January 11, 200818 yr That's very interesting, I wonder how many business will follow that new law. I was in Dream Boy and Boys Bangkok for Christmas eve, and gosh.. I had to walk out after 20 min as I couldn't stand the cigarette smoke.
January 12, 200818 yr "John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it." - Andrew Jackson I have said many times that I'm a smoker. I have also said that I have no problem with a smoking ban in the bars. I don't have any problem at all about stepping outside if I want to light up. However, I have a feeling that the regulation is going to, in the end, mean about as much to the bar owners as the 90 decibel music volume limitation regulation. I hope the ban really works, but I think it definitely rates a "we'll see."
January 13, 200818 yr The ban of smoking in restaurants seems to work pretty well. The odd few that seem to allow it and get away with it I now no longer visit. A great many, even Starbucks, now seem to have outdoor areas for addicts. Maybe they will have windows into the bar to see the 'dancing boys or closed circuit television like Boyz Boyz Boyz?'

I think you are right. I personally think enclosed spaces are absolutely miserable when people are smoking -- and lest us not forget -- personally harmful. I also believe it will work in most of the cases. As Wowpow asserts, most restaurants are complying quite nicely and the few that haven't, I have complained to management. On all three accounts the owners apologized and rectified the situation. Three Cheers for NON-SMOKING!! TR The Rose
