A repeat of tumblr. I wonder if anyone knows how many subscribers tumblr lost in the years after it banned pornography.

As with any crowdsource and unregulated business that is booming, when they threatened existing industry, they are bound to be challenged by authority and forced to make changes. We see similar things with airbnb fight with hotels and craigslist.

Do they actually do business that isn't porn?

Apparently, they do. I don't know the revenue numbers, but the platform is worldwide HUGE. They're based in London. My son tells me there are a lot of women, especially younger women, who have tease sites. They barely show cleavage, but they're raking in millions. The phenomenon is truly amazing. There seem to be millions of straight guys around the globe who are willing to spend lots of money per month simply for the attention of a decent looking girl. Loneliness is quite lucrative.

My sources tell me that the news are exaggerating.

Your sources are wrong. It's a finance issue. They are caught up in needing to borrow money and lenders are concerned about under age sex and sex trafficking laws. There's also the issue of Visa and Mastercard, two financial institutions who want nothing to do with under age pornography and/or sex trafficking.

OnlyFans claims they will allow nudity, but they will crack down on illicit sex acts. Me thinks the male hardon is "illicit," so even the tame bating videos will end.

No matter who comes along to replace them, the under age/sex trafficking issue will follow. No political party wants to be on the side of child pornography or sex trafficking. When it comes to porn, it's impossible to prove anyone's identity or age.

Perhaps porn is losing a bit of its appeal. After nearly two years of pandemic-driven growth, consumers of remote sex may be coming to realize that it can only end in the time honored--yet ultimately disappointing--solo conclusion.

As a friend recently observed, "If I can't touch it, I don't watch it."

I think that JustForFans is having orgasms over the prospects of content creators bringing their business over. I believe they take 30% rather than 20%. Guys are starting to message reassuringly on their Twitter accounts where they also link their porn platforms.

I imagine that consumers that paid longer subscriptions will see the more X-rated content censored by the creators themselves as the latter organize their transitions.

it's not just women who tease. There are plenty of gay guys doing it too. I paid for one month of Lucas Dell's OF. Very disappointing.

Apparently there are also some celebrities and pseudo-celebrities who use OF for fan engagement that are not pornographic. But clearly it is a tiny segment of their business.

The issue does seem to be visa and MC not wanting to be associated with the business. It seems like proving performer age is easy enough to prove with a government ID. Just like the porn studios have to keep records proving ages, these site can and I suspect that they must.

A few of the guys in my network (I only reached out to those with very strong following and thousands of members) contacted OF as soon as the rumor started. This is the response they are receiving:

Without knowing what the question is, both could hold true. News article said they will only start the ban in october, so if the question didnt specify the time, then the respond will still be true, for now.

LOL. Of course that's the corporate response. What else can they say to halt the hemorrhage? The announcement alone sent droves to JustForFans, clicking to check JFF's pricing policy so that sex workers can figure out how much more this social media thing is going to cost them.

JustForFans may experience a windfall, but it won't be long before their lawyers will get hounded by the Feds. Whenever sex and loads of money are involved, nothing fun for the consumer lasts very long.

I don't live in the USA and a subscription is therefore rather a waste.

I disagree. Whenever I travel, the New York Times is my preferred read.

Would you be very kind and copy and paste the article?

Repeating myself, the article is copyrighted material. Oz, the owner of this site, has been quite clear about the issue of posting copyrighted material on his board. Perhaps someone else can help.
