  1. I am right now at DCA waiting for my flight to Houston. In the last three days I received about six emails warning me that my flight was full and I may want to reschedule. This is the view 2 hours before boarding time. IMG_0030.MOV
  2. Hello Guys, New guy here. I started galavanting in Latin America in 2016 and I wish I knew about this forum beforehand. I love reading your sexcapades, tips, and experiences. I hope that I'd be able to return the favor by sharing my experiences in the future.
  3. I've always had a great time in my previous six visits to Rio (2011 through 2019). I have read news articles and heard from carioca amigos that the water quality is awful just now in Rio. There's some kind of water filtration plant problem causing the tap water to be cloudy, smelly and foul-tasting. I've read that some don't consider it great for bathing, even. Does anyone have first hand experience since this water sanitation problem began there? Is is safe for you douche with that water? I really hope they get this back to what passes for normal water filtration there soon. It's bad enough having to figure the coronavirus Covid-19 into plans... From one article online: https://www.foxnews.com/world/carnival-rio-tourists-contaminated-water Sexy costumes, bands, festivities, wild parades - and murky water. As the official Carnival celebrations kick off in the Brazilian city of Rio Saturday, potable water has become a valuable commodity, especially in the peak of summer when temperatures hit 120 degrees F. Since the beginning of January, sinks and showers have provided only cloudy water that smells like clay. The problem has not been resolved and with the arrival of 10 million tourists next week, the situation likely will get worse. Rio’s public water company, called CEDAE (State Company of water and sewage) apologized for what happened and blamed the supposedly inoffensive and safe organic compound "geosmin." It multiplies in nutrient-rich aquatic environments, such as springs that receive untreated sewage, but is atoxic. Some disagree. “If the water is not odorless, colorless and tasteless is not safe,” said biologist Ana Passos. On Feb. 3, the crisis hit a new low, and the whole treatment center of Guandu was closed due to the presence of a detergent in massive quantities. It's not clear where the compound came from, but specialists said the source is probably industries outside Rio and blamed heavy rain.
  4. As reported in a prior post in this Forum, after having come within an inch of death, a generous benefactor took over The Rio Times earlier this month. The new owner of the online site, Matthias Camenzind, promised to provide more reporting within Rio de Janeiro and to expand coverage to other cities in Brazil. I was dubious that he would follow through but already there is a significant change in the online newspaper's content. Just in the past two weeks alone, I have noted many more stories about life in Rio de Janeiro, including politics, travel, crime, the economy, shopping, dining, and other subjects of interest to guys on this Forum who travel there. As an example, The Rio Times did cover the story this week, addressed in another post on this Forum, about President Jair Bolsonaro not wanting Brazil to become a "gay tourist paradise". Importantly, new owner Camenzind has, as he promised, expanded coverage to other parts of Brazil, in particular to São Paulo. Whereas the nightlife entertainment column in the past dealt solely with things to do in Rio, the Rio Times each day now includes a nightlife suggestion column for São Paulo. Although one commentator in the previous BoyToy Latin American thread suggested that we all should study Portuguese and read the articles published in online Brazilian news sources, it's not really practical to expect everyone to get a good reading command of Portuguese. Even if you do read Portuguese (and I do), sometimes nuances in meaning aren't readily appreciated. The Rio TImes does a good job of publishing online stories that are clear to understand. I urge everyone with an interest in Brazil to subscribe with the hope that The Rio Times may continue with our support along its current, much improved journalistic path. 5. Maybe it had something to do with the devastating tropical wind-and-rainstorm that battered Rio de Janeiro last week, but the American Embassy / U.S. State Department decided to issue a weather alert today for Wednesday, 13 February 2019. It seems that the State Department is getting more aggressive with its alerts, a good thing in my opinion, as one of the functions of a diplomatic mission is to safeguard the interests of its citizens living in or visiting a foreign country.
  6. I have seen varying recommendations for the best time to head to the saunas. When I am visiting Rio, I typically spend the day on the beach, have a light dinner, then head to the saunas, maybe arriving around 6 or 7 pm. There are often many guys there working at that time, and some of them head out after scoring with a single client., but others will hang around all night and try to hook up with 5 or 6 or more clients. I'm curious what the recommendations of other users are. My experience has shown that there are many factors to consider. One is your own energy level, especially considering your alcohol intake. I enjoy drinking on the beach, and I usually imbibe when I am at the saunas, so (for me, at least) that's a factor. Another is the availability of the guys, and their individual situations: many of them will hang out all night, looking to score multiple times, while others will score once and head home. Several times I have arrived, only to see very hot guys heading out the door. Yet another wrinkle is cumming. I have had guys tell me that they can't afford to cum yet, because they want to hang around for several more hours and make more money, so they want a bump in pay if you want them to shoot earlier in the evening (and, correspondingly, I have found that guys are more willing to cum later in the evening, when they figure they can make me their last client, and head home after. This discussion is, of course, very circumstantial. Bottom/top/straight/gay/single/married...all of this has the potential to affect their mood and their availability. I'm simply curious about the recommendations/experiences of other veterans as to the best time to arrive at the saunas. I sometimes think maybe I arrive too late.
