stop that doom and gloom, of course they will

Vinapu, I just love your always positive attitude :)

However... Have you had a look at that soi recently? Not even the new indian gogobar survived but closed a month or so ago. Exept from X-boys and Dreamboys there are only ruins of old closed gogobars left like Kawaii, the old straight Pussy galore that had been there "forever", Lucky777/360 degree boys/Big boys etc. The only businesses that seem to survive and pop-up new are the indian restaurants that are everywhere.

The sad fact is that the number of gay westerns comming are falling dramatically every year no wonder gay veneues are disappearing the best example is Sunee Plaza in Pattaya and Paradise Complex in Phuket vibrant gay zones in the past and ghost towns now.

I don't attribute it to reduced number of tourists. Where I live I can see the same, lost of bars gentrified and are swanky restaurants and number of gay did not shrink, I say is more of us and we are more visible.

I think it 's just easier get sex nowadays than before and because of general acceptance gay sex lost  a bit of it's luster of forbidden fruit and bars are slowly melting because we don't need than as meeting and hooking up place. Porn shops are sharing the same fate, perhaps even faster.

I had been traveling to Thailand about 20 years I can certainly confirm you western gay numbers tourists and expacts comming to Thailand are dropping sharply this started around 2005/6 ,the golden years for me were between1999 to 2004 but I am not  mourning still Thailand is the best destination for me : attractive boys, cheap leaving costs , freindly people and excellent food.

I like your way of thinking, I still think out of my 20 trips , Dec 2015 was the best but second best is always the last one. In 1999 we were 20 years younger and that weights heavily on our perceptions. There's not trip like first one , whenever it was

When I said 1999-2004 were the golden years for me it wasn't because I was young then but for the different vibe in Thailand :

Dongtan beach was actually gay beach with lots of gay westerns and many local boys looking for company, The bars were packed with clients and many boys eager for clients , everything was much cheaper than this days ,Pattaya was much more cheeky it was like Disneyland for adults ,The general ambiance was much free with much less interfire from the authorities.

If you had been back than in Thailand I think you would be shocked how things were changed compare to 15-20 years ago...

not sure it was entirely good thing..... and it's perhaps why from time to time upon returning home when officer  asks me where I'm coming from and I say "Thailand" often they ask me second question " what you were doing there? "

My first trip was in 2001 and while I see difference I'm far from being shocked and even if like all of us I was then 18 years younger  ( and as a bonus had more disposable income then now ) I still think I like now better because I made that far.

I wish I can agree with you that now it's better maybe except BKK that is still doing well.

Chiang Mai gay night life now almost non exist compare to the past.

Phuket / Paradise complex is a shadow then what is used to be Paradise ghost town is more accurate to the gloom ambiance nowdays, almost all go go bars gone and the very few which survived have very limited choice of unattractive boys.

Pattaya - Sunee Plaza declined dramatically in number of bars, boys and clients mostly dark and quite.Boyz Town is no longer gay exclusive zone and most of the bars at the nearby soi's are closed . Dongtan beach is no longer gay beach with lots of local boys and gay westerns however Jomtien complex is doing well and much better than it used to be. Soi Day Night gay bars gone long time ago.

I agree with all above and more although you are right BKK it's still holding up,

My point is past is past , it's gone and instead of dwelling on memories we should cherish what we have now and we still have plenty. At end of day we need just one guy and he may be the only one standing on the stage when we enter bar. One of evenings I went to Senso and they had only 4 guys at the moment, I still had to make pick out of three I liked.

Went to dreamboy before moving to Abomb for their show. When i enter, 2 table with one table with 2 female customers, and another a farang. After a while, it was just me, and it does makes me feel uncomfortable, not particularly because the boys or mamasan, but mostly my internal introvert in play. I like to observe the boys freely without getting their attention unless i wanted to.

Boys wise, id off one or two if i had to choose, one of which been trying to get my attention as well. Very manly guy, body average but very nice sizeable legs and good muscle on his shin, which usually means he plays sports or martial art or used to do them. Again, i already off a boy from toy boy, so not looking to off the boy here, so after 5-10min of being the sole customer, i requested checkbin and mamasan asked if i wanted to stay for the show, and i said its ok, and make my way to Abomb. All boys are wearing white underwear only

Dream Boys loaded with boys two nights ago on a Monday night.  At least 12 boys on the stage in their undershorts.  Last night,

a few less but still lots of choice, good a/c and boys grateful for tips and offs.  Drink prices reduced to around 200b.  Few customers.
