I am making Barcelona my base, having been many times and being very comfortable with what is available there. On many prior trips to Spain I've met some gorgeous Bulgarian guys in the saunas, in both Barcelona and Madrid. On this trip I'm going to break up my Barcelona visit with a quick, 3 night visit to Sofia, Bulgaria. I've made some initial contacts with a few guys advertising on gayromeo. Considering the very bad economy in Bulgaria i am surprised that i have not heard more about escort activities over there. I have met a few bulgarian guys in Spain and other countries over the last couple of years and they all had the same bodytype: very muscular but lean, aparently Wrestling is their national sport and hence many guys have an extremely athletic built plus are very masculine. This site is also known as gayromeo and is most popular in Europe. Currently 226 escorts in Bulgaria have profiles online there. Once you trawl through the profiles and see what guys appeal to you, you can message them through planetromeo and exchange info and photos. There are no bars or saunas with escorts. Mostly used is planetromeo. I found a nice guy with grindr, but it was just look. It is easier to find a Bulgarian escort in Berlin than in Sofia. I split my time between Sofia and Plovdiv, both of which have outstanding Roman ruins, since Thrace was an imperial province. I loved both places and may go back in September. I want to hike the Rhodope Mountains on the Greek border. I didn’t hire while there, but I did hook up with a very hot Israeli soldier! I wonder @boiworship if you had to be discreet, or whether you were able to be open, about being gay while you were in Bulgaria? I imagine that being openly gay in the countryside would elicit some disapproval, as in most countries.
