It's been a few years since I have been in Thailand, but I can share this much. I have never tried to get a fetish massage in a shop but I have had guys from Romeo and Grindr match my fetish when performing massage. Before we met, I tried to have a conversation with them and share my fetish fantasies and 9 times out of 10, they met the challenge.

Back in the late 70's, NYC was beginning to resent the Japanese. People were complaining that they got all the attention in the big name stores spending big money on everything from Cameras to Jeans. But when you think about it, if any nationality of people think their money talks and can take the place of good manners or common courtesy, there will always be those who get a little burned every time they see it or hear about it. And we all know that birds of a feather will flock together and their chirps will become louder over time their chirps will become louder.

I'm headed to Brazil next month and will be spending a lot of time with the friends I made in Rio and Sao Paulo. They've been encouraging me, in a friendly and educational way, to avoid seeking out Garoto's and instead focus on meeting guys through them and at various social events we'll attend. However, I plan to visit a sauna on the days I have free to explore on my own. Based on my past experiences in the Sauna, I am sure to meet someone there that I connect with, and if the situation feels right and the price is reasonable, I'd be open to it. But if I don't feel a genuine connection, no matter the cost, I wouldn't be interested. Besides, I don't think about the ones that got away. I also want to add that I think we all tend to judge guys based on our initial impressions and estimated price range. As we talk and get to know them better, that initial extimate can change, similar to how our perceptions can shift when chatting with guys online. Personally, I know quickly if I'm interested in someone based on just a couple pictures. If either of us require more pictures... Well that borders on persuasion, it feels more like a sales pitch and probably neither of us is as interested in the connecton as much we pretend to be. So when it comes to Garoto's. If it was to be, it will be. If you can't connect because of $$, then move to the next guy. If they were worth crying over, then they are worth paying extra for. That is my opinion anyway....

I think some of you are like me, when you are interested in a place you want to know what is going on and read what other travelers want to share. I don't know if this board has any rules against sharing a link from another forum with similar topics as this one but if it is allowed, I would like to share https://www.companyofmen.org/forum/84-the-americas/ They don't seem to be as active as this forum gets at times but they seem to have interesting conversations and good topics.

How did you get your CPF on-line? I tried and was told they can only be obtained by going to a consulate.

I have google fi here in the USA and I use that plan when I am in Brazil and use data freely and I can use my phone as a hotspot. I was even able to use data while on the subway but I did run into dead spots. Click the link below for more on Google Fi.

Gay Brazilians targeted in deadly stickups, lured by dating apps Dani Morera Trettin Mon, August 26, 2024 at 6:04 a.m. EDT·5 min read 1 / 3 Gay Brazilians targeted in deadly stickups, lured by dating apps Gay Brazilians targeted in deadly stickups, lured by dating apps in Sao Paulo By Dani Morera Trettin CAMBUQUIRA, Brazil (Reuters) - It was June 12, Lover's Day in Brazil. Leo Nunes, 24, had spent a few days talking to someone he met on Hornet, a popular gay dating app, before arranging their first encounter in Sao Paulo's middle-class Sacoma neighborhood. A security camera captured the moment that two men on a motorcycle showed up in the alley where he was waiting, grabbed his phone and shot him dead. The Nunes family, who shared details of the investigation with Reuters, said one suspect had been arrested. Sao Paulo police said they are investigating the shooting as a robbery resulting in a homicide, but did not provide further information or confirm if there had been an arrest. Nunes was one of at least five gay men killed since March 2024 after planning encounters through dating apps in Brazil, according to news reports. Dozens more victims have described on social media suffering armed robberies after being lured by fake profiles on gay dating apps. Police have also warned of "love cons" involving straight men lured into kidnappings, without providing figures. The string of murders and assaults has shaken the gay community in Brazil, which is large and vibrant but still often wary of law enforcement. This reluctance makes it a target for criminals, according to three people who said they had been attacked, as well as LGBT advocates. "Because of structural homophobia, criminals know that LGBT people are vulnerable. They know they will be more easily intimidated," said Wanderley Montanholi, a lawyer for the family of Heleno Veggi Dumba, a gay doctor who was found dead in April in Sao Paulo after being shot in the head. Montanholi said Dumba was killed by criminals in an attempted robbery after they had lured him into an ambush through a dating app. Sao Paulo police said they had arrested three suspects in Dumba's death who remain in police custody awaiting trial. They declined to give more details. Montanholi said the crimes repeated a pattern in which criminals target gay men through dating apps and groom them for days with fake profiles across different social media platforms. Things that make you go Hmmmmm... (Brazil question & Answers)
bucknaway posted a topic in Gay Brazil
I just saw a photo of a Garoto taken in Point 202 sauna. He was sitting next to the hot tub on the 2nd floor. As always, it was empty of water. Has anyone ever been to Point 202 and seen the Jacuzzi Hot Tub in use? -
Lucky you! I have to wait till the middle of October before I arrive.

What is going on in Brazail causing the value of the Real to fall like this? Any speculation on how low it could go and for how long?

The last time I was in Thailand, the drink prices in the bars were hitting over 400 baht per if tip is included in the transaction. Also the tips for the guys was on the rise as well. Then came COVID. Bringing with it desperate please for money flooding messaging apps and mailboxes. I'm thinking of my return to Thailand but I think my love affair with Brazil, Brazilian men and affordable tip requests. Not to mention the very low bar prices. I'm having a hard time pointing my travel compass towards Asia. I'm wondering if gay price inflation is still in full effect in Thailand?

I've just landed a fully remote gig that lets me work from anywhere with a decent internet connection, including making calls to the USA. Now, I'm thinking of spending a month working from Brazil. Any of you legends done this before? If so, spill the beans! What should I definitely do, what should I avoid, and what considerations should I keep in mind? And of course, share your experience if you've taken the plunge. Can't wait to hear your wisdom!

I just saw a news article today on the violence and crime plaguing Rio de Janeiro. They make it sound like things are starting to boil over out there. And with my friends messaging me complaining about all the crime telling me that it's different now than before. Makes me think maybe it is getting worse. https://news.yahoo.com/brazils-idyllic-copacabana-rocked-crime-013920036.html

On my last trip the trouble I ran into was 202 not having a menu or a price list for drinks or food. So for a few days I went in and didn't spend a dime extra for a drink or food. I posted here about it and the next night when I went in they had a price list...

I went to dream boys last night and drinks price is horrendous
bucknaway replied to Wellhellothere's topic in Gay Thailand
Every year people are getting older and every day more gay men are retiring. Where are they going? Probably not places where bar drinks run 15USD per. -

At these prices, they wont attract new and younger crowds. They are milking the last of us before we meet our maker. -

It takes one bar to successfully maintain an all-time high in drink prices for others to follow. Just like when Dreamboys was the first to raise drink prices to 400B per. It wasn't too long after that it became the common price for the area. In 2 years the price will be 600B or 650B per beer.
