November 17, 201411 yr Active Members ... one trigger of the chaos in Syria has been the multi-year drought the country has experienced since 2006 and the Assad Regime’s ineptitude in dealing with it. Taken from the article AS cites. I've also read that the issue of water tights has been one of the most contentious between the Israelis and the Pals. Imagine what the results would be of several years failure of the annual monsoon rains in the Indian subcontinent.
November 17, 201411 yr Active Members We will need global warming when the ice age currently starting gets serious. However, the main thing staring us all in the face is the availability of fresh water. I think that will be much more politically adverse than the oil crunch or the currency crunch or climate change. Without a serious reduction or control of world population, water will certainly be the next war subject. Best regards, RA1
