LOLOL! A quote (well modified to the 21st century) dear to my heart.

There's a lot of wisdom in that "Rubayat" .... but I guess speaking to guys who do what we do, that's preaching to the choir! ^_^

...and not to omit thanks to his translator FitzGerald, whose Edwardian sensibility highlighted those elements of Khayyam that we like most.

Irrelevantly...

Is badly stained with ink, you must admit.

That's my last Duchess painted on the wall.

I've scraped, but cannot get her off at all.

I speak as one who has never come close to reading even a major portion of those quatrains, let alone all of them. But is your implication that Omar was gay? I thought that he was just long-winded, and that he had no truck with numbers aside from those he needed for his math.

My guess -- marc is alluding to Omar's gather-ye-rosebuds-while-ye-may philosophy. (Heightened, again, in FitzGerald's translation.) Without regard to what else may be proximate to said rosebud!

Especially the ones that look like 8-inch cocks? No argument here.

I was thinking of the ones on the posterior side of the perineum.

But why choose? Let many flowers bloom!
