Why I like Rio's Beaches!

Featured Replies

I am starting to get excited about my next trip to Rio. I always enjoy the beaches there but particularly the "gay" beach in Ipanema. Here's a couple pics to get some of you motivated that haven't taken the Brazil plunge yet!

The beach areas are referenced by Posto numbers, posto being the lifeguard station number. Posto 9 is the gay beach in Ipanema. The last pic shows that you can't miss it when you get there!

I like who's in pics 3 and 5 from TomCaL's posting!

Today [ 1.31.14] I checked the weather report in Rio; it was in the 80s. I could not take the 100+s or the humidity! :hyper:

Tomcal correction, it's Posto 8 (in front of Farme) that's the gay beach. Posto 9 is international/pothead territory and no longer gay, though of course there's some mixing.

For those who want something slightly different, Posto 10, the beach in front of the Cesar Park and a bit further, you find very attractive straight guys who will do it for money if you know how to isolate them from their friends and make a nice offer. That can be done all over Rio, but others I've met at 117 said they noticed this about Posto 10 as well.

I prefer Posto 10 to the gay beach because the guys are a lot more attractive, but to each their own.
