Day 13.
 For today’s trip Christian PFC , famous blogger  https://christianpfc.blogspot.com/ 
who happened to be in Siem Reap at this time is joining S and me for the trip. Destination of Koh Ker and on our way back -Bang Melea.
 As before,   we departed at 8 on the dot and it’s  about  2 hrs. drive to Koh Ker. Admission 15 $.
Temple is very unusual for Angkor temples as it’s pyramid shaped and would not be out of place in Chitzen Itza or other Mayan sites. Of course we climbed it as first step, wise move as more tourists arrived.







 
After surveying pyramid and main temple underneath we surveyed about 10 smaller temples  in the surrounding forest , all accessible by the vehicle. Then returned to main temple area for a lunch  and on our way back checked another 2 or 3, last of them close to the exit Prasat Pram turned out to be second best to main temple only.
 



Then to Bang Melea. Last time I was there my time was spoiled by 2 busloads of Chinese tourist who behaved below any standards, screaming and climbing ruins even where prohibited. This time , in the afternoon , just before closing time it was much more serene and most tourists at that time  seemed to be locals.
 It used to be 5$ admission but now Bang Melea is included in Angkor ticket. Do not even try to arrive without one as guards were quite adamant to require one and even if they let you go , there’s another ticket check at main complex . Unfortunately that was our Christian’s fate but he patiently waited for s and me having driver as companion.
 Bang Melea is perhaps most atmospheric from all Angkor temples, specially if not crowded with it labyrinthine construction and deep shade from trees growing on the stones .
 




 
Back in Siem Reap I secured our driver for trip to the airport tomorrow and  three of us went for pizza to Pub street.
 
Today is my last day in Cambodia and I was proud of my budgeting. After putting aside some money for the maid in hotel and for driver for the fare tomorrow  I was left with 1$ and 1000 riels .
For said dollar I bought my last Hanuman Black and 1000 riels took home as memento.
 
As for entrainment, again  some whispers on balcony  while emptying that hanuman and another one I had in the refrigerator already.
Nosy person should ask what about S ?  Shouldn’t you give him at least that 1000 riels?  Relax , all was fixed in advance as he preferred to be  compensated in baht and in Bangkok.
 
Day 14
 
After breakfast we parted ways , S went to see his folks with plan to come to Bangkok in the evening and I at 9 jumped into car and went in style to the airport. In 45 minutes I was there, this time admitted to the departure area. Since Keithambrose already placed pictures above no need for repeat but I need to mention I notices that all signs in departure are were in English and Chinese, nothing in Khmer in their own country !
 

Day 2
First full day and kind of quiet. After energetic night and jet lag still lingering  I took it easy. D and me had breakfast at Foodland of all places and parted ways. As it happened I did not see him anymore this trip even if visited Tawan quite a few times, Perhaps he went home or it was just bad luck.
I had some dental work to do at Thai Smile. Passing by I stepped in just to book an appointment but doctor was  expected to be free in few minutes and since I had money on me I just wait and had it done . Then feeling bit sleepy decided to energize myself with massage so went  to soi 6 and Nut from Maha spotted me approaching from mile away and grabbed me  right away. Sweet , talkative , tiny but  very muscular guy and I was happy with our 1.5 hr session. Massage made me hungry so I took motorsai to Charoen Krung soi 49, you guessed rightly to Madrid Tavern for my first pizza this trip.
 Late afternoon jet lag made me wanting badly to get some sleep so I returned to the room, set my alarm for 21.00 as I was supposed to pick up Y at Moonlight as agreed yesterday and collapsed on the bed.
It was good idea with that alarm since I was sleeping soundly. After making myself looking decent – in Thailand I have habit to shave just before I hit bars in the evening and went to Moonlight. Y was there already , I bought him a drink and told him we will go after the show.
 At 10 pm bar was almost empty bar even if it was half an hour before show. But models and floor boys soldered on regardless. By 11 filled up nicely to about half capacity.
Show quite decent. There, s new model, I guess his nick is  Sam or similar. Quite handsome . Several new, floor boys, as well. Lack of crowds did not mean disaster as some high spending farang was holding court and was distributing tips by a handful.
Y when sitting with me  asked by said farang to join for round of drinks. Y asked my permission and he said  for 15 minutes only. I agreed and it was a good move costing me nothing. After 15 minutes, and gulping 2 or 3 shoots he was clutching in his fist no less than 900. 
So it seems that sparse crowd doesn’t mean financial disaster. All depends. On another hand during my time there i.e. 10 to 11.45 my off was only one and I was, sitting in good position to see comings and goings through the door. So at 11.45 we went to Happy Beer Garden to have some meal, no prize for guessing what I had. Y ordered something simple as well which can’t be said about most boys I used to invite there.
Since Raya is across the street few minutes after paying the bill we were already in the shower. Y never disappoints and did not even try to this time either. 2nd night and 2nd great one. Will I ever get decent sleep while in Thailand?

2 years ago, I was also shy about visiting a bar alone, but you don't have to be afraid, just focus on having fun. I was at Banana bar last night, customer drink is 450 baht, boys' drinks are 300 baht, bar fee is 500 baht. l paid 3900 baht totally ( 2 drinks for me, 2 drinks for my ultra cute Cambodian, 3 days off bar fee for my ultra cute Cambodian, 2 drinks my Cambodian's friend and 1 drink for mamasan). 
By the way, I will be in Bangkok in the 2nd week of April, if you are available, I can accompany you for a bar visit. My favorites are moonlight bar and banana bar🙂

Silom seemed very hot busy indeed. I had Songkran celebrations in Siem Reap province, full of handsome smiling straight Khmer boys... another way to have good fun !
Now back to Pattaya, so quiet, seems i missed the party 😁

- yes Rendez-Vous bar is a nice, relaxing and friendly bar to chat with expats and boys (didn't have that much travellers when i stopped by)
- Barcode show was nice and entertaining, lasting more than 3 hours. Many customers arrived around 10pm, at 11pm it was full on a Wednesday evening. Very friendly staff. 

I consider this type of behavior i.e. when boy is offered drink , accepts it and leaves after taking sip or two , extremely rude.
It happened to me at Moonlight last trip , well known and multiple times offed guy, lets call him A,  asked for drink so I agreed. He took one sip and asked for permission to go for a minute to chat with other (lady) client . Minute turned to rest of the evening , till at least I was in the bar. He never returned. Since we know each other well I thought he took me too lightly. After all it was 400 baht drink not beer at 7/11
Next time there, week and half later  situation repeated , he approaches me asks for drink. I agreed but told him to his red face that I expect him to  sit with me until drink will be done because I did not like what happened last time. This time he did, I even tipped him but  to keep balance called also other guy to wing me and offed  that other guy.
 
 

I personally don't tip just for sitting with me and having drink on me but always do tip when get more touchy feely- not necessarily in nether regions even. My reasoning is if I do to them something out of ordinary like hand holding or embracing they should be compensated for me invading their personal space. More personal invasion results in bigger tips.

Prior to covid, and again now, you can buy Ping Pong balls. The idea is you throw them to the boys on the stage. The ones they catch, they get paid for. If my memory is correct (4 years ago) you buy the balls for 10/20 baht each. It's a fun and interactive way to play with the boys on stage. 

I first saw this at Boyzboyzboyz.
All I can say is, the guys probably don't get paid much per ball, as a lot of them couldn't be bothered chasing after them. I think it is yet another cynical way for the bar to get money out of its customers.
I thought the whole spectacle was degrading and humiliating.
But that's just me.

Maybe because my phone is from 2017?
Either way, I do just fine with regular SIM cards. It's no complication at all for me. And I enjoy interacting with local service providers, but perhaps that's just me. 😁
