  1. I also ran into the Surawong taxi issues this week. The guys at Hot Male told me you have to walk over Silom. Can still take some time but they show up. Part of the problem is Surawong is blocked off at Thaniya. You can’t drive out to Rama 4 so taxis avoiding the area.
  2. I stayed at the Le Meridien Tuesday night for Test and Go. Had the breakfast buffet in the morning. Outstanding. I’ll make a repeat visit before trip over.
  3. The 1700 is just the add on price for the fast track. Package starts at 6300 without fast track.
  4. I’m staying at the Le Meridian in January. They told me 10-12 hours for results without fast track. With fast package (1700 baht) they say 6 hours. I’m not arriving till midnight so 12 hours is perfect.
  5. A couple of hotels I have contacted have said you will be confined to room until test results come back. Of course everything is. Subject to Change.
  6. You will leave airport in hotel sponsored vehicular and you must remain in room till you get tests results.
  7. #3. According to Thai Embassy in Washington, E Visa is now available.

Posted today they will reopen October 1 at noon.
  9. I retired to Ft.Lauderdale from San Francisco when the market couldn’t give houses away. I’m happy here. my biggest issue is the car insurance rates. Thru the roof. Most of the people that complain about the heat in summer complain about the cold up north in the winter. It’s only mid 80’s here today. 90’s up north . My pool and ac take care of the heat. Prepare for few guest in summer and overcrowding in winter. American Airlines controls MIA. Easy to fly to South and Central America. You will find fares higher than you expected as this is a hub.
  10. This time around you will not be allowed out of your room the entire stay. Also no staff will be allowed in room. Your fresh bedding and towels will be left outside your door and you get to clean your own room. Also a 3rd Covid test.
  11. I’m free now. I’m vaccinated. My city is open for business. I’m just sitting here waiting for he rest of the world to open.
  12. Doesn’t work for me. In April I’ll be 3 months out already. What’s the sense of getting vaccinated and testing negative then having to quarantine. I’m over it. Brazil is starting to look good.
  13. I’m in Ft.Lauderdale. Close to normal here now. Everything open. We have 3 strip clubs that are full on weekends. This month is spring break for colleges and beaches are packed. Aps are working . Tourism has been down for past year but is starting to pick up now . I got both my shots in January so did a couple of trips. All flights full .
  14. I’ve had a couple of tests at an urgent care center in ft.Lauderdale . I got results back within 24 hours.
  15. I got both my shots in Ft.Lauderdale. I had no side affects from either shot.
  16. I’ve had both of my vaccine shots. I’ll be ready to arrive the first day after they drop quarantine requirements.

    Cutey & Beauty

They moved to the new location the last week in March. The day Thailand closed down for COVID. The new location is upstairs next to Hot Male. They spent a month renovating space. It looked nice. But then COVID. I’m sure it’s been a difficult few months.
  18. I’m one that likes it cool. I keep my ac set at 22. When I invite company over I do comprise a bit with temperature.
  19. Thanks Michael. I know who you are talking about. He was working at Nakarat till Bangkok Massage reopened.
  20. I live in Ft.Lauderdale so it’s summer year round. We have 3 strip clubs that have finally reopened. Though no back room fun. Not supposed to be much physical contact between customers and dancers. They do allow lots of tip money to exchange hands. Many of the guys will make private arrangements with you, but an hour here can cost what a weekend in Thailand costs. South Florida is just about fully open. Tourist are starting to fill the hotels again . As with Thailand, winter is high season here. I’m usually in Bangkok for winter months so this will be my first time home for several years.

    Sandals

I have the Ecco like in your picture. They are expensive but for me, worth every penny. I’ve had mine for about 12 years. Living in South Florida I were them almost every day. I’ve worn them in many rain storms in Bangkok and Florida. I keep waiting for them to fall apart, but no signs of that happening. They can be had for $100 to $125 US.
  22. Peter mentioned above he got email from Qatar. I got the same saying we are now flying to Bangkok. I think this announcement from the Dubai Thai Consolate will effectively shut down the wishful thinking of the Middle East 3 airlines.
  23. TotallyOz the new Apple store is opening in CentralWorld this week. You can go test drive it.
  24. As of now there still arent any scheduled commercial international flights. I left Bangkok April 1st as everything was closing down. I’d love to get back as soon as possible, but can’t find any info that lets me believe it will be before the first of the year. I was talking to the lady I rent My condo from over the weekend. She told me not to plan anything before January 1 and having a US passport could make the delays longer unless the virus rate comes down in the US.
  25. My main reasons for living here is it’s really cheap and I don’t have to shovel snow. With retirement I spend less than half the year here. But have to have somewhere to call home. Covid has thrown a wrench into most of our travel plans so now it’s just sit and wait.
