February 12, 201313 yr Does anyone here stay in Intercontinental Hotels often? If so, how many nights a year? What cities? What are your favorite hotels?
February 14, 201313 yr I don't like hotels. I like to stay in a hotel where I can cook my own food so I don't have to go out to eat for every meal. Although I get reimbursed for food while on business trips, I prefer cooking my own food and save money. That's how I earn some extra cash when I go on a business trip since the amount I get paid per day for food is set, I just have to use less than that. Homestead and other extended stay hotels I prefer.. There was an inn in Seattle called Le something and it was very nice and the bed was amazing. The cleaning staff was nice but I asked them not to clean my room since I keep everything neat.. I think I do a good job than those maids.. I think to get a royal ambassador membership you have to pay a certain amount.. You get free upgrade and other extras.. If you are traveling a lot then it might be worth it. Oz you are welcome to stay with me if we happen to be visiting a same city.. I can cook you a nice meal... You just to have to sleep on the sofa bed.. Lol...
February 14, 201313 yr Active Members Totally Oz you know I love my hotel chains and their loyalty programs! I have abandoned Marriott International altogether. Their program has been decimated by the fella in charge of their loyaylty program ( Ed French )over the past few years. And with the last announcement of the devaluation of Marriott Rewards points http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marriott-rewards-including-ritz-carlton/1437603-2013-marriott-rewards-hotel-category-changes-list.html I see I was right in abandoning them. Add in the Marriott/Mormon connection and I am shocked when I here of gay folks giving business to Marriott. I have never really invested in ICG/Priority Club (and it's Royal Ambassador tier) but my friend "John"-who has top status in at least 5 hotel loyalty programs-is a Royal Ambassador of long standing.
