I was in the Emquartier supermarket yesterday and suddely some disco diva music, possibly Gloria Gaynor or some such, blared from the loudspeakers.

All the female staff simultaneously started some obviously well rehearsed dance routine.

Slightly embarrasing.

It would have been nice if the young male assistants in their tailored black uniforms had joined in.

I'll grant that she may been a diva, but to lump her with "some such" is sacrilegious.

 

I cannot imagine not knowing Gloria Gaynor when you hear her, but then, I am an older guy who actually danced to her tunes. (Not that I could actually "dance.")

 

Why would it be embarrassing for the female staff to do a dance routine? Were they really awful? Did they not do the great diva justice?

 

I think the next time this happens you should just go up to the young male assistants in their tailored black uniforms and start dancing until they got the hint to join in!
