    @vinapu is right! I was forgetting that for this board's members, neither rain nor heat nor gloom of night (or a long walk) shall keep them from seeking some quality time with a handsome, young masseur! As for me, I am not as young as I used to be.

    I'd allow 30 mins from Silom Rd to get to either Prince or S'sense so a bit more than an 'easy' walk. Go down Convent Rd to Sathon Rd, cross the pedestrian bridge & then straight down Suan Phlu. S'sense is right on Suan Phlu & Prince is up Soi 6.

    Harris does seem to be settling scores left & right but the advance for a book by a prominent politician (even after a defeat) will probably be in the millions of dollars & it's free publicity after all.

    Very sad news! He was, as you say, quite popular in the 50's-60's, writing a lot of funny songs & performing. But then, around 1970, he just stopped & went back to his scholarly career. He is quoted as saying: Political satire became obsolete when Henry Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. I think that his decision to withdraw from writing & performing may be one cause for his obscurity.

    The 787 has been in service for 14 years with no previous serious accidents. Someone pointed out that the landing gear on the plane had not been retracted as it normally would have been which is another indication of a major systems failure.

    US State Department travel warning is to 'exercise caution' in 3 southern provinces, not in Thailand as a whole: Exercise Increased Caution to: Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat, and Songkhla provinces due to civil unrest associated with ongoing insurgent activities I agree that such travel advisories should generally be taken with a sizable grain of salt.
