On Saturday and Sunday, November 22 and 23 the 8th annual longboat races will be held at Maprachan Reservoir on the eastern outskirts of Pattaya. Beautiful carved boats from the king's collection will be there, and it should be a lovely afternoon. Competitors will be vying for His Majesty the King’s Cup. There will be three categories, the traditional longboat, small boat, and international. Overseas teams will be from Burma, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Singapore.

 

I was not able to go out to the reservoir for the longboat races today, but did see several of the races on television. I am sure the muscle lovers out there would have enjoyed mixing with the many oarsmen. Looks as if, Myanmar beat Thailand, but everything was in Thai, and so I am not sure.

When I first had a look at the photos included, I was a little startled and had to look a second time. A few of the photos show boys who look like they're about ten to twelve years old. Their entire bodies are painted and they are completely naked. I wonder what that is all about. I have no idea and I'm surprised by it.

My problem is coming out of the water. People keep pouring water over me and try to guide me back out to sea. If I'm sitting next to somebody, often people come over, point at me, and ask him, "What did you use for bait?"

 

Now, it's no pleasure publicly admitting that I'm much, much too fat, but it sure is a shame that I can never dress in drag. If I wear high heels I take two steps and strike oil.

 

Was that you Gaybutton, I saw on TV at the longboat races? The camera panned the crowd and the only shirtless guy was this big fat farang on a mat next to the reservoir. He looked like a beached whale.
