I thought it was in a book about Robert Oppenheimer, but turns out it was one of E. M. Forster's: It has never happened to me that I’ve had to choose between betraying a friend and betraying my country, but if it ever does so happen I hope I have the guts to betray my country. Obliged to a factor of ten! Also happy that La Parker liked it too. She adds, 'Now doesn’t that make the Fifth Amendment look like a bum?'
October 5, 201411 yr Author You know, I think Oppenheimer did say or write something rather similar. Let me investigate.
