January 29, 201214 yr My vacation home has a new gas boiler. It's warm down stairs but cold upstairs so I think somewhere along the pipes are blocked by sludge and rust. How do I clean pipes out? I read some methods online but not sure it's safe to do it on my own.

The way you have framed your question I assume your gas boiler heats water to serve a forced hot water system (sludge & rust being the clue). Air may have gotten into the line when the new boiler was installed. Have you tried bleeding off the air on individual radiators?
January 30, 201214 yr Kinda Fixed. The auxiliary tank needed to be cleaned. But the house is not so warm still. I will run the boiler for a couple of hours and see.
