Water Festival 2024 Songkran is a term derived from the Sanskrit word, saṅkrānti (or, more specifically, meṣa saṅkrānti) and used to refer to the traditional New Year for Buddhist calendar. Thai New Year or Songkran is the Thai New Year's national holiday. Songkran is on 13 April every year, but the holiday period extends from 14 to 15 April. It takes place from the 13th – 15th April (the hottest time of the year) throughout the country, but Chiang Mai spreads this out for up to 5 days, making it one of the best places to celebrate the world’s biggest water fight. Especially at this time of year it's not that easy, it's hot and the air isn't good to breathe, everyone is longing for rain so that it can cool down a bit and the air will be better again. We all hope and wish for rain. But until then, stay brave and don't give up hope. Many people are longing for a cool place where the air is healthy to breathe. This year Holi 2024, the festival of colors falls on March 25, 2024. Millions of Indians are celebrating Holi - the festival of colors - at home and around the world. Holi will be celebrated on March 25 with colours, gulal etc at the crack of dawn. On this day, people lovingly smear colour on the faces of their friends and family members. At home, delicacies like gujiya, malpua, puranpoli and the refreshing thandai is prepared. The festival which marks the last full-moon day of the lunar month celebrates the beginning of spring and the victory of good over evil. Holi also known as the Festival of Colors, Festival of Spring, and Festival of Love, is one of the most popular and significant festivals in Hinduism. It celebrates the eternal and divine love of the god Radha and Krishna. People celebrate this day by smearing bright colors on friends and family, offering prayers and burning a bonfire to symbolically destroy the bad so that the good can triumph. Holi celebrates the arrival of Spring in India, the end of winter, and the blossoming of love, and for many, it is a festive day to meet others, play and laugh, forget and forgive, and repair broken relationships. In a lot of countries, it is very common to have an advent wreath with 4 candles, every advent Sunday one candle more will be lighted so that on Advent 4th all 4 candles are burning and its bright, a symbol for Jesus as the light is coming to us on Christmas.
