I wonder if anyone can help. My friend is coming for a few days over Christmas and he wants to try an Indian restaurant. The main criteria is that the food must be of good quality, authentic in taste, and a reasonable pleasant ambiance. Gay friendly would be an asset but not imperative. As I am living here I know of some Indian places, but new branches and new establishments are opening all the time. As I rarely go to Indian restaurants I wonder if anyone can give advice on to which places are generally rated above others.

Note from GB: Despite these bombings, life in Pattaya is perfectly normal. Following the coup, unless you were watching the news you would not have known, in Pattaya, there had been a coup. The same is true after these bombings. Apparently there is a greater police presence in Walking Street, but other than that if there is a significantly greater-than-usual police presence, I have not spotted it. There are, of course, concerns that something could happen in Pattaya, since the city is such a highly popular holiday destination, but at least so far there have been no incidents in Pattaya and people are going about their business routinely, just like any other day. …

This is the first time I have been able to access Gay Thailand in the past 36 hours. As many of you know, an earthquake in Taiwan has disrupted Internet service throughout Southeast Asia. The latest reports tell us that in Thailand full service should be restored within the next five days. I was able to get in now, obviously, but the web site was extremely slow to load on this end. I'm glad we can get in at all and I hope things will be back to normal very soon. There are still a number of web sites either inaccessible or only partially accessible for us in Thailand, but I'm seeing a steady improvement as repairs to the earthquake damage are repaired.
