I'm going to Manila

Recommended Posts

Guys I'm off to Manila tonight just checking out of my hotel here in Cebu .

My plans this week to book the tour guide in Manila if he is at.

I should of booked the Cebu Siam tour guide I guess rather than wander around aimlessly.

Cebu is ok it reminds me of the Gold coast Australia, except there are no nice beaches I can see directly around .

I probably won't come back to Cebu.

Things I would do differently are do my research first , I do like casinos so there are a few big ones here full of Chinese & Koreans , attractions here are ocean world marina, shopping malls ,nothing to really excite me.

I probably would stay in a less price hotel ,you can get decent 3 star here for around 1200 pesos a night not as cheap nor good quality as in Thailand for that price though, here I'm paying average 2500 pesos per night around 2000 baht a night I guess in Thai money

But as I said I think Pattaya still wins over Cebu for me except there's unlimited free sex here in Cebu.

But guys if I done my research better or even went with that tour guide from Siam  roads I would probably enjoy it more because I would have more knowledge .

Anyway I'm off to Manila then to Angeles City

There are some negative to free sex I have found out , you have to find guys , either in apps or walk around and talk to guys working in shops etc it's a lot of work hunting !!!

Also, I think you're offering exactly what they want.   I'm expecting it's relatively easy to get lads around for free if you're just looking to suck them off.  However, we are a diverse group and some members will have totally different expectations for what happens when meeting a lad.

If a customer is looking to be the top & **** a cute slim lad, the field shrinks considerably.  There are of course so many lads in The Philippines that we will still find one, but having found candidates, I'd rather pay them the 1000 pesos than keep looking for free sex.

Well arrived Manila last night 830pn, taxi queue was a mile long all unorganised of course ,nothing like Bangkok.

I booked a hotel on the app , all seem very expensive here in Manila compared to Bangkok.

One thing I found out is never think it's the hotels advertised price.

Agoda says a hotel is 2100 pesos a night ,then you click it on then they add taxes , admin fee etc it becomes 1000 pesos more by the time you go to the payment page !!

So anyway ended up paying 3100 pesos for a 3 star in Malati , expensive Manila !

Actually I'm starting to appreciate Bangkok far far more after being here in Manila and seeing it's disorganisation

So  me and bf decided to walk away from airport, into a nearby street and to be greeted by touts " where you go ,where you go?

Ended up paying 500 pesos to malate ! Had to, no taxis available and grab too busy

Grab qouted 455 so not much difference but this place compared to Bangkok is expensive.

Our hotel 1970's style  which is in centre of malate would be around the 2000.baht mark in Bangkok ,here in malate with taxes, vat, admin fees, Agoda fees etc came to 3200 pesos a night !

Maybe during the week the qouted from apps such as Agoda go down.

Now one thing I should of learnt by now is .....never book a hotel more than one night , I always see what it's like the first night ,but this time I didn't and booked 2 nights only to see the Agoda app drop the price to 2000 pesos tonight !

Anyway guys sorry for being so negative this post ,I will see how Manila goes in the next few days,it's not my cup of tea at the moment.

In fact I probably prefer my old stomping ground of Thailand but that may change as I wander Manila

I'm staying Manila bay area

Now sorry to sound so negative about experiences just I'm used to Thailand.

My Filipino bf has told me to angry last night to stop complaining and whinging & accept that this country is more aggressive style  and I would say more expensive  than Thailand but anyway it's a experience I guess ,

Anyway arrived hotel last night my bf was angry or fed up I was whinging/ complaining a lot so went to bed as soon as we arrived

I will see today it's about 7am right now so I'm heading off into Manila city

I just hate it when companies like Agoda add all these taxes etc, they don't do this in Thailand.

But anyway today I will stop being so negative , this country is making me one of those whinging old men 😂😂

...to be continued

Well I'm out & about in Manila , still reeling over paying over 3000 pesos a night for a hotel !

Agoda have these prices then add taxes admin fees etc etc it becomes more but anyway as I told you guys know I have a anxiety disorder so I catasphrize things as my ex pyschologist use to say

Having a mental disorder especially travelling in countries like this either makes you stronger or breaks you .

Well I'm going to a gay sauna tonight called the bathouse .

I have contacted Siam Roads for a tour guide but still havi heard back not that it matters anyway .

One thing is I had a few touts approach me to buy watches etc but quickly leave if you say no.

I know this sounds silly but I like to walk on the very edge of the foot pavement to " balance" for my morning exercise put my arms out and balance walking in the very edge of the footpath and I think I saw a few touts come to approach me and then must of thought I was crazy and walked the other way 😂

Could be government regulated taxes that must be added in that manner, don't give Thailand any ideas.

It happens in Mexico now too, this president is into taxing taxing and taxing and taxing.....

Oddly the Metro maintenance depot is directly across the road from the airport, but to walk to the nearest station is likely to be a couple of miles or so from the terminals.

Agoda have been quoting initial prices without taxes for years.   It usually goes up by the time you get to the payments page.  Quoting the customers a price they cannot have is bad behaviour.

Booking.com and Hotels.com are usually better, but ultimately I book with whichever has the best deal.

I recently stayed at an Italian hotel which added taxes which weren't even declared at the payments page.   Naturally, I refused to pay, but since Campanile are obviously some kind of mafia organisation, they changed the keycard to lock me out of the room until I did pay.

I recovered the money off Agoda, so well done to them.

Well guys I have had nearly a full day out today and enjoyed Manila .

Went to Rizal Park Chinese gardens, Japanese gardens, got the busy SkyTrain.

So many many brown skin hot sexy boys all dressed nicely walking around...it's a Eye Candy Paradise

I have yet to see any poverty , no crime ,no one has touted me it try to sell me anything, don't be afraid of the rumours that it's dangerous here, the place is over run with security guards on every corner

Hot looking eye candy...muscle boys , absolutely stunning looks

Manila is extremely busy, you have to get used to it, I can't say it's like Bangkok though

Filipino people seem to be more aggressive in their approach, they push their way into buses & SkyTrain etc .

They don't seem to be as placid as Thai people , you could easily upset these people I find ,they aren't as friendly or relaxed as Thai people.

But it doesn't stop me from looking at the passing eye candy in the street, I have noticed the boys  dress very nice clean t-shirts etc

I like Manila , I feel relatively safe,no one has been aggressive to me except the taxi touts at the Manila airport..but next time I will know to book a car before I arrive.

But Bangkok beats Manila for most things ,it's hard to get taxis here in Manila they don't want to use their Meter because of traffic

Went to SM mall Asia last night, the biggest shopping mall in Asia situated on the waterfront area near Conrad's casino hotel

Action in the toilets at SM shopping mall  Asia !

My Filipino bf was being sucked off in the cubicle , a lot of bisexual Filipino daddy type in there though obviously family men wanting a bit of action, not my cup of tea.

As for Siam roads tour guide still no response from that gay tour company so I won't bother with them,I'm a little bit sad as I thought they were reliable and wanted to book day & night tours but no response to my umpteen emails.

Gay night life here there is the Apolla , haven't been though bits a gay male table top dance club.

Last night walking thru Malate a suburb of Manila I'm being approached by both younger guys & girls for room massage but some looked a bit young and I don't want to start checking identity etc ,no doubt they were 18 just I didn't feel in the mood ,but I guess I could of tipped the security guards to check.

After today I will head up to Angeles City which is a red light city 2 hours north of Manila.

Grindr is far different here in Manila than say smaller cities as Davao etc,the guys look younger here in Manila 18ish and obviously are more money boy inclined rather than the other cities who seem just to want to have sex

Seems no free sex here in Manila unless your into daddy types

.

Just ENJOY!!

Hey @Rick7235 I can show you around if ever I'm free.
A more discrete way of asking a guy in the street is by giving him a piece of paper with a tip of around $2, the note would typically say something like "If you ever need any help you can text or call me anytime (Insert number here). Be sure to give it discretely and walk away immediately, if he is interested he'll text you, if not then $2 is not much of a waste. Approach him naturally like you asking for directions, or recommendations where to eat, make some small talk so he won't feel like you're a creep, than thank him after with the note.

Filipinos usually shy if you put them in an awkward situation, and of course there may be some that may become violent if given indecent proposal in the streets. This is a way to indirectly imply that you like the guy and are willing to help out financially.

Handsome is certainly subjective, it is a stereotype here that farangs are more interested with people with a more "exotic/native" facial feature. Whereas most of the locals here would associate attractiveness with western features (aquiline nose, strong jaw, high cheekbones, white skin, etc). So I can't really say for certain if there are a lot of handsome guys here because from my standards, there are certainly a few.

Hi thanks for the above..

I heard from some pinoy I know who are working in Malaysia. They are suggesting that when I am in Manila.. go out to the open . The streets, the shopping centre.. and just walk up to the boys i like ( they know I'm into fit handsome straight guys ) and start by pretending to ask for directions and than jump into asking them if they are willing to follow me back to my room for a price . I was told that it's very easy to get boys in this way . And chances of a deal is almost like 100% ..

Since you are already there . Can you advise if it's workable using the above methods?

Thanks

I’m a local and haven’t really made any advances to anyone in the streets. Like what I’ve said Filipinos are not usually direct when it comes to any social interactions. Doing so would most likely be considered as rude or down right derogatory. It’s a different story on the other hand if you’re a foreigner, especially if you’re caucasian. The worst that you may get might be a an awkward laughter and a polite no.

This also depends on your location. If approach someone in BGC or Makati, it is more likely that they will downright reject you as most are salarymen/corporate types. If you are in Malate or Cubao you might have a chance on snagging someone who’s on their lunch break or are out from work. If you’re in Tondo or any of the crowded barangays then the probability is further increased especially if you approach the “tambays” (lit. Standbys), unemployed men who frequent street corners for a midday alcoholic binge.

But I must warn you that as you stray away from the CBDs and into the slum, the higher the chances of you being unsafe, just as in other countries (though again if you are a huge caucasian guy most would hesitate in mugging you).

In short, I think your pals are exaggerating when they said that you’ll get someone 100% of the time. Maybe 10% is more accurate. No one would drop their days schedule just to follow a foreign stranger to a hotel, unless they are really desperate.

side note: You can try security guards. They’re pretty ubiquitous, almost all establishments have at least one. But please don’t try and do this to your hotel security guard, it might end in a very awkward situation. Like what they say, don’t shit where you eat.

Now I know a little more on the Manila scene..

Is there a place that you can suggest I can go to explore and is safe to walk alone .  Where I can meet those handsome straight guys in Manila ?

And  How much should I quote them for short and overnight in my room ?

Also where can I go in Manila for the boys at night ? Are there places like gogo clubs like those in Bangkok  ? If not where?  If any

Many thanks

@Rick7235 it really depends on the whole purpose of your trip. Are you here mainly for cheap hookups or for some rest and relaxation? Manila, well Metro Manila for that matter, is actually made up of 16 cities and may take up to an hour (or two if you get stuck in rush hour) to commute between  these cities. So I would recommend that you plan your stay based on your goals for the trip.

The safest cities to walk alone in as a foreigner would be.

1. BGC (Bonifacio Global City) - Fairly new comercial district, lots of eye candy and expats. Though it may be hard to casually pay for someone at the streets since most of the people are here are yuppies, middle class salarymen, etc. But try your luck on apps such as grindr, planet romeo blued etc. a lot of Filipinos are actually attracted to Farangs, and you might someone for free. But if you really want to get straight guys, still try the app, a lot of MB advertise themselves in this area, though they may usually come at a premium due to this being a CBD (Price range: 3k-10k pesos and hour)

* Nectar is located here ( see below for clubs)

2. Makati City- Main business district of the metro, not much of a gay scene, more established than bgc with lots of hot married men, some yuppies, business owners. Main nightlife area is Poblacion, where you can find gay friendly bars and pubs, mainly catering to the young professionals mentioned. Poblacion is also a known red light district but mostly catered for the straights. Once again if you fire your app here you’ll find a lot of men for casual hook up or high end escorts ( 3k-10k pesos per hour, 15k above overnight)

3. Manila City (Malate/Ermita) - if you say Manila most of you may imagine this. Extremely chaotic, often times dirty. I would not recommend you walking alone here, be vigilant and have some common sense. Lots of MB here, some “Macho Dancer” clubs as well. Main red light district of the metro. (3k-4k for 3 hours usually)

4. Quezon City - Largest city in the Metro with some of the most famous “Macho dancer” clubs. Have a look at Adonis, Apollo, Fahrenheit. Or head on to Cubao which may be the area where you may have the most probable chance of soliciting someone from the streets. Gateway mall is a known cruising area. Cubao also has a lot of love motels where you can do your deed. Usual price for a trick is 3k for 3 hours.

P.S. I highly discourage picking someone off the streets for your sexcapades, as this for me is too risky. But if that’s what you’re into then please do it with an extra level of precaution ( don’t bring too much cash, don’t bring him to your hotel etc).

Try using the apps, or face book (there are a lot of facebook groups offering massages + happy ending) you may first meet them at a public place like a mall or coffee shop to see if they are up to standard before bringing them to your hotel/ love motel. Most would speak some English but don’t expect that they’d be fluent.

I’d post some info about the clubs if I have the time. Though some may already cese to operate due to covid.

I recommend you hire a gayguide for the first few days then you will be confident walking alone

Far better to be alone you will get boys approach you rather than they see someone with you

I walked everywhere no problems,Manila is over policed by private security police on nearly every corner

No one bothered me  except a few beggars , I'm sure I would find it more scary in the USA

Its seems it's a bit of a myth saying how dangerous it is, I would rather walk through Manila at night than say some Country Cities in Australia at night.
