It could be several days before doctors decided when the leader of Kennet District Council Chris Humphries is well enough to be flown home from Thailand where he was badly injured in a road accident on Saturday.

 

Coun Humphries, 60, who is also a county and parish councillor, received a broken pelvis and internal injuries when he was hit from behind while riding a moped.

 

He has suffered renal failure but is not on dialysis said his wife, Fran, who remained at home in Aldbourne while he holidayed in Asia.

 

He was staying in Bangkok where he takes several holidays each year and he was able to tell his wife that he was riding a moped when a vehicle crashed into the back of him.
