Strange, Menino didn't mention how the civil rights and liberties were usurped by some of those self same responders. Probably not by their own choosing but Americans are supposed to be well known for not following orders IF they are likely illegal.

Certainly there were no known travesties committed by the responders compared to setting off bombs killing lots of innocent folks but there certainly was over reaction and that dictated from the top, not just "rogue" cops taking bad initiatives on their own.

There are a lot of lessons to be learned from this tragedy. Let's be careful to not overlook some of them.
