Why do guys generally stop smiling when aroused?

Featured Replies

OK, I know this is going to sound absurdly naive, but it's a serious question:

I notice that guys in porn videos and photos almost always stop smiling as soon as they get naked.

I don't think that it's simply because their attention is diverted and so the smile dissappears for lack of focus, since sometimes they'll take on another expression instead.

Maybe it's just videos I happen to watch, but this seems to happen so much that I assume it's just human nature; I'm not sure I understand the mechanism.

Well I am not sure whether that is the case since I saw a lot of guys smiling when they are naked. Some guys could be nervous.. I personally never looked myself in the mirror so I don't know how I will look like when naked but I remember smiling.. During sex I don't think I smile.. Some guys smile during sex so I think some people smile.. ^_^

I find the opposite. When I am having sex with a guy, they start out smiling and then simply laughing. ^_^

Seriously, I had not thought about this before but I have about 4 movies I watch over and over and you are right, I don't see the smiles once the sex starts. I'll have to pay more attention in the future.

Oh my Oz you must be very good in bed.. ^_^

It's the intensity that takes away the smile. And no one wants to make another think they are "laughing" at them. In real life I think many are "trying to emulate a porn scene". if you really think about it I think it is more about the intensity of the moment and concentrating on getting the most arousal out of the situation. . .

Good point.

Some are actively working to do something -- not at all prudish -- about the seeming cramping of people's erotic spontaneity by porn conventions...

I really have not noticed a large amount of guys stop smiling when the action begins. In fact I was watching a Bel Ami video last night (for educational reasons only  and the two guys were smiling and laughing a little throughout. They were quite playful with each other.

But with that said I do agree as others mentioned that it could be nerves and also trying to make the scene more intense looking.

I watch gay porn to be better in bed too.. I do the same thing and guys don't like it so I am not doing something right... ^_^ I blame it on gay porn.. Maybe they are scripted and not real???

LOL... and you have my AS on your side for this post.. I have to find an ally, is there anyone who can speak for me before I get deported to America...

(From the movie Everafter......)

Queen - Baroness de Ghent.

You are forthwith stripped of your title.

You and your horrible daughter...

...are to be shipped to the Americas

on the first boat.

Unless, by some miracle...

...someone here will speak for you.

Baronese de Ghent: There seem to be

quite a few people out of town.
