February 16, 201214 yr I am trying to schedule my vacations for the year. I want to do one trip to Bangkok/Pattaya (first trip ever to Thailand) and one trip to Rio (4th time). Unfortunately, my regular travel buddy has already scheduled his time off work and it doesnt work with any time I can get.. I was wondering if anyone from here would be interested or has already planned trips to either of those places and wouldn't mind some company for part of the trip. (Or is anyone who resides in either place would welcome some American company) For the Rio trip, I have been enough times that I could be "tourguide" to help a newbie get acclimated to the scene. But in Thailand, I would most welcome someone who knows the "lay of the land" who could show me around. But it could be fun to explore it with another newbie as well. My "parameters" for vacation are as follows... 1) I will be able to be gone for 9 days total, including travel days 2) I cannot be gone over end of month/first of month 3) Best case scenario for me is start mid-week, and be gone only one Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon Was hoping to get first week in between say, April and June or so.. I WANT and NEED to get away before too long. Thanks guys. I hope to meet some more of you soon. Lurkerspeaks

February 16, 201214 yr I lead a pretty boring, humdrum life here in Phoenix. Don't do much other than go to work... So when it is time for vacation, I like to "go big or go home"... I discovered Montreal back in 2004. .Went twice a year for several years. But after awhile, it lost a little of its charm. Then just at the right time, I met Tomcal (in Montreal of all places) and he shared with me his pics of Rio boys and I was convinced to make the trip. That was back in 2008, and I have been three times since. I love Rio and all it has to offer, but Thailand has been calling my name as well..I have gotten some great tips on Thailand from firecat, Lucky, and Oz, so hopefully I will make it to both Rio and Thailand this year.
February 17, 201214 yr That sounds promising. I could possibly get there on Wed the 6th.. that would give me a few days of company before you leave. Great for sauna time, but from the sounds of it, your time is pretty well booked up when in Rio. LOL.. Not much time for us old MERmen....

February 17, 201214 yr You guys never age. I rarely celebrate my bd and I'm in my bed by 10 and either read or come here to see what other guys are doing. Where do you get your energy?
