September 3, 201313 yr I have a problem called water hammering in my pipes at home and try to identify the source. Have you guys had experience with this? I have to find the sources of loose pipe leaks in my basement and crawl spaces so I'm afraid some bugs or rodents will attack me and ruin my shoes. They say seal the leak with plumber's tape but what happens if I can't reach the leak? If you guys don't hear from me for awhile consider something has happened to me. Where is my hubby for this kind of work!!!
September 3, 201313 yr hito, this is exactly why these exotic superheroes called plumbers get paid so much. Call one! Or accept the hard truth: Once your pipes get air in them and start hammering, the only real solution is to move.

September 4, 201313 yr Active Members Sometimes water pipes need strapping to keep them quiet. This is really a job for a professional. It's quite possible the offending pipes are inside finished walls.
September 4, 201313 yr Thanks. I think I have located the leak and fixed the problem. Luckily the leak needed only a ladder to reach. Thank you for messaging me with pieces of advice too.
