Here We Go Again - Another "Farang" Arrested for Sex with an Under-Age Boy

Featured Replies

Considering the frothing at the mouths of some posters about the "great plaigarism scandal of 2006" -we have a perfect example of what passes for journalistic standards in Thailand by publications that pass themselves of as newspapers.

"Ugulen evaded arrest by moving to Piamsuk Village but was eventually traced.'

Not alleged---it is simply stated as though it were true.

How many times and in how many stories do these sort of publications make similar mistakes ?.

How much of what they have reported can be believed ?

Nor is this a "Thai" standard of writing-it is a western phenomenon of gutter style publishing that happens simply because they can get away with it.

Firstly, I fail to see what connection this story has to do with plagiarism.

Secondly, it's about time you turned the record over. Your pedantic pleas for cast iron proof regarding each statement made on these boards and in the press is wearing thin. In this particular case the report is factual in that it is citing the arrest of the guy on an arrest warrant issued in April on charges of sexual misconduct with a minor. The report goes on to say that he has denied the charges.

If you haven't realised by now that much of what you read in newspapers (gutter type or quality) - and on internet boards - needs to be taken with a pinch of salt because it consists mainly of hearsay, speculation, innuendo, spin and fabrication, and only a small percentage of accurate news, then you are not as well connected and aware of the way the press and media industries work as you frequently claim and want us to believe.

Thirdly, the Thai libel laws are available to the Norwegian if he feels that he has been libelled or wrongly accused of some act by the omission of 'alleged' in the report. In this particular case it is no concern of yours.

"I may not approve of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it" Indeed !

And this is the same Snowkat I presume who has waged into the Earwig bashing and backyard fence style false gossip that has been spread throughout Sunnee PLaza ?

When you make statements like the one above you should aknowledge that you are referring to yourself, others may not think likewise. :p

Well dear Snowkat it seems that old Baht-Stop doesn't quite share your view does it ?

Their high dungeon over an attack on Hedda's vaulted reputation by Earwig has them frothing at the mouth again and not only banning him but those who present an alternative proposition that the saintly Hedda is not all that he thinks himself to be.

That is a the beauty of vanity publishing on the internet-you can create or dismiss your readers at will .

What a strange lot we get on these board.

I have to agree totally with you (for once).

I'm pleased then Snowkat as variety is the spice of life ( and if I knew where that quote came from I would credit it's author).

"Variety's the very spice of life,

That gives it all its flavour".
