Olddaddy got a reaction from unicorn in Is Thailand recognised marriage?
Thankyou but it seems Thailand this year hopefully will legalise same sex marriage!

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking where Thai same-sex partners can marry nearest to Thailand. While legal in most of the Western Hemisphere, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand, there is so far only one country in Asia (Taiwan) and one country in Africa (South Africa) which allow same-sex marriage. You can find more information on Wikipedia. My understanding is that in Asia, Japan and Cambodia are the most likely to legalize same-sex marriage next.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_marriage
Countries in dark blue have full same-sex marriage on an equivalent basis to gender-divergent marriage:
Among those countries which do not require visas for Thai citizens (in green), it looks as though the main choices are Taiwan, South Africa, or various South American countries. If a Thai person were to marry a citizen of one of the dark blue countries above, in most cases he'd be allowed to live there permanently, and eventually become a citizen if he stayed clean of the law.
If a Thai person were to marry a citizen of the US, EU, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, he would carry two passports which would be very powerful indeed, since he could visit almost every country without a visa, with the exception of some truly weird ones one would never want to visit anyway, such as Venezuela, Algeria, Libya, Yemen, Afghanistan, and the Central African Empire (I mean Republic 😉).

Olddaddy reacted to Londoner in Nice Boys
Admittedly it was long ago, but I must admit that a customer sitting with a guy near me calling a waiter for a tissue, was perhaps one orgasm too far (or perhaps too close) for me.
Another memory even more ancient, was of overt oral sex performed, again not far from me. I reflected that the toilets may have been a better venue, though I must admit that in those far-off days the toilets in many bars were, well.....I wouldn't have invited my mother to use them.

I have been told that NB isn't a typical go go bar, in that the guys tend to earn their money from tips within the bar rather than through offs. Hence the games.
Not my cup of tea (it never was) but it has managed to provide entertainment for decades to a loyal fan-base....so it must be doing something right.

Olddaddy got a reaction from Ruthrieston in No idea if it's true
“My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks.
As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us that "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super."
On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed a well-dressed rather Arabic-looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."
She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one."
To which, without missing a beat the flight attendant replied, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up, Bitch." Judy Rofe

Very true , I can see both sides
Interestingly I see the police are now opening up the investigations of the gay men deaths back in the 1980's in Sydney,I noticed a Thai man was also a victim.
Sad to say they are investigating ex police in Sydney for being responsible

The Police are free to organise and march in their own parade. They have no right to insist on marching in someone elses event. That's literally the opposite of freedom.
The organisers of Pride are free to choose which organisations are or are not invited to join in their event.
Given the police were the front line in persecuting gay men in many "free countries", that this persecution is still well within living memory, that even since legalization their institutional homophobia has resulted in crimes not being properly investigated, its easy to see why there is a complicated relationship between the police and the LGBTQ+ community.

It's a free country so the police should be able to march if they want to.
It's ironic that a group of people who have been discriminated against over the years now see fit to discriminate against the police.

Olddaddy got a reaction from vinapu in Sydney Gay Mardi gras
Sydney is busy from all around the World for the annual Gay Mardi gras.🏳️🌈
Thousands going to Sydney this week.
Unfortunately a young gay Police Officer in Sydneys Gay area has been charged with shooting his ex boyfriend and partner last week whilst on duty and refuses to say where he hid the bodies😂
so there is some controversy whether police should be marching in this year's event

Olddaddy reacted to macaroni21 in Moving to Pattaya, looking for translator
I'm kinda shocked too 😲 I thought us temporary tourists are automatons, rushing from one rentboy to another. Some of us (wink wink, we know who) have inhuman levels of energy, hitting up to four boys a day.

Can’t the expat forum fact check or be logical? The article indicates that a crackdown on LGTBQ+ rights has “complicated” the plan. Why would that defenestrate the Feenstras since the ideologies don’t mismatch? What actually transpired in the toilet misunderstandings?

Olddaddy reacted to JD100 in Moving to Pattaya, looking for translator
Hello, I am John Davis (called JD), a U.S. citizen planning to retire in Thailand, but currently live in Argentina. However, all set up to move initially to Pattaya, arriving in mid-March 2024.
Outgoing and inquisitive type, energetic, regular user of gym, sauna, and I also practice Meditation and Yoga. Really enjoy Music, Theater, Hiking/Walking, Travel - maybe bowling and/or golf again.
Interested to meet men with some similar interests - for long-term friendships (no tourists or temporary residents please). Any race, nationality, age, etc., but English-fluent please.
Pattaya seems to be a beautiful place, and a ideal location for me to meet and develop contacts with fellow English speakers, both expats and Thai locals.
BTW - I am searching for a native English-fluent Translator, also very adept at technology. Of course I would pay a fair hourly rate for their assistance. Any information you could provide would be most appreciated!
