 2 am, and I had to chase around a cockroach one night. Agate is still winning in my current standings, but Zing Resort is possibly next on my list to try.
TT money exchange down Thappraya towards the beach still has the best exchange rates in the area, comparable to the airport basement.
I think that's about all, I took Nam's taxi back to Swampy and check-in was fine but my flights were packed full again. A successful week that felt a lot longer., thanks for reading.

I wanted to go there but on the way I decided to go past "The Best Massage" and the guy sitting outside smiled at me so I changed plan...

Since you like that place so much, I figure it would not have the type of masseurs I want. If they hire some twinks, I would be there in a jiffy.
I did read those very informative reports in your blog and still remember that fucking show performer. But I don't think we are talking about the same guy. The current Fresh Boys star looks like he's in his twenties

After making my usual rounds this week at Dream Boy, Fresh Boys and New Twilight (in that order) and offed three boys of different nationalities (Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar, respectively), one from each bar, here are some updates.
    1. Drink price and boy's cut: Dream Boy is the most expensive at 450B for both customer and boy drink, Fresh Boy: 400B, and New Twilight: 350B. Boys all got 100B from their own drinks. The bar fines (or off fees) are all the same: 500B (but different from Pattaya bars, as reported in earlier parts, boys in Bangkok bars receive nothing from the bar fine).

    2. Boy's basic salary: all three bars provide some incentive for boys, who show up at work on time (8pm) and who do not have an off that night (boy drinks don't count). This amount varies from bar to bar though. Dream Boy stingiest with 100B/night, Fresh Boy better with 150, New Twilight most generous with 200 (on par with Banana Room reported in part 8).
Fresh Boy also had this weird rule: if the previous night you don't have a customer, the next day nobody cares if you show up for work or not. But if you had a customer the night before and you don't show up the next day, bar assumes that you are still with that customer and you have to pay a bar fine of 500B. Since the boy I offed from Fresh Boy is Viet and we talked in Vietnamese, I think I got this correctly.
    3. Number of boys: Since Dream Boy currently boasts the largest cast (more than 40), Fresh Boy middle of the pack (around 25) and New Twilight (less than a dozen, 7 floor boys and 4 show boys the night I visited) comes last, the above-mentioned incentive appears to play a lesser part in boys' decision of where to work.
I think number of potential customers is far more important. Fresh Boy and Dream Boy both played to a packed house the nights I visited (drizzling midweek nights) and many boys got off. Things did not bode well at all for New Twilight: Saturday night, perfect weather (pretty cool but no rain) and only 6 customers (4 alone and 2 together) at the time the show started (10p30). A few more arrived during a show. There was a large gaggle of young male farangs coming in, who could easily double or triple the "crowd" size in the house if they decided to stay, but they didn't. I think when they saw there were only a few boys on stage, fully-clothed, they backed out immediately.
    4. Speaking of New Twilight's attire problems, I made it a point to complain loudly to 2 different mamasans about what the boys were wearing on stage (this is a GO-GO bar with GO-GO prices, why LONG jeans and black t-shirts with LONG sleeves, revealing almost nothing; the boys all looked like valet parking attendants in some casino hotel in Cambodia). Both mamasans assured me boys would wear less later (after the second show, around midnight), but I didn't see that happened.
When I finally picked a boy, before making my decision (actually I already made my decision when he showed me shirtless pictures on his phone), just for added effect, I asked him to get back on stage at least shirtless.
He took off his shirts and stood at the end of the rotation. Then it looked like he explained the situation to other boys and moved up front so I can admire his toned body. I nodded my approval "that's how it's done", told the mamasan (who recognized me from the early X-boy and Lucky Boys days and still remembered I'm Vietnamese) to go get the tab. Funny enough, when my boy got back to me, another on stage also took off his shirt (probably in hope of getting more attention?)
I also saw that most boys who were asked to come and sit with a customer are show boys, who wore underwear most of the time, and one got an off and left with a customer after the final show, around the same time I left with mine, a bit after midnight.
Another problem (New Twilight's freezing aircons which other members complained about) was also addressed several times that night. When I put on my light jacket, a mamasan asked if they should adjust the temperature (good customer care). Then another customer on my left asked them to change it again because it was still freaking cold. Then just before their second show, one of the dancers in a skimpy outfit asked for the third time. It was then warm enough I had to take off my jacket to reveal my toned body. Sorry I digress...
    5. The "You can f*ck me but keep it an open secret" trend: as discussed in part 10, I noticed this phenomenon years ago in Vietnamese MBs in Vietnam, but this time, I start noticing it too in Bangkok bars.
When I visited Hotmale earlier this week, the only one I would consider offing is No 34. Checked with a mamasan, who said he's Thai and straight. "Can I f*ck him?" "No, he's men." A few minutes later, another mamasan, who somehow got wind of my enquiry, approached me and said "You can f*ck him but you have to pay more. But keep it a secret because he's shy and doesn't want others to know".
I refrained from asking the obvious question "then how come do you know?", "how much more?"
Mamasan didn't know (maybe it was an even bigger secret) and ran off to asked, then came back with "He wanted 5000" (same level as Moonlight models?). I don't think so, so I didn't off anyone from Hotmale that night.
Then in New Twilight, the boy I picked was also straight. Both he and mamasan said he's willing to bottom (not asking for more money though) but again, it's a secret (I tell only you) nobody knows (except those who know).
    6. This time, I continued to off mostly new faces, as is my wont. I was second customer of the boy in Dream Boy, who was a 26-year-old hair stylist back in Cambodia and who needed money to pay off his big loan.
I was (again) the first customer ever of that boy who got on stage shirtless in New Twilight. He was from Myanmar and just started 2 weeks ago, got two boy drinks but no off yet. It seems he's indeed new and tended to do exactly what I told him.
Back in the hotel, I gave him a toothbrush. He went off brushing his teeth, then came back, still wearing his jeans. "You didn't take a shower?" I asked him. "I have to take a shower?" Off he went back to the bathroom. Later, it turned out, not just was this the first time he slept with a man, it was the first time he slept with anyone (He hasn't even slept with a girl yet, never had a girlfriend, and he's 21 years old already. Must have come from a far-flung backwater area.) Didn't even know how to kiss with tongue. "Are you nervous?" I asked him. "No, I'm not nervous.... I'm afraid. This is my first."
Speaking of "first time", I was also the first time ever of Little Lao in part 11. Born to a farmer's family, grew up in a rural area and only did farming work, he never had a chance to have sex with men, let alone have a boy friend. "I went to Thailand to earn money but also to have opportunities to have sex with men," so he told me after that farce of threesome also reported in part 11. "I slept with 4 or 5 men so far" He added (proudly? but appears to lose count already though)
Anyway, what happened with the Viet boy I offed from Fresh Boy was more hilarious. He was far more popular than the other two and also the youngest at 18 years old. He started in Fresh Boy 5 days ago and I was already his fourth customer. That means he got customers, both farang and Asian, almost every day. Can't speak English and Thai (not yet), very sweet and nice to talk to in his mother tongue, I think he would follow the same route as other cute Viet boys I met in Fresh Boy. Popular at fist as a cute new face, but no repeats. His idea of servicing a customer is still pretty much jerking himself off to a porn video while the customer watches.
Just out of curiosity, I also asked him how much it would take to f*ck him. He said, he would consider bottoming, and since this is his first time, to "take his flower" or to "pop his cherry" (or whatever expressions you think would fit), a customer needs to pay 50.000 bath. To be fair, in Vietnam, virginity traditionally matters a lot and wealthy businessmen have been known to pay many times of that amount to deflower a girl, believing doing so would bring them good luck. Anyway, the boy in question, in stark contrast with the Myanmar boy, slept with girls before he reached 18 (the consent age in Vietnam is 16) and already got a new Viet girlfriend who's only 17 right here in Bangkok, barely five days after he arrived, so I think the matter of virginity is not really relevant here.
    7. Finally, some funny tidbits.
I agreed with some other members' observations: New Twilight white-wearing waiters are generally cuter and also more gay than their floor boys. Because @jason1975 got a regular working as waiter in the bar and he made it clear that his friends stay away from his man, I have to be sure. When I came in, my first question to a cute waiter who greeted me was "Who's Jason's man?" (so that I can stay away from him) "Everyone else, but me" came back the answer. Sorry this is totally made-up. I just wanted to pull Jason's proverbial leg.
The fucking show in Fresh Boy that night had to stop midway, I guess because the top can't keep it hard. So they went backstage and the audience was asked to watch a cabaret performance while the boys got themselves ready again (I don't know how). The Viet boy sitting with me gave his kudos to the top - who he saw, during his five days working in Fresh Boy, perform every night, three different shows each day, all requiring a sustained hard-on (first a jerk-off solo on a couch, then the big cock show, finally the fucking show).
Should I start a blue pill donation campaign to help him out? I'm sure many members here have one or two to spare.

I did read those very informative reports in your blog and still remember that fucking show performer. But I don't think we are talking about the same guy. The current Fresh Boys star looks like he's in his twenties

(part 12, truly in a tidbit fashion)

It certainly isn't my modus operandi, but like I said this was an outstanding night.
TMI: Bath>shower>bed>bath again>bed again. After the first pop, he was not letting me get out of it that easy. Perhaps the last 30 minutes we were both collapsed on the bed too exhausted to move just holding eachother, but i still count it.
Even thinking about it now, brings a smile to my face.

I stopped obsessing about the nature and the worth of my relationship with P long ago, realising that, however  unsatisfactory, disappointing and even painful it can be, it was the best that either of us could expect ever to have. And so we should be grateful.
I no longer worry about its origins in a Pattaya bar, the thousands of miles that separate us, nor the fact that he maintains his decent standard of living only  because of my ability to support him. What this relationship is now, it has always been and always will be, up to  separation by death.  And since he believes in the transmigration of souls, for him, even beyond.

My partner doesn't care that I hire, as long as it isn't in the house. She knew I was gay when I married her. But, she's my best friend, and I'd be lost without her. All relationships are compromise, that was part of ours.  We're coming up on 30 years, so it works for us.
I spent most of my 20s trying to find the perfect guy and realized that spiritual fit and sexual fit was too high a bar for me. That's when I finally realized I had my life mate, I just wasn't interested in fucking her which was totally fine by her.
It adds an extra expense to the budget, but the benefit is that my boyfriend of the hour is always hot and fresh.

I would not go to Thailand hoping to find a real boyfriend - one who I didn't have to pay for.
The type of guy I would look for  - hot, handsome, young and hung - would not find me attractive. I'd be wasting my time looking.
I always travel to Thailand (and S.E. Asia in general) by myself, as my gay friends are not interested in Asians. (No, I don't get it either!) But I'm never lonely because I have a couple of guys I spend all my time with. They offer great companionship and are just lovely guys. Of course, they are money boys but they never ask for anything. I'm the one who suggests we should go shopping because I like spending money on them. (And on myself, too!) Sometimes they even reject my offer to buy them something. WTF??

    - It's ok. Already have.
    - But it's old. Don't you want a new one?
    - It still working. No need.

If they were gay and I were their age, either would be perfect for me. I'd love to have one (or both) as a real (no money involved) boyfriend. But there's no guarantee that they'd want me.
I've had real live-in boyfriends in the past but now I'm single. I'm alone but not lonely as I have lots of friends, both gay and straight, who I care about very much. My sex life here is catered for by 2 hot money boys I see on a regular basis - but not at the same time.
Loneliness is a by-product of getting old, especially for men. It's important to build up a social group and to see them often. Joining various clubs and taking up new hobbies is a great way to find friends. There's nothing better then practising hobbies with like-minded people. They don't have to be gay, although many of my friends are. But all my friends, gay and straight, mix in together.
But I imagine forming new social relationships with farang would be a little more difficult if you were to move to Thailand to live.

This will just be a short update report, I spent a long visit to Thailand a few months ago and this trip was just a side visit because I was 'in the area'. Taking every opportunity that arises I spent a week between Bangkok and Pattaya, too short to get to all of the bars I wanted, but long enough to get a feel for the recovery.
My prior trip was still enjoyable, but dealing with the Thailand pass hoops and the shifting sands of closing time restrictions, outdoor 'restaurant' seating only, and other covid measures did put a cloud over things. I'm happy to say a lot of these hurdles are now gone, and the life in the bars is returning.
    Firstly, getting there:
No more Thailand Pass paperwork 👍 Vaccine paperwork not checked on arrival, just at check-in 👍 Immagration was a 15 minute affair, just as before 2020 👍 Flight prices are crazy and my flights were full 👎 The exchange booths in the basement adjacent to the aiport station were open, 2 with identical rates, then the one bank (i cant recall which) booth with worse rates. Up a few levels and out to a Taxi, it felt so good to be in and out of the airport in 30 mins, in a taxi zipping down the motorway to Silom.
    Bangkok
The first thing I always do is walk the Surawong, Tawan, Silom Rd, Thaniya block. It was around 8pm for reference.
Surawong: Olivia massage was open with 8-10 guys (1-2 twinks), Green Massage was about the same.
Tawan side: I think I counted 3 massage shops with guys outside, more muscle guys.
Silom to the right of soi Tawan:  A new shop Nineteen massage, I only saw 2-3 guys out front, none I fancied so I didn't poke my head in.
Silom past patpong/soi4/soi2: The touts are back, a few massage offers from the guys outside Soi 4 for Adam Massage. The soi 4 bars were open and a bit of foot traffic, which was a good sign.
On the path back from Thaniya I believe Amolir was open again, but I missed it in my notes on whether it is still mixed-sex or only ladies.
The massage places are coming back to life, much more choice than earlier this year.
I returned to Patpong later, and was flanked by touts as I stroll up the stairs to Fresh Boys... busy busy busy. They were down to 2-3 open benches left, there was about 25 guys on stage and waiting in rotation. Most of the guys I would describe as twunks, 3-4 twinks, shirtless in white booty shorts and a couple of cute waiters. The shows are never my highlight, but they at least have big cock pole kicking back I guess. My off was a bit of a dud, seemed to be new to the scene, but it's still good to be back.
On the following afternoon I decided to investigate Olivia Massage, just as I picked my massuese another guy walked out that would have absolutely been my first choice. Oh well, I'm not going to let the guy down and switch half way in the door with him. Now I don't think i've been to Olivia before, I was under the impression it was generally considered a 'extras' kind of place. The guy I picked stayed fully clothed and made no advance to asking for extras, I made some not so subtle hints but he didn't take the bait. He was very new, very limited massage skills and no english.
I made my way to Banana room after dinner at G's, Banana had i think 8-12 guys, still more twunks but a few options for me. I didn't end up taking anyone, just some drinks and enjoying the views.
My final Bangkok day I did the rounds of the massage shops, but it was a bit early in the afternoon ~12pm. The guy from Olivia said hi, but the guy I really wanted to return for wasn't in. Green massage was empty this early so I did a walk past nineteen and it's too early for them too. Decided to pass and make my way back to the hotel.
I had a coffee at the cafe beside The Quarter opposite mango tree (can't find on google maps). I picked beans from Chang Mai, absolutely delicious. Coffee lovers should give it a try and see if they're consistent, I only tried it once.
Back at the hotel I fired up Grindr and set up a meeting with a university guy. He came over later and it was the best sex I've had in a very very long time, I was in heaven for a good 2-3 hours. We exchanged Line and I was considering canceling Pattaya to get the rest of the week with him, but I decided to hold strong and stick with the plan. I'll be back for him again another trip hopefully.
That was my Bangkok stay, very brief, but some very good signs for the recovery. I'll post Pattaya in the next day or so.

    (part 11)
Another story of a failed threesome
It all started in Boyztown when I fired up Hornet that afternoon and saw a fresh cute face just a short distance away. His profile says he's from Laos. So I said Hello, and he replied in English "I'm moneyboy. Give me 1000 Baht".
Pretty turned off by this style of soliciting, I got off. A few days later, I saw that cute face again in Boyz Boyz Boyz, looking pretty much like his profile picture and in the same clothes.
Liking what I saw, I struck up conversation again. He said he also recognized me from my Hornet picture. Turns out the first time we talked was his very first day in town and he wasn't yet well-versed in the subtleties of asking for money from prospective customers. All forgiven then.
22 years old, from somewhere near Vientiane, so far no customers yet and with very little money left (he even showed me his wallet: some changes in Thai baht and a note of 5 USD - probably his emergency fund). Since he asked for 1000 Baht before (big mistake), I offered "1000 Baht for short time, okay?"
We proceeded to my hotel nearby. He got showered, then checked his phone, reading a new message, then turned to me "Can you give me 200 more for taxi" (already forgot he told me he had been staying in Tukcom, just a few minutes walk from my hotel). It looked like someone started giving him relevant tips. I was like "Ok" (I intended to give him the standard 1500 anyway, unless he's a total dud in bed).
I liked both his face and his body, small but firm, and especially his very cute butts. His tool, on the other hand, is pretty... how can I say this nicely... well, it has a nice personality. This fact though gave me some self-esteem boost because mine looked quite huge next to his. As a top only, I care a lot more about the butts and belly area and usually have not much problem with small dick sizes as long as I don't have to use a magnifying glass to locate it.
The bigger problem was that he came super super quickly. Just a few strokes then he gripped my active hand, stopping it from moving, and before I realized what happened, it happened. I had barely begun anything. "Why so quick?" He turned to google translation for help with explaining "I was too emotional".
It was also pretty awkward at first when penetration began. He was totally clueless about how to position himself to ease the process. I got myself a bottom virgin or what? But once it was underway, he seemed to enjoy it - which was always a big turn-on for me.
Two days later, when the Thai from X-boy ditched me for another potential off that did not materialize (see part 10, who, by the way, kept sending me messages day after day about how lonely he was, when I would be back, why make him wait so long - a week in between repeats seems like eternity to certain bar boys with not so many customers, promising he "wait me alone" this time etc.), I called the Lao as a last-minute replacement.
Our second time went much smoother as we got to know each other a bit better. I was careful not to do anything to trigger his "short" fuse (in every sense of the word) to keep him hard through out before I finished. Once I came, it took me less than a minute to catapult him to climax. Quick as it might sound, I would say, he has come a long way from our first encounter.
I gave him the same 1500 as the last time and he now asked for an extra 100 for taxi, which I obliged. Looks like he started mastering the subtleties of prying more money from easy-going customers.
Back to Pattaya this time, I first stayed in Agate in Jomtien Complex. That evening, I fired up Hornet and again saw that cute face just a short distance away (let's call him Little Lao because he's indeed little). I thought he was a few kilometers away in Boyztown.
Walking down the main soi, I soon found out why. Spotting him sitting with another Lao friend (whom I also saw working in Boyz Boyz Boyz last time) in Divarium, I stopped by. Buying drinks for both of them and a Thai, who massaged me last time in Soda. He has been freelancing at both places (I never quite get the difference between regular staff and freelancer in a boy bar. They both earned tips from drink and bar fine. It looks like regular staff have to report to work daily, are expected to be on time, and earns some bar allowance if they have no drinks or offs that night. Freelancers come and go as they wish with no allowance).
The Thai speaks good English so I enlisted his help for translation when needed.
So we talked. Little Lao and his Lao friend (let's call him Big Lao because he's taller and bigger) recently moved from Boyztown to Jomtien because "too many boys there" Little Lao said, "too much competition" Big Lao chipped in. In fact I was not only Little Lao's first customer, I was his only customer during the time he worked in Boyz Boyz Boyz.
Although Big Lao (same age as Little Lao but looked younger) has a quite cute face and smooth fair skin, he's on a hefty side (1m74, 60 kg he told me) so not really what I'm into. My initial plan was to off Little Lao again. But I felt kinda bored that evening.
Then the fact that they are from the same country, friends and also roommates, both worked in Boyz Boyz Boyz, reminded me of something. So I enquired further "Any of you has a brother, who's currently in Pattaya?" Both shook their little and big head. So there gone the grand idea of reconstructing a classic scene from a cult movie. For members who are not familiar with this reference, I included below a few lines from the movie's original transcript.

Anyhoo, I carried on with the idea of offing both of them just for the heck of it. Double checked by asking them directly and then though the Thai's translation to make sure they had no problems with this arrangement. No problems, firmly confirmed.
So I paid for my soft drink (60), three boy drinks (150 each, boy gets to keep 50), and two off fees (300 each, boy gets to keep 100), tipped the Thai 200 for his help with translation.
We walked back to Agate at around 10.30 pm. Both receptionists were still on duty so they checked for Id. Little Lao carried with him the physical passport, Big Lao - only a picture on his phone. Both were accepted and no joiner fees were required (I booked a double room).
Up in the room, both stripped down to their underwear. Little Lao was still little, Big Lao was indeed pretty big (I think he lied about his weight - should be at least 5kg heavier). Big Lao went to shower first and he took quite a while - at least 20 minutes. Little Lao and I cuddled a bit and I could tell he was getting hard just from my running fingers over his body. It seems he genuinely likes me.
However, getting hard didn't mean nothing else is going on in his other mind.
"So you f*ck me, or you f*ck him?"
Based on what I saw them in underwear, I was pretty sure "I'll f*ck you only"
He smiled as this was exactly what he was getting at.
"If you f*ck me only, can I get more money?" Didn't sound like their bonded friendship was that strong.
I calmly told him I needed to be fair and would give them equal amount this time. Next time, I would off only him and would give him more money. "Thank you" his voice was very soft, almost sounded like a child. He hugged me tighter and his little bird was now hard as a rock. So he genuinely likes me, but obviously not anywhere in the vicinity of his love for money.
I feel embarrassed to tell you what happened next but I will anyway. My professor in Orgy-ology, vinapu, must have good laughs at my expense.
In bed, the discussion continued re. who f*ck who.
"I f*ck you, you f*ck him" was Big Lao's suggestion.
"No I'm top only, so I f*ck him, then he f*ck you" was my counteroffer, which made Big Lao laughed his head off, so hard he almost fell off the bed (probably at the mere image of Little Lao's tiny prick poking at his immense bottoms).
"How about you and I both f*ck him" was my other idea which is cue for Little Lao's turn to react unreasonably. "Noooo, I only let you f*ck me"  He screamed, clinging to me for dear life.
Since this wasn't going anywhere, we decided they both work on me first so I get ready to perform, then I decide who I wanna f*ck and the person who doesn't get f*cked chuckwow on his own.
Two Laos then talked in their mother tongue and decided Big Lao take care the upper part, Little Lao - the lower part.
Then we achieved a new level of awkwardness. None of them wanted the other to see his own junk, so Big Lao focused more on using the blanket to strategically cover his not-so-easy-to-cover body, while Little Lao kept his underwear on.
After a while, I decided Big Lao turn to one side to chuckwow while I work on Little Lao under the cover. They then started talking to each other in their first language again, it was very distracting as nobody could keep it hard for long. At one point I had to tell them to shut up, but still, I couldn't finish.
Seeing this was already a fiasco, to get it over with, I told them everyone chuckwow and no one could get up until he cum. That had an immediate effect on Big Lao, who stopped talking and kept at his task at hand. After a minute, Little Lao started talking again, only to be shut up by the glaring Big Lao, who now also found it in his way.
Big Lao cum first. If we were in Nice Boys, he might have won that 300 Bath-prize.
I finished second but it took forever for Little Lao, which is a big surprise based on past statistics. I figured out what might be problem and told Big Lao to shower first. Once he was out of sight, Little Lao achieved orgasm in less than a minute as usual. Now come to think of it, if only I told him there were a 300 Bath at stake, we might have a new world record.
It seemed Little Lao's bed behavior was very different when his friend was around, and not in a good way, except for the money haggling part, which is in itself no good news either.
When they were about to leave, I gave them their money. Big Lao barely glanced at his, but his eyes glued intently on what I gave Little Lao, probably to make sure that they received the same amount (he could tell I was more attracted to his friend). Again, didn't sound like the bond between the two was that strong, mutually.
Once they were gone, I recounted my thick wad of remaining 1000 notes, telling myself "Never again", which exactly what I told myself after my previous feeble attempt at threesome. Some people just never learned.
Before you all scoffed at me, I did learn my lesson. The next day, I was in Toy Boy, and again torn between two boys, both also from Laos (now it looks like I have a thing for Lao twinks), both attractive but in different ways.
The first one, 26, more fair, worked in Toy Boy before Covid so he's pro (evidenced by the way he touched me in all right places right there in the bar). The second one, 23, more tanned and more toned, looked like he came straight from some paddy (indeed he was a farmer back home).
Seeing what the other was doing, he also tried to massage me, awkwardly, using a bit too much of force. But his awkward shyness was actually what attracted me in the first place (and probably why I ended up being the first customer for quite a few boys in my life).
After talking to them and knowing that First Lao got about 2 offs from the bar each week and Second Lao, only working there for less than a month, had no off yet and had so far survived on drink tips, I decided to off the Second Lao first. When he got up to get dressed, the whole bar cast cheered up for him, some even clapping, probably for winning his first customer. It looked like they were truly happy for him.
Total expense (noticeably more expensive than Jomtien as this is Boyztown): 220 for my soft drink, 250 x 2 for two boys drink (boy gets to keep 100), 500 for one bar fine (boy gets to keep 100), 200 tip for the boy I didn't off (who accepted the missed opportunity gracefully) with a promise I'll off him next time, 40 x 2 tip for two other boys in underwear on stage, who tried pretty hard to get my attention, 50 tip for the mamasan who helped with the off, 20 tip left on the receipt folder, and last but not least, 1500 short time fee for the boy I picked. There was another mamasan, who had nothing to do with the whole process, shoved his hand to my face demanding tip to which I firmly said No.
I checked to make sure Second Lao bring his passport. He did. However, this time, I brought the boy back to Agate quite late (around 11h30 pm), there were no receptionists on duty and hence no Id check. The one night guard sitting outside couldn't care less.

Just got the above Hornet offer from probably one of the expats retiring to Pattaya. Straight to the point, zero social pleasantries, but with enough relevant information for people who need it.
I feel flattered (someone still thinks I'm worth 1000B). It's also evidence that 1000 is the on-going rate some local expats would pay for short time service. Later I messaged a grab-driver-slash-money-boy, who asked for 2000 then quickly agreed to 1000 when I mentioned that "my local friends" only pay 1000.

Min got a reaction from 1moRussian in Min's tidbits about my Thailand and Vietnam experiences
    (part 10)
As mentioned in part 9, a Thai boy who's working in X-boy asked me to take him to another bar to watch a show (X-boy itself has no longer offered any shows post-Covid). Since I like the boy and wanted to do something nice for him on my last day in Pattaya, I told him to go to Jomtien complex that night at 9pm and we would go watching a show together. I'd buy him drinks, pay his bar fine of 500, and also a short time fee of 1500.
Then around 8pm, he messaged me with a reschedule request, saying something about having "other business". Looks like the dramatic "I was born to never watch a show" (his words via some awkward Google translation) wasn't that important. His last-minute cancellation means I scrambled to find a replacement.
Then the next night, when I was in Bangkok already, he messaged me again, whining that he had no customer at all that night, not even a boy drink so he's broke. Turns out, on previous night, a customer to the bar bought him a drink so he cancelled me in hope of getting another off then going with me the next day. Too bad the customer didn't off him eventually and I wasn't available the day after either - a typical case of he who tries to have it all ends up with nothing.
On my way back to Bangkok, the first thing I do was to contact Boy No 26 from Dream Boy (mentioned in part 8 ) for a repeat. Guess what, he was on his way to Pattaya. It was his birthday so his boyfriend took him to Pattaya to celebrate. Wait, his boyfriend???
Turns out the one I thought was his ex back in Chiang Mai is still with him.
"So your boyfriend doesn't mind that you are working in Dream Boy?"
"No, he's also working at the same bar."
"His number was 24 right?" I jumped to a conclusion, remembering very well he picked boy No 24 when I asked him to choose a boy from the rotation.
    "No, No 99."
"Aha! Then why you picked No 24 last time?"
"Because my boyfriend didn't come to work that night."
"So if I off both you and your boyfriend at the same time, would you mind?" I asked, again just testing how far they would go (he already showed me pictures of his boyfriend, not my type at all). His answer actually surprised me a little.
"I don't like three people, but it's okay if the third person is my boyfriend" Well, well, well, it looks like if that night I actually offed No 24, No 26 wouldn't go with it. Also that's how you sell your boyfriend as an add-on
Apart from Boy No 26 going where I just left, another unfortunate coincidence was that the Tiny Lao (mentioned in part 7) has gone home for about a month to be with his family and also renew his passport. The Hotmale downstairs didn't feel the same without him. I kinda miss his warm hug and gentle touch.
This time in Bangkok, I finally paid a visit to Moonlight, the only go-go bar I haven't tried so far on this month-long trip. There were about 10 floor guys, most of whom are neither here nor there (not twink but not hunk either). I just read Numazu's latest report and am very curious about his MonBoy (the same way I'm about Vinapu's K - the nice single dad in Tawan), but can't recall anyone that impressive the night I visited.
Then the pre-show model parade. At least three of them, Tum, Babe and Korn (and probably Smarch also) looked like they had their nose redone.
Babe looked tired with under-eye circles clearly visible despite heavy makeup. His smiles were still very sweet though.
Tum and York appeared to be following in Nicky's footsteps with flabbier arms and fat rippling around the belly area. I guess they are pushing 40 and at that age, working out alone would not suffice anymore. You need to watch what you eat and drink, and also the quality of your sleep, to minimize fat deposit.
Korn was the only model who showed any form of 6 packs that night. Personally, I found the guys in Jupiter more "model-like" than those in Moonlight. Well-toned, flat stomach, lean but ripped body, nice height/size ratio.

And for perspective, below is Jupiter's poster boy, who is over 30 but still can keep that Ms. Universe-like waistline to go with his well-developed chest and arms. (in real life, his waist looks even smaller and arms more muscular)

There wasn't much going on in the tip department although the house was half-packed with mostly Asian customers.
Before, it often looked like someone got tipped every few minutes or so in that bar, which made me think they probably used fake tips to get the ball rolling, especially when it comes to 1000-Baht garlands.

Like if Day 1, models A and B get a garland, then Day 2, models C and D would get it, and so forth. Sometimes, model A gets 2 garlands on Day 1, or he gets another on Day 2. So my guess is that: the first one on Day 1 was staged by the bar. Any extra one on the same day or those on other days were actually from customers.
What I saw this time seems to confirm my theory: very early in the parade one model got a garland (can't remember it was Nut or Smarch), presented by a Mamasan, who pointed vaguely at someone (could be anyone) in the audience. The same Mamasan then walked around the house, waving a bunch of garlands but there were no takers. So no one else got that 1000B tip, and throughout the show, only two or three models got tipped 100B with a nip of whisky.
Finally, to answer @AlexThompson's question about Bangkok pre- vs. post-Covid, I would say cheaper accommodation, fewer tourists, more discounts at brand name shops, much less traffic at least at night (very easy to cross Suwarong road in the evening these days), more willing boys on apps (I met a few university graduates who haven't been able to find a job and who said they never thought they would sell themselves on app before Covid) - which I like. On the other hand, fewer gay bars, fewer options for traveling to Pattaya, and fewer street food stalls - which I don't like.
One thing I certainly have problems with is the increasing number of straight MBs, who appear to use "being man" as an excuse for doing next to nothing in bed. I understand if they are unwilling about being f*ck, but no sucking and no kissing? in this kind of profession and for that kind of money? Some don't even perform the top role because they say they can't get hard for another man. Basically those would just lie there, being serviced and then getting paid handomely for "being a man"!
Before Covid, I had heard about and also met many willing straight boys from Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, who could do everything. Vietnamese boys were notorious exceptions. Now, it doesn't seem the case anymore, at least in those Bangkok and Pattaya go-go and host bars I visited. It looks like those straight boys, regardless of nationality, just copied each other by asking for more while doing less.
Speaking of which, most Viet boys working in gay bars in Bangkok are straight and came from rural areas in central Vietnam (read: conservative and narrow-minded). So even when they are "reduced to" selling sex to men to earn a living, they still want to keep the illusion of "being a man with dignity and all" (I'm talking about this from the perspective of a Vietnamese).
There is also peer pressure. Since they all got into this line of work through friends and acquaintances, they kinda know each other, forming a fairly close-knitted community with well-kept secrets (of course nobody in the village back home know what they are actually doing in Thailand). And in that small community, no one wants others to know that he can be anally f*cked by men.
I've seen this in Vietnam too, many times. Some boys let me top them for more money, but made me promise I don't tell their MB peers about that.
So if you really like a cute but unwilling boy, just try to get him into bed first. Then with patience, temptation of extra tip and the psychological power of situation, we and he himself would never know what he's capable of doing. Like that time a boy moved to French kiss me when he was about to cum, his first man-to-man kiss ever, as he later admitted, blushingly , and that he didn't think it could be so hot.
Outside go-go bars, there are now quite a few Viet boys who work freelance on the app in Bangkok. They are mostly gay, from the south (read: more open- and business-minded), taking good care of their appearance, willing to do many things in bed sometimes for less (they still earn more than what they normally make at home though). I frequently ran into some of those southern boys in Silom road (their favorite spot is the the bus stop located between Patpong 1 and Silom Soi 6), who openly solicited in the street with "massage offers".
Several Viet go-go boys when they learned that I'm from the north mentioned a boy from Hanoi who worked in Jupiter before Covid. That was the one who could do everything in bed, they told me. He went to gym, even got a facelift, and became very popular. After just a few years working in Bangkok, he already saved enough to buy a house back home. That's no small feat considering a small house in Hanoi could easily set you back more than a hundred thousand US dollars.
So "Why don't you guys try to be like him?" I asked those boys, who were good-looking but admitted they have been able to save little or not at all from their work. Try to be more accommodating and get more customers, make a decent sum and then get the hell out of this line of work, go home open your own business and settle down (the last parts remain a life-long dream for many rural guys in Vietnam).
But it looks like my advice always fell on deaf ears. Like that very cute Viet twink used to work in Lucky Boys I mentioned in a previous post. He got called from the stage by three different groups of customer, both Asians and farangs, in the span of a couple of hours I was there (and it wasn't even a busy night) but still no offs because later he told me, they all wanted him to bottom for them. He could have lost probably at least 300 potential customers per year (not to mention possible repeats) which translates into no less than 600K. Still, he couldn't care less about my math.
While I was typing this part in the airport, Boy No 26 messaged me saying he just arrived in Bangkok. Are we star-crossed lovers or something? I jokingly asked if he's willing to do it in the airport. He replied with "555", so I said goodbye, hoping we'll have a chance to meet next time. Also told him if I ever see his boyfriend in Dream Boy, I'll tell the boyfriend he picked No 24 the last time. And with that little warning, I left Bangkok.

Min got a reaction from 1moRussian in Min's tidbits about my Thailand and Vietnam experiences
    (part 8 )
Back in Hanoi, I encountered a similar problem with a newly opened gay massage parlor a few years ago. The owner also applied a rotation system to make sure his masseurs all have customers, so he told me I was not allowed to pick. When I turned around to leave, he immediately gave in "ok, you can choose."
So I marched into the M star shop around 8h30 pm (not sure if it's peak time though), trying to look aggressive (and failing completely). I prefaced my request with "My friend said that you guys don't allow customers to choose masseur, but..."
The masseur standing at the door cut in before I finished my sentence "You can, you can". Just like that. I had expected a fight!
So @flashbarryallen just be assertive if you need to.
Guy at the door also told me the minimum tip for normal no-sex massage is 100. Any extra services, I should discuss with the guy once we are in the room.
So I picked my boyish masseur, who's 27, paid 500B for 1-hour aroma oil massage and proceeded to the fourth floor for my session. Once inside the room, I started price discussion right away, as I usually do, to make sure no problems or misunderstanding at the end.
Unfortunately, the kid's English was extremely limited so after a while, mostly with help of Google translation, I figured that minimum tip for no-sex massage is 200 (not consistent with what Guy at the door told me). If I want him to take off his clothes while providing the service so I can touch, that would be 1000. If I want to suck his dick, that would be 1500. He's man, so he wouldn't do anything else.
1500? I repeated and just looked at him. He quickly lowered his asking price 1300 ok? I do saloh saloh massage ok?
What the hell does "saloh saloh" mean?
I asked him in a more polite language. He tried to explain in vain, then kept saying sorry for his limited English.
Looking the kid's very agitated face (he was obviously uncomfortable with haggling), I kinda felt bad so I didn't bother with further negotiation. If it means that much to him.
The massage turned out to be much better than I expected. Kid had good techniques, his touch was quite sensual and one hour flied by quickly. The only thing that irked me a bit is that he kept saying "saloh saloh" during the whole session and I still couldn't figure out what he meant.
Anyway, satisfied, I gave Kid 1500 and he bent over so low (almost to a kneeling position) to thank me, like I were Royalty or something. If only he bent over like that during the session I might have doubled my tip.
When I walked down the stairs to the ground floor, he led the way and again kept saying "saloh saloh" and I finally got it. He meant "slow, slow," (take your time).
The next day, I started my evening in Banana Room outside. Bought a drink for one host who spoke decent English (again, he used to have an American boyfriend for about a year so no surprises here) and got some intel.
Banana Room actually has three bars. Downstairs, the outside bar serves as a beer bar (my soft drink 80B, in line with other bars in the soi), the inside bar - as a go-go (when I moved inside I had to buy a new drink at 350B). The bars downstairs close at midnight, at which they start the upstairs one that stays open until 4 am. Host showed me videos of the upstairs bar. It was pretty roomy and packed with customers, DJ station-level packed. Looks like this is the cash cow for Banana Room (owner is straight Thai with a wife) as I didn't much activities in both bars downstairs during my last two visits.
So outside downstairs, they currently have 4 hosts (3 from Laos and 1 from Myanmar, 3 gays and 1 straight). Unfortunately the cutest one, a Laotian, that I would off is straight. He had a girlfriend and wasn't allowed (by his girlfriend?) to go with customers, Host told me.
But in my previous visit, I saw that boy in underwear standing on the stage inside as a go-go boy. Sometimes, when there were too few boys inside, boss would ask him to double as a go-go so the stage would look less empty. Host explained. So does he go with customers when he's inside? Nobody knows. Or, probably, everyone knows but his girlfriend doesn't.
Inside downstairs, they have around 10 go-go staff. Host admitted that they didn't have the strongest cast in the soi and some boys never had any customers since they worked there. Then why they kept coming back? Because boss paid each 200 per night just for showing up.
Host said he himself gets paid 8000 per month and for that salary, he starts his work at 3 pm, serving in the outside downstairs bar until mid night, then moving upstairs to continue working as bartender until 4am. That means 14 hours a day for 8000 a month. It doesn't seem fair even though he can stay for free in the bar.
He said he went to bed at 6am and when he wakes up, it's time to start his work again. That grueling schedule also means he can go with customers on his off days only. He also earned tips from the bartender gig, but usually just around 100-120B per night. That was enough to cover his food expenses.
This trip, I finally come to terms with the fact that it's much harder for me to find cute twinks who can bottom in Bangkok bars than in Pattaya. I think some members in this board also draw the same conclusions (app is a different story though).
Most boys of my type in Bangkok go-gos turned out straight. Out of two dozen boys currently in Fresh Boys, only 5, according to a mamasan, who rattled off their numbers and I duly took note (No 1, 8, 14, 24 and 29) are gay and can do anything. But I like number 26 and 28, both of whom aren't willing to do much. Not even kissing or sucking, which wouldn't do for a top like me.
My last day in Bangkok before returning to Pattaya, where I usually stay for much longer, I decided to revisit Dream Boy. Mamasan, who helped me with offing a boy last time (no 75, very cute, but straight and dud in bed) and got tipped accordingly, was very happy to see me. "We have some new boys you can have a look". Another mamasan, who had seen me on and off the soil for the whole last month, said "You never go home?" Actually I did but I came back.
So I sat down, and Mamasan pointed out the new ones (they currently have between 30 and 40 boys, the most of any Bangkok go-gos, I guess). No 26 immediately caught my eyes. I also like No 45. I asked mamasan what No 26 is willing to do. He wasn't sure so he scampered off to ask, then came back with a big smile: he's gay and can do anything.
I asked for Boy to sit with me. 22, fresh from Chiang Mai, just been here for a week. 3 customers so far, not bad for one week (then he added: including you - good, he already counted me as a customer). He also advertised on Hornet but no catch yet. I asked to see his Hornet's pictures and I think I can see why: the camera must hate the kid. In fact, I saw his pictures a couple of times before but didn't think much of it. Even his body looks worse in those. In person, he got my attention right off the bat with that toned body, boyish face and that little shy smile.
I told him: you should change your pictures. Take a picture with smiles. You have a nice smile, show it so customers would find you more attractive (gosh I sound like a pimp).
I later checked his Hornet again, kid did change his pictures but still no smiling ones.
Since he's gay and versatile (he told me he and his ex-bf back in Chiang Mai took turns to top each other), I asked him which boys currently on stage he would pick. If he also picks No 45, I don't know what I would do (maybe the obvious - as my professor in orgy-ology @vinapu would say). But he picked no 24. Damned, so no threesome this time (my other professor in modesty @reader would feel so relieved).
So like the Phnom Peng trip (reported in parts 5 to 7), my Bangkok trip also ended in a decent note. It looks like I finally had some luck with offing boys from bar. I would rank it my third best on this trip. The other two were from the apps.
My second best is an 19 years old boy from Isan, in Bangkok to study (he told me). He used to work part-time in a restaurant, lost his job due to Covid, never worked in a boy bar before. We chatted on Grindr, he seems nice and very accommodating, answering all the questions without attitude. Asked for 2000 then agreed with 1500. So I told him to come to my hotel. I didn't know that at that point jason1975 was doing more or less the same thing, in the same hotel (just different floor). I got lazy so I copied his narration
Anyway, I could tell that the boy was really into me. He was all over me the moment I closed the door. He kept giggling and holding my face with both hands, saying "you are nice". After sex, we cuddled a little and a couple of times I tried to get up (it was time for me to hit the gym), he held me back for a few more minutes. When I gave him the money (the agreed amount + 200B for travel), he said in his broken English: "I like you but not as customer" hehe, so we are like brothers with benefits now?
My best is a boy, also from Chiang Mai, who stopped in Bangkok just for one night on his way home. He stayed in Quarter in Soil 6 a few hundreds meters from my own hotel, so we kinda "ran into" each other on Hornet. He only asked for 1000 so there was no haggling. Since he's so close, I asked to meet him in person and he, not just met, but took me directly to his room. I didn't expect this, nor did I expect the sex would be so... inspiring in a so tiny room It all happened less than 30 min from the point we started chatting.
I asked him when he would leave Bangkok, thinking for an immediate repeat the next day (I rarely do this) but he said he will fly out early the next morning. Since he said the Quarter room cost him 1500, I gave him all the pocket money I had on me at that point (1800B). I walked from my hotel to his in my shorts, sleeveless T-shirt, slippers, bringing no wallet, condoms or lubes, thinking I would just see if he really looks like his picture

Min got a reaction from dscrtsldnbi in Min's tidbits about my Thailand and Vietnam experiences
    (part 5)
After 2 days, I move to A&P (Arthur & Paul) - the gay-only hotel in Phnom Peng (I have always wanted to experience such a place).

It's pricy, double the price I paid for my centrally located 4 star hotel, and also a bit far from the city center. However, moving to this hotel put me in walking distance of 15 minutes or less to a number of well-known gay sauna & massages, including Dai Khmer (st 420), Ganesh House Massage (also on st 420), Hatha Khmer Massage and Love Spa (reported in part 4), to name a few, not to mention the most famous A&P, the in-house sauna of the hotel to which its guests have free access (Guide actually wanted to take me to A&P during my first tour but I told him I'm gonna stay there anyway).

My tip: visitors to Phnom Peng should try to stay in two different locations (one near the Royal Palace, and the other near A&P). A&P itself is expensive, but I saw quite a number of decent hotels, probably cheaper, nearby when I walked around the neighborhood. That means you can stay in a cheaper place and then buy an all-day multi-entry pass to A&P for a few more bucks to use their very good facilities, including dry & wet saunas, swimming pool, big jacuzzi, and also cute and smiling staff in their underwear (it's clothing optional, mind you).

It's like when you visit Ho Chi Minh city, you should stay first in District 1 (the actual city center, especially Bui Vien area which we call phố tây - street for foreigners) and later move to District 10, Sub-district 12 (the de factor gay service center with a lot of gay massage parlors and saunas).
Back to Phnom Peng, I walked to Ganesh House Massage last night because it's very near just to have some ideas. It has the same setup as Hatha Khmer Massage: curtains, boys in underwear (white this time) but fewer boys (8 on display at 10h30pm, open till midnight). As with the case of Heco, the receptionist's English is extremely poor and Guide wasn't with me, so after a few questions trying to find more info but to no avail, I gave up and walked back. Took some pictures though.

I contacted Dai Khmer (on the same street as Ganesh) on Grindr and they send me pictures of the available 5 masseurs.

I like the one in red shirt. A taste check: @vinapu and @jason1975 which ones do you like? Jason, I think you could really use a week-end trip from Singapore to sample gay life and boys in Phnom Peng.
About finding boys on app, I only had one hook-up in the first two days so don't have much to say about it. However, it looks to me that while both Blued and Grindr have a lot of local boys, Grindr appears to have a higher rate of MBs. In Thailand, I found that Hornet works better for Pattaya, Grindr for Bangkok and Blued is pretty decent for both. Vietnam is similar to Cambodia (Blued and Grindr), but you may want to install one more app - Zalo (as popular as Line in Thailand). Usually, app boys are gonna give you their Zalo contact.
Another tip: if you are in Vietnam and try to find boys on app, beware of so-called online pimps, who also advertise their service on Blued, Grindr and Zalo.
Many of those online pimps just scout the apps, looking for any boys who advertise themselves as MB (in Vietnam, we usually use the term call boy or cb instead), then create their own list of "models". As a result, the same boy may appear in multiple lists advertised by different pimps. In many cases, the pimps know next to nothing about their boys and can't answer your questions about the boy's sexual orientation, whether he looks like his pictures, what he would or would not do in bed, etc.
Worse still, they also jack up the price quite a bit (for example, if you deal directly with the boy, he may ask for somewhere between 500K and 1 mil VND short time, about 700-1500B or 22-45 USD. Through a pimp, that would become 1-1.5 mil VND (and if they know that you are foreigners, they may quote the price in USD for even more money, so feel free to haggle). The more a pimp can charge you, the more commission he gets (30% of what the boy gets from you). Different pimps may quote you different prices for the same boy.
I don't mind paying the pimps their cut if they actually do a their job of giving us some helpful intel about boys. But they more often than not don't. So I follow some pimps on Zalo to see pictures of the boys and then just do the opposite: scout the apps for familiar faces You also need to know where to put your location while searching. In Hanoi, for example, search the old quarter or Hoan Kiem lake. Ho Chi Minh city (see relevant locations a few lines above).
One MB, who's currently working in Bi sauna in District 10 in Ho Chi Minh City, told me this intriguing story. He got a customer (a Vietnamese overseas) through a pimp and travelled all the way to meet the customer in his centrally-located hotel. The agreed price is 1.2 mil (which means the pimp's cut is 400K). However, the customer, for whatever reasons, changed his mind and didn't want sex. He offered the boy 500K for "meeting and chatting".
FYI: I can confirm that the boy in question does look like his pictures, very cute in person as well, and can also do massage quite professionally. I used his service and was happy.
Boy told me he had to give the pimp his cut of 400K no matter what (he also complained that pimps don't care if the deal didn't go through, they don't care if boys get in trouble with rogue customers, would not protect the boys because they themselves also know nothing about customers), and the remaining 100K wasn't even enough to cover his two-way taxi fare. So he insisted the customer pay the agreed amount because a deal is a deal. When the customer refused, you know what the boy did?
Right there in the middle of the hotel lobby, he (kinda small-built) jumped on the guy (tall and big) and screamed in Vietnamese. I need a moment think how I should translate this into English...
"Everyone, this jerk's trying to stiff a whore! This jerk's trying to stiff a whore!" (that's how we make a scene in Vietnam).
You probably know the ending right? The customer paid up and the boy left, but damages already done.
