Really different type trips.Medellin is much much closer and cheaper. Even Jet Blue flies there. But fewer saunas. Most hotels should be no problem (although chamber maids will always find a way to convey their disapproval). I've stayed in the Old Town in the north of the city and changed hotels because it was too crowded with tourists and too far from Escape. I enjoyed a stay down in Vysedrad by the train bridge because it was next to the historic fort where Smetena and Dvorak are buried and a short cab to the center, But this last time I stayed by the IP Pavlova Metro on Tylovo Square and enjoyed it best. A trendy neighborhood (Vinograde) just 5 blocks south of Escape and Wenceslas Sqaure which is the center of activity in Prague. Vinograde has many of the biggest gay bars close-by. Drop-dead georgous guys waiting on trams etc and all over Grindr. 2000K is a lot of money to these guys. Generally though Wenceslas Square is the area to be in. A hotel I might check out sometime is the 4 or 5 star King David which is one block from Temple and 3 blocks north of Wenceslas Square and Escape.
