  1. I may be in Khon Kaen at end of January for a week. Where would be a good place to stay with high speed Internet? What is the city like? Weather like that time of year?
  2. UTTARADIT: Government officials in Uttaradit have been put on high alert after a teenage couple was caught having sex right outside the culture office in the Provincial Hall on the afternoon of September 20. On that day, the town was packed with people coming to watch a festival being held in Phraya Phichai Dap Hak Sports Stadium, opposite the hall. Uttaradit resident Thongsak Yammansri told reporters that he happened upon the canoodling couple at about 2 pm, after he felt the urge to relieve himself while watching the procession of floats displaying local fruits and beauty queens. As he was wandering past the offices of the provincial election commission and culture office, Thonsak was shocked to see two teens, whose ages he estimated to be no older than 17, brazenly making love in broad daylight on a stone bench. “When I saw them I was shocked,” said Mr Thongsak. “I wanted to stop them, but was embarrassed. So I just made a lot of noise so they would know they had been spotted. When I came out of the toilet, they had already gone. That day was a public holiday, so the government officers were not working. Also, most people were watching the opening of the festival, so there weren’t many people around,” he said. “I guess they were a young couple who wanted to give it a try, but didn’t have money for a hotel room,” conjectured Thongsak, who said he feared it could be the start of a worrying new social trend. “I can’t believe that today’s young people could be so daring – and in such a bad way; having sex in inappropriate places with no fear of being seen,” he lamented. Sairung Thadajang, from the Uttaradit Provincial Cultural Office, said that after hearing about the incident in the press she was very shocked and immediately went to examine the spot where the couple were caught. “Teenagers nowadays see all sorts of things on the Internet and don’t know what they should and shouldn’t do,” Ms Sairung complained. “Underage sex is a big problem in society now. The Culture Office has tried to combat it by controlling Internet use and arranging cultural activities to give youths something to do, but only some groups are interested,” she explained. Uttaradit Vice-Governor Jakrin Plianwong said that he had not yet been informed of the incident, but would now be investigating it in full. From now on, members of the provincial volunteer guards will be asked to increase patrols in and around the seat of the provincial government to ensure there is no recurrence or other untoward events taking place there, he said. http://www.phuketgazette.com/queernews/index.asp?id=6874
  3. PHNOM PENH (Reuters) - Impoverished Cambodia has doubled its 2009 military budget to $500 million (311 million pounds) following this month's border clash with Thailand, officials said on Wednesday, an increase that is likely to anger its donors. The National Assembly is expected to approve the new budget next week, with the military accounting for 25 percent of all spending, said Cheam Yeap, head of its finance commission. "This incident has awoken us to the need for our soldiers to be better equipped. We cannot sit and watch Thai troops encroach on our border," he told Reuters. "Our army needs to be more organised, better trained, with newer bases and well-fed troops." Three Cambodian soldiers and one Thai died in the October 15 firefight in the shadow of the 900-year-old Preah Vihear temple, a stunning set of Hindu ruins that have been claimed for decades by both countries. 4. The economy is struggling in most parts of the world. People have lost retirement investment and their portfolios are down. Many have said they are unable to return to Thailand next year as it is cost prohibitive. We are here are help with our High Season Give-A-Way. The prize:: A roundtrip ticket from your city to Thailand anytime during 2009. We will book this for you (via Rhonda and Norcross Travel or another travel agency to insure discretion) for up to 1500 USD. The way to enter: Every day we will tally the number of people that have 3 or more posts. Winner (to be drawn by independent witnesses) must have made 3+ posts, on any given day, and also at least 150 posts over the competition period (November 1 – Feb. 28th). To qualify, the posts must be reasonable quality. One or two word posts will not count. While this post is in the main Thailand forum, there are other forums here as well and all qualify. In the first week in March, we will have a drawing and the person whose name comes out of the hat will be the winner. We will have the drawing in a public place in Pattaya or Bangkok with observers to watch the entries and the results. Rules* The prize must be taken before December 31, 2009. There is no cash equivalent offered. If the winner is unable to travel to Thailand the prize will be offered to 2nd place and so on. Judges decision will be final. Administrators and Moderators are ineligible. *The competition and its rules are subject to change if circumstances are beyond our control. Added Nov 3 for Clarification: Everyday we keep a tally. Each day you post 3 or more posts, you get one slip of paper with your name on it. If you post 3 or more posts each day for 10 days, you get 10 slips of paper put into the hat. If you post 3 or more posts for 60 days, you get 60 slips put into the hat. The more days you post 3 or more posts, the more slips of paper you get in the hat as long as you have 150 over the contest period. Thus, the more days you post 3 or more, the more likely you are to have a piece of paper drawn from the hat.

  7. At the disco last night, I made a few promises for short times. One was for 2 O'clock today as I do love an afternooner. But, as I was typing here at 8am, he showed up in my bedroom. My gardener let him in as she knew him and recognized him from more than a few visits. I looked back and said, "why are you here so early?" He said I told him 2 and he wanted to come and woke up early to be here. I often forget that the word usage for Thai time is different than my usual words so I need to be more clean. Anyway, on that note, I am off for a bit (with a smile on my face as I love a morning visit even more than an afternooner) with a note to myself to be more clear on times from now on.
  8. After a hard start with the fish pond in my home months ago, I was very happy to return to the Land of Smiles and see not only had my fish lived but they were getting bigger. It made me feel wonderful that the boyfriend had feed them so well that their little bellies are bigger and they are growing and growing. I am not sure the boyfriend felt the same about my Brazilian boyfriend who fed me even better and I grew and grew on my little trip down to see him. When I am in Brazil it is an insult to the boyfriend's mother not to eat with her every day and she thinks that desert is a required part of the meal. Anyway, I guess the fish and I both grew on my trip away from the Land of Smiles but it is much nicer to see them grow than it is to see me grow.
  9. I remember the old names much better than the new ones but the old K boys is hopping. I was there the last 2 nights and over 45 dancers I counted each night. They have a nightly show with drum beating that is fun to watch. The place is lively and enjoyable. If you are visiting Sunee, you need to drop by for a visit!
  10. A Thai friend of one of my special guys had a Birthday yesterday. I brought his friend into town to surprise him and threw the boy a birthday bash. We started out with a group of about 12 at bowling and dinner and then moved the party to Body Language around 12:30. When we arrived, no one was there but within an hour the place was jamming. Tons of cute eye candy both on and off the stage. I found 2 of the coyote dancers as hot as they come and tipped them accordingly. There was also plenty of eye candy in the crowd and a lot of full tables. The place seemed to be packed by the time I had to call it quits at around 3. Our group had grown from 12 to around 25 but not sure where they all came from. LOL Some I knew, some I didn't. Some I really wanted to get to know more had I had more time. This is a gay club with gay staff and wonderful management. I have yet to have a bad time there and I hope that they keep on thriving! Last night was a hoot and it makes me want to try it again this week. BTW: the new boy I got reacquainted with yesterday is staying with me for a bit. He went to the club with me. I posted in another thread where he had been away from Pattaya for years and he has never worked in a bar. What I also didn't know was that he has never been drunk on whiskey. I was stupid not to ask and not to watch him but he got wasted. When we returned home he was as drunk as they come. A few trips to the bathroom to throw up and I got him in the shower to get some water on him (and the smell off him) and he went to bed. I didn't sleep a wink as I was too worried about him. I did have him drink 2 Propels before he fell asleep and take some aspirin. He is sound asleep in my bed now. The rough part of the night is gone and over and he made it through. I have yet to find out how he feels when he wakes but I am hoping for the best. New Rule for me: Always ask everyone that you take drinking if they have had whiskey before!
  11. Apple, long known to support gay rights, has given 100,000 to fight the Prop 8 in California. What are the polls saying now? Is there a chance of this passing? http://www.macworld.com/article/136372/200...l?lsrc=rss_news
  12. I met another poster tonight for drinks. Normally I do not drink. Wait. To be honest I never drink. I have not ever been drunk. I have been high in my youth but that was from smoking and not alcohol. (Rarely a night goes by in Amsterdam when I am not a bit flighty) But, we met up and started laughing and having a blast. One thing led to another and he got me to play a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors with him. I lost and drank my first shot of whiskey in 20 years. After a bottle of Black went down, I made my way home to some beautiful boys who were horny as hell. My only response to them was "not tonight dear, I have a headache." Now I know what it feels like. While I was not drunk, I did have more than I have had in one night in my entire adult life. And, to top it off, I had a blast. Thanks Jomptien for a great night! I really did have a fantastic time. I convinced the boy I knew from years ago to stay the night so that hopefully tomorrow, I'll be able to get reacquainted with him. But, your lively spirit and fun personality with all the boys was a great treat tonight. If only every Farang were so nice to the boys in the bars and so generous, it would give all of us a good name. PS. Please don't post anything tonight as I know you lost more of the Rock, Paper, Scissors than I did.
  13. I met a boy MANY years ago. For many reasons it did not work out. I have not seen him in ages but my heart always wonders about him. Today, the boyfriend was at the motorcycle dealership window shopping (that is a hint he wants to trade up) and he met the boy and remembered him from over 4 years ago. He called me and said the boy wanted to say hi. We did talk a bit and met for lunch. He has been out of Pattaya for 4 years working in a factory and just came into town today to see his mother. He has been at my place all day. He is adorable and one of the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen on a boy. It is things that this that make this place so magical. It is also a great plus that he and the boyfriend get along so very well. It was karma that he came back into my life. My friends from years ago would remember the tears I shed when he left me and Pattaya. Now, he is at least a small part of my life. What an amazing fucking day!
  14. Don't forget this amazing holiday on the first full moon in November. I have made it to many and the beaches are packed with party goers and revelers. Fireworks are loud and in abundance. I hope that everyone gets a little piece of this amazing holiday.
  15. I see there are over 15 people on line now and I can't seem to sleep as my jet lag has kicked in and my days are my nights and my nights are my days. I'll be at Papa David's in Jomptien at 7:30 and happy to treat anyone up so early to a nice breakfast feast! Just drop on by and have a bit to eat. I'll be sitting at my regular table with a white shirt on. Good morning all.
  16. I have always said that Alexa is one of the worst ways to view traffic results as it is an indication only of those with Alexa tool bars (I think). That sems to be web masters, etc and others interested to know the makeup of the rankings for the sites. The rankings go up and down depending on how they decided to tally the results. I have not looked at these rankings in ages as I have a Mac computer and the tool bar is for IE and not Safari. However, just a recent look shows us as moving up in those rankings. Thanks guys for the support! Gay Thailand 510,490 Ting Tong 599,339 Sawatdee Gay Thailand - 605,728 Bath Stop 3,472,559 All in all the gay sites for Thailand are doing great and kudos to each of them for continuing to move ahead in these rankings! Another prime indicator is the Google Rankings. Our name is good and thus we get a lot of google hits and I am sure that is what boosts our rankings as we know SGT gets much more posts on a regular basis and GT and BS have the more helpful postings and TT has the best eye candy. But, many who buy and sell domain names look at the Alexa Rankings to get a gage. www.alexa.com
  17. Looks like Rainwalker's generosity is not going to be around this year. It will be sorely missed as he was always overly generous in his forum get together. It does look like SGT and TT have decided to hold a dual forum party for the members of their forums. Should we just continue the All Forums get together and I'll pick up the tab? Just an idea that is sprinkling in my little head to be inclusive of all.
  18. The Boyfriend has to get one next week. We were told he needed his ID Card and Home papers. Is that it? Surely there is more to it than that? Anyone done this recently?
  19. The boyfriend and I are going on a holiday next month and the best route to travel in through Amsterdam. Will he have any problems with a Thai passport? I want this experience to be amazing for him.
  20. Ousted Prime Minister is found guilty and sentenced to 2 years in jail. http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/...ksin/index.html http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/world/AP-A...amp;oref=slogin
  21. n the early hours of Saturday Morning, a team of officers from the Child and Women’s Protection Unit, a division of the Royal Thai Police conducted a raid of the X-Ray Men’s Club located in North Pattaya following complaints which stated that underage boys were employed at the location. Police checked the age of employees and found them all to be over 18, however 4 were arrested because they were not carrying their Thai ID cards which is a fineable offence. The license for the establishment was checked and was found to have expired and the Duty Manager was duly arrested. A report of the incident has now been sent to the District Licensing Unit at Banglamung City Hall for their consideration. http://pattayaone.net/news/2008/october/ne...8_10_51_3.shtml
  22. LOL. You think that is all the time it takes to build a site? You have planing stage, development and testing. All of them take time. We have moved from the planning stage to the development stage. I hope to have a mock up of the new look for you next week. BUT, it will take about 3-4 more months to do have it ready for testing. Be patient Lucky. It will cum. LOL. You are right. That would be a seamless transition. However, I have never seen one of those. There are always growing pains.
  23. By David Morgan WASHINGTON, Oct 12 (Reuters) - Billionaire investor George Soros predicted on Sunday that the financial crisis would mean the end of a U.S.-led market system that has dominated the global economy with debt and deregulation since the 1980s. "Globalization, America as the center of the globalized financial markets, was sucking up the savings of the world," Soros said in a CNN interview. "This is now over. The game is out. It does mean a very serious adjustment for America," added Soros, a staunch backer of the Democratic Party. As world leaders rushed to help banks weather the crisis that has sent stocks into steep decline, Soros blamed the turmoil on the faith in market forces that began under President Ronald Reagan and British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher a generation ago. The notion that markets are self-correcting led to a massive expansion of debt financing that culminated in the sub-prime mortgages that epitomized the easy-money mentality at the root of the disaster, he said. "This belief became the dominant creed. And this, then, led to the globalization of markets, the deregulation of markets and the increased use of leverage and all the financial engineering," Soros said. "This whole enormous construct is built on false conceptions," he added. "You can go a very long way. But in the end, reality rears its ugly head and that's what happened now." Jeffrey Sachs, special adviser to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and director of the Earth Institute at New York's Columbia University, appeared to agree with Soros. "The age of Reaganism is over," Sachs said in a separate CNN interview. "The no-regulation, low-taxes (philosophy) has broken the back of our economy. We now have to get serious about reconstructing normal government that pays its way and a normal financial sector that's properly regulated." Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson's embrace of the same "market fundamentalist ideology" has made the Bush administration slow to respond to the crisis, said Soros, who blamed Paulson for not saving the Wall Street firm Lehman Brothers from bankruptcy. "That's what actually kind of unleashed the current phase of meltdown," he said. Soros said U.S. authorities could effectively address the crisis by recapitalizing banks, first with private money, and restructuring home loans to minimize foreclosures. 24. What is your favorite gay sites? What do you wake up to and find you have to visit. For me, other than this site, I will hit 365Gay, Xbiz and Gaydar. Any other sites I need to not miss?
  25. According to some hotly contested polls, race will cost Obama about 6 percentage points in the election. Is that possible? It does not seem likely to me but that is what is being said. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/12/weekinre.../12zernike.html
