Bangkok report April 2018

Recommended Posts

When HIV arrived in Japan I was also told it was the foreigners who brought it with them. Lots of gay saunas and clubs then banned them.

Well, it has some truth behind that for sure. It needs to come from someone, at the start of it has to be outsiders, but it could very well come from japanese who goes outside for sex and come back bringing the disease to their country too. Most likely both are true. And a lot of them dont wear condom in the sauna

Omg, learn to read the sarcasm please. He said he was told there is no gays there.... which is obviously not true but people there just dont like to talk about them as if they are invisible

What I mean is that although people not talk about it, but gay events and gay places are very active there especially in the city area, not to mention their successful gay porn industry.

And we all know that..... and to reiterate, he is kidding....

Japanese have always travelled overseas for sex - both males and females - with Taiwan being the most popular destination. They would far outnumber the gay foreigners who visit Japan.

That seems to be true today but I doubt if it was so for Japanese gay travellers in the mid 1980s. With military rule I doubt if there was much of a gay scene in Taiwan then. The Japan sauna association (if such a body actually existed) certainly closed their doors  to foreigners but as other have implied the horse had well and truly bolted before then. Besides, the ban really only meant a notice at the entry. I suspect Japanese saunas then were a bit like those today. The staff at the front desk have difficulty seeing the faces of those entering. I heard they never asked for passports to prove nationality. I know a Singaporean and an overseas Chinese from elsewhere who always got in during the late 80s and early 90s. Yet just a few years ago the popular 24 Shinjuku demanded passports before handing over a locker key. Funny lot the Japanese!

Taiwan is mainly a destination for heterosexual men. Many have a 'nigou-san" or mistress in Taipei, usually a bar girl.

A wealthy Japanese friend of mine had a bar girl there who he supported for years. When I asked his wife how she felt about it she produced a gold credit card.

"I get this as compensation," she said with a smile. Then off she went to Paris for a weekend of shopping with the girls.

Do you think it is normal for the wives in Japan to know?

Yes, because they control the finances and pay all the bills.

I've had friends who are married but went to massage parlours every week. The parlour would send the bill at the end of the month and the wives would pay it.

Their attitude was that as long as they never saw the women involved, it was ok.

The younger generation take a different approach.

I'm back!

I flew into Bangkok from Seoul last night. Immigration was virtually deserted and I got through to the luggage carousels within 5 minutes - the quickest ever.

But there was some problem off-loading the bags and I had to wait 40 minutes before mine appeared.

Normally, I take the train if I arrive on the weekend, as I've been caught in a massive traffic jam in the past. But last night I decided to chance it and was surprised at the total lack of traffic anywhere along the route. Even Suriwong Street was a breeze, and I arrived at my hotel in record time.

So it's the taxi from now on. But I'm wondering if taxi fares have recently gone up because it cost me 450 baht, rather than the usual 300 and something. He used the meter.

After a quick shower it was off to meet my friends at the bar. We couldn't have our usual fun as there was a customer sitting at the bar with a girl. But as soon as they left the doorman went outside to keep a look-out for approaching customers and we had our usual fun.

Just as we'd finished a Japanese guy walked in with his wife and we had a bit of a chat. He's not gay but was simply looking for somewhere to enjoy a late night drink or three. But they seemed to enjoy themselves as they say and chatted with one of the guys.

Many of the boys still haven't returned from Songkran and there was only 4 working. But my two were there, and that's the main thing.

Tonight I might head off to Soi Twilight and see a show, seeing as it's Saturday night.

Although as a person of Chinese descent (my grandparents fled mainland China almost 100 years ago due to the turbulent political situation then), I am at wits end when it comes to deal/handle mainland Chinese.  As the report above said, most of them are SMOKERS.. they have zero concern for those who do not... not just in Bangkok's bar but everywhere.

During my recent Chiangmai trip, they were having lots of SMOKING opportunities at the Tha Phae Gate.  There should be signs declaring SMOKING zone - like Singapore has those yellow boxers/perimeters for smokers.

With regards to BIG COCK CHUCK-WOW, perhaps the size difference is just too evident.  If not, they may be afraid of that shower of SPERMs on them....Anyway, I stay clear of mainland Chinese during my last visit 2 weeks ago.  Call me a snob but I really did not want to be regarded as one of them.

Why the constant bashing of the Chinese ? We all know what/who you like. If you are ashamed of being one, change your color.

Smokers have their rights as well.

They were behaving very badly before, but i do noticed that nowadays they are now more well behaved and pretty much like the rest of other tourists in term of behaviour, no different than anyone from the countryside or rural area behave when they first arrived in a city. On the smoking, i am definitely against them, and wont be sitting anywhere near those who smoke, but if the bar does allow them, i would definitely appreciate if they at least separate smoking and non smoking area. Smokers have their right to poison themselves but they dont have a right to poison others.

I'm an occasional smoker, but only in Thailand because a lot of the boys smoke. It used to be a great way to meet the boys in Hotmail - I'd go to the smoking area on the stairs and have the chance to chat with the boys.

Smokers do have rights. But they don't have the right to blow smoke in someone's face, especially if that person is not a smoker. And passive smoke is a known carcinogen. Also, a lot of customers in bars are non-smokers but leave with their clothes and hair stinking of smoke.

Customers can go outside and smoke.

You don't have to agree with me nor antagonise me.

Sorry I'm proud to be of the Chinese descent and my preference in white meat as zero bearing on the Chinese mainlanders.

I don't despise anyone because of his ethnic group.

It is just the uncouth mainlanders that I dislike.

They are discovering new wealth and new places to travel.

Have a good look at Big C, across Central World on any day and you will know my stand.

Non-smokers have the right to tell you to put off that smoke.

As a matter of fact,  there is a critical  need to zone areas for smokers and non-smokers.

The pollution index in gay bars and gay venues is very high and honestly, would you be one who had contributed to it?

Back to the topic..a477a..excellent reporting..makes me wonder how it is to get that monster in me...

Keep in mind when you say “Twilight is going thru lean times” that it is now low season. Twilight has had a fairly successful winter season. During the Songkran week they were turning people away, The other night someone mentioned FreshBoys seemed quiet. But in fact about 25 boys just before show started and 8 left when 2nd show started. Most of us go by what we see at that moment.

Sometimes you need to see the whole evening picture. Things aren’t always as bad as first impression.

In retrospect, if you have taken the waiter/mamasan advise, number 15 wouldve already seated with u before the show.

That's only true if you believe everything a mamasan tells you. Some will say anything to get a boy to sit with you.

But I imagine he was booked well before I arrived. That's generally the case with the types of guys.

It doesn't bear thinking about! I want to live to tell the tale.

Some cocks are just too big to be of any practical use. In the case of number 15, it's too long to suck properly, too long to chuck-wow - it would be exhausting! - and way too long to fuck. There's no way he could get it in all the way.

But it's good to look at.

I assume he would have gained hero status at high school.
