April 13, 201313 yr The origin is Prison. When people are locked up in jail, the police take away your belt so that you can't use the belt to commit suicide or to commit violence. The pants would sag. It had nothing to do with wanting sex lol. The trend became very popular with urban teens and gangster rappers.
April 14, 201313 yr Active Members I knew somebody here would have the skinny! Perhaps the gangsters could be persuaded to start sporting suspenders - delicate enough, of course, to prevent hanging oneself but robust enough to hitch up one's drawers.
