June 29, 200818 yr "Ron Simmons, president of Us Helping Us, an AIDS service organization for gay black men, said the revolution in antiretroviral therapy in the last decade appears to have lessened the fear of HIV infection." As a community, we seem to need to pick up the ball for education once again. Mr. Simmons' statement is one that I fell is indicative of our community in general. As these therapies advanced in the 90s, our grass roots educational efforts seemed to fall off. It's a tragedy for anyone to be afflicted by HIV and AIDS in a generation where we have such good education as to how to prevent it.
