24 New Season

Featured Replies

I cannot think of a better television drama than 24. The first four hours were explosive (pun intended). I'm such a huge 24 geek I watch each week in real time :D

Count me in as a BIG fan of 24. I started watching it during season 4 and haven't missed it since. I've rented the first 3 season's dvds and loved them all :-)

Sorry to rain on the parade here, but what little I've seen of it has been waaaaay over the top to me.

That, plus the fact that it's on the FAUX News network, and is reputed to be the fave show of both Dick Cheney and Don Rumsfeld, puts it at the bottom of my viewing list. x(

You watch television shows based on network and what public figures enjoy them, are you serious?

If so you're missing out on an amazing, award winning show.

"waaaaay over the top" is the whole point. Restrained good taste wouldn't cut it.

Jack Bauer has to have more lives and invunerability than a cat from Krypton; the situations have to be hair-raising and beyond; the escapes have to come dangerously close to the Perils of Pauline; the writing has to encompass all that and be good enough to keep you riveted on the positives while you suspend your disbelief at the liberties with verisimilitude; the performances have to be as bold as the writing.

Cheney and Rumsfeld are irrelevant in all this. Their admiration can be written off to the fact that even the blind sow finds the occasional acorn. Parenthetically, I'm betting that they have all the paperwork ready so that they can adopt Peter McNicol the very day they celebrate their same-sex marriage.

My own guilty confession: my favorite character is Chloe. I would do anything to be that buckled-down.

Let's just say that I take my politics more seriously than TV fiction, particularly when that fiction is aired by a de facto propaganda arm of the far right wing of the Republican Party.

Different strokes for different folks. ;-)

Who born prior to 1970ish could have ever foreseen such amazing technology? And we've only just begun I can hardly wait to see what the future brings.
