I spent Saturday afternoon in awe at film perfection. I went with friends the Arclight Theatre in Hollywood to see "Precious". The acting in this movie is unbelievable. While the subject matter is difficult, you do leave the movie with a sense of hope. I'm still in shock over the performance from Mo'nique. If she doesn't win the Academy Award for this role, then every Academy winner should send her their awards. Her performance was one of the best I've ever seen on film. She makes Mommie Dearest look like Martha Stewart.

Even Mariah Carey was good and she irritates me endlessly. Although her role is small, she nailed it.

This is one of those movies that you will reflect on for days after you see it. It's best to go with friends so you can discuss it afterwards because you will need that outlet.

I saw this thread and got interested and saw this movie over the weekend. It was a great movie although it was VERY hard to watch at times. The acting was amazing. The director did a great job. This is something that you need to see.

It opens nationwide this weekend. It is worth a visit.

Also saw The Blind Side and really enjoyed it!
